Tony Huang reposted thisTony Huang reposted thisHello everyone! Among the top 10 expired auctions last week, half of them were .com domains, and the other 5 were different TLDs. -k7k7.com 7K7K is a Chinese popular platform website that hosts a variety of mini-games. Another company, k7k7.dk, is a Danish cultural company. Both companies are potential clients for this domain name. That is why it worth so much. -synbet.com This combination of 3-letter and bet is very suitable for the online gambling industry, especially since there are already potential buyers like syn.bet. -creator.us The “wssa” is acronyms of the World Social Science Association, formerly the Western Social Science Association. The principle purpose of the Journal is to publish scholarly work in those social sciences closely related to the academic sections promoted at the Annual Conference of WSSA. So org is very suitable TLD for this name. -brandkeeper.com This domain name is suitable for companies focused on brand marketing, brand protection, and intangible asset protection. Currently, there are potential buyers in the market such as brandkeeper.co.uk and bandkeeper.io. After all, upgrading brand is always necessary. -misty.io "Misty" is both an adjective and a name. It's short, easily passes the radio test, and makes for a great brand name. It can be applied across various industries. Currently, there is already a robotics company globally using this name. Tony Huang liked thisThey were rejected again and again, so four friends with Down syndrome built their own future, one pizza at a time. In Buenos Aires, Argentina, Mateo, Franco, Mauri, and Leandro struggled to find employers willing to give them a chance. Instead of giving up, they created their own business called Los Perejiles. Their idea was simple: bring pizza parties to birthdays, schools, and community events. The concept quickly became a success, and demand grew far beyond what they had imagined. Today, Los Perejiles employs around 24 other people with disabilities, providing meaningful jobs, independence, and the opportunity to show what they can do. What began with four rejected job applicants became a growing movement for inclusion. They did not wait for someone to open a door for them. They built their own, then held it open for others.

Patience to apply when no one’s replying. Patience to repeat the job search every day. The tools are easy to learn. The waiting is hard to survive. So yeah, learn SQL. But master patience. "The work we've done to make Berkeley into a startup leader has been years in the making," said Darren Cooke, Berkeley's interim Chief Innovation and Entrepreneurship Officer. "Our students are graduating with the skills and resources to not only have great ideas but to also have ideas that others are willing to put money behind to support." PitchBook, a data provider for private and public equity markets, annually ranks the world’s best universities for producing startup founders. This year’s report indicates that Berkeley undergraduate alumni account for the most founders (1,804) and the most new companies (1,650) of any public or private school in the world. #UCBerkeley #Rankings #Pitchbook

Coding agents are fundamentally changing software engineering in terms of velocity, role, and org structure. We published a memo to our internal engineering team detailing our growing expectations in terms of role/scope. 🟠 Before, the tasks of prioritization, engineering planning, and implementation were divided between EMs, PMs, senior ICs, and junior ICs 🟢 Now, ICs are expected to handle *all* of product prioritization, product speccing, and implementation This is due to a few trends 📈: - Coding agents have brought implementation costs down to ~0. The role of engineers is writing prompts - LLMs and sub-agents have reduced the PM work of synthesizing feedback down to ~0 too The main job of any “engineer” is to be an e2e product owner: being able to translate requirements into specifications, and delegate tasks to various subagents for implementation. Every engineer is told to offload as much as possible to their favorite tools, whether it’s Claude Code, Cursor, Devin, Codex, regular ChatGPT and more. We celebrate and share learnings around burning tokens, as long as it helps drive additional productivity!

Week 3 after Amazon and the momentum is starting to build. This past week was full of forward motion. I created and launched an investor pitch page, attended SoCal Startup Day, made some great connections, and was unexpectedly invited to pitch my startup idea at a competition next month. I’ve also had a few promising phone screens for AI-first engineering leadership roles. It feels like doors are opening in several directions at once. In parallel, I’ve been heads-down making progress on my MVP. The pain I’m exploring is one that many engineers are starting to feel: AI can generate code incredibly fast, but it doesn’t yet generate reliable systems. It creates components that look complete, and sometimes even functional, but they often lack the deeper design considerations that make software sustainable even as it evolves. Metrics and observability, long-term evolution, lifecycle, cohesion across layers. AI solves for the prompt, not the vision and not the architecture. And often vibe coding creates overconfidence that a real system has been created, when what’s actually been produced is only a re-invinted wheel prototype with missing spokes. That gap fascinates me. It feels like we’re still applying pre-AI assumptions to an AI-first world. Principles and patterns shaped around human limitations shouldn't be automatically mapped to an environment where code can be produced, rewritten, or replaced instantly. The more I experiment, the more curious I become about what becomes possible when we stop assuming the baked-in human constraints that shaped the last 20 years of software engineering should define the next 20. This week I validated a key part of my thesis in code. I won’t go into details yet, but it gave me confidence that the direction I’m pursuing isn’t just theoretical. There is a real path forward here. If you’re exploring how AI is reshaping the foundations of software development, or if you’ll be at any upcoming startup or pitch events in Southern California, I’d love to connect! #startups #founders #ai #sdlc #architecture #preseed #socalstartupday
