“Doug is great. He was an incoming CTO when he hired me to consult for him. I got to watch him build a high-performing engineering org from the ground up. He played every position while getting the right team in place, from lead engineer to PM. Doug is such a force of nature that I had to join full time. I can't say enough about the quality of the team he built or the growth I experienced as a result of his mentoring. He pushed people to demand more of themselves and was relentless in his pursuit of quality. He's also one of the most hardcore technical engineers I've ever met.
