A method and system are disclosed which may be utilized to generate a simultaneous presentation within a data processing system of video data within multiple windows supported by different graphic user interfaces. Each graphic user interface is coupled to a separate display device driver. Window movements including: creation; deletion; resizing; movement; minimization; maximization; activation; enablement; or an alteration in relative background/foreground order are detected for each graphic user interface and that information and the associated display device driver for each graphic user interface are coupled to a virtual device driver which facilitates interprocess communication between two or more graphic user interfaces, wherein the portion of the video display which is managed by each graphic user interface may be ascertained. Each separate display device driver is then coupled to a single display device, wherein multiple windows supported by different graphic user interfaces may be simultaneously presented.

Modernization is not just monlith to micro services breakdown or cloud migration. It’s rethinking architectural decisions that once made sense, but no longer do. This week during a DDD session for our ongoing modernization initiative, we revisited something the legacy system had been doing for years: Technician availability was calculated on the fly while assigning them to appointments. Every time the UI needed to display availability: API was reading all appointment transactions, aggregate them dynamically and then remaining hours per technician were calculated. It worked. But it wasn’t optimized for scale, responsiveness, or modern UX expectations. Realization- This was a classic read-heavy workload. The availability screen is queried far more often than appointments are created, and the UI demands sub-second responsiveness. Optimizing write simplicity at the cost of read performance no longer made sense. So we asked a simple question: Why are we optimizing writes when the dominant workload is reads? The Shift: Introducing CQRS Instead of calculating availability during read, we moved the computation to write time. Now: Appointments remain the source of truth but availability is maintained as a precomputed read model in a separate table. The UI simply reads from this optimized availability table. Slightly heavier writes but significantly faster reads with predictable performance. CQRS isn’t “better.” Legacy wasn’t “wrong. Legacy optimized for simplicity. We optimized for scale and responsiveness. Same business problem. Different architectural choice. That’s what thoughtful modernization looks like. #enterprisemodernization #microservices #architectlife Dhaval Joshi
