Cary Platkin shared thisCoda Law Group has been incredibly busy lately. Our team of commercial counsel have been working together to help enterprise SaaS companies craft and adopt terms for new AI features and functions in their existing offerings. And we've been taking on several new "pure play" AI companies sprinting to keep up with this fast-moving new area of commercial contracting. All that's to say - we are still #hiring! Know anyone who might be interested? #techtransactions #saas #ai

Cary Platkin reacted on thisCary Platkin reacted on thisBloomberg today launched a stablecoin dashboard on the Bloomberg Terminal, powered by data from Allium. Terminal users can find it at RWAS <GO>. Raw headline metrics for stablecoins are notoriously misleading - transfer volumes are inflated by bots and double counting from internal exchange & smart contract activity, and much of onchain supply isn't actually circulating. Institutions need reliable data they can trust in the places they're used to seeing & using it. That's why we're so excited to bring normalized, verified onchain data into the financial workflows institutions already use every day on the Terminal. Been a long time coming. Thanks to all the Allium folks who've worked to deliver, and thanks the Bloomberg team for making this happen. Read more in the comments.

Cary Platkin liked thisCary Platkin liked thisThis summer I had the incredible opportunity to work as an intern with the founding team at Sol, a venture-backed company building the next generation of HR software. I joined Sol during stealth and helped them grow into their public launch, working across go-to-market and operations: sitting in on design partner interviews, rebuilding their Notion into an easy to navigate and scalable archive, setting up their CRM, and helping curate a database of 300+ prospective customers. Having the opportunity to watch this company grow from scratch was an irreplaceable experience that will shape my career forever. Thank you to the entire team at Sol for your mentorship this summer, and for opening up your world and your thought process to me. A special thank you to Courtney Cherry Ellis and Erin Yang, who I worked beside every day. Your guidance helped shape my knowledge of AI, startups, and the business world as a whole, and I'm so grateful for the trust you put in me. I’m so excited to keep watching Sol grow.

Cary Platkin liked thisCary Platkin liked thisAnthropic is calling for a global effort to pace AI’s progress and give experts additional time to better manage the risks of increasingly capable models. To make this effort as effective as it can be in helping humanity build AI safely, we think three things should happen. First, every AI company should commit to giving third-party evaluators employee-level access to verify safety, report problems, and guarantee compliance with the slowdown. We’re committing to doing this. Second, AI companies operating in democracies should work together, with government support where necessary, to set common safety standards and limits on runaway AI progress. Third, the U.S. and other democratic governments should try to coordinate with authoritarian governments pursuing advanced AI, recognizing that verification here is critical. None of this is easy, but we believe we need to try, and if we manage to secure the benefit of time, we need to use it well. I hope you’ll read more here: https://lnkd.in/gxkPj9FC

Cary Platkin reacted on thisCary Platkin reacted on thisDropping some massive news for the future of meetings & events, so we had to do it big. BoomPop is officially joining Navan! Three years ago we built BoomPop because planning work events was way too much work. And we believe there is nothing more important than bringing people together. We’re proud of what we accomplished: we brought ~250,000 people together, held a world-class NPS of 80, and saved our customers an estimated ~30% on average on their bookings. And as a marketplace, we also brought high-quality leads to our hotel partners, which meant they responded fast. Navan is on a mission to build the best travel agency on the planet and they chose BoomPop because they know a badass team obsessed with a mission when they see one. Why now? Within a few weeks of our joint partnership, it became indubitably clear that our customers loved having a single destination for travel, expense, and meetings & events. Their excitement drove this to happen. And we cannot wait to show them what’s coming next. A huge shoutout to my co-founder Blake Hudelson, the BoomPop executive team: Tara Morgan, Liz McCormick, Joe Groseclose, Simon T., Craig Dooley, CIS, CITP, and Indrajit Bavan, to our early supporters and investors Jack Abraham, Chester Ng, Scott Stanford, Alex Rodriguez, Farouk Ladha, and of course Gaurav Garg. (Also special shoutout to Adam Bain for the assist, and oren zeev for the love along the way!) And to the Navan team (our new crew!), we are SO excited: Ariel Cohen, Michael Sindicich, Ofer Ben David, Kieran Hartwell, Galen G., Kate McCarthy, Howard Baik, Aurélien Nolf, Erika White and everyone else who helped to make this happen. We’re not finished, we’re just getting started. Learn more: https://navan.com/events PS: Thank you to my wonderful wife Rachel Cypher, PhD who is my rock and without whom I couldn't do any of this. Grateful to you, Rach!

Cary Platkin reacted on thisCary Platkin reacted on thisI've got some exciting news to share! A lot of folks have been asking me what I'm doing next and I can now announce that I'm joining Deepgram today as Chief Product Officer! I first met Scott Stephenson, Adam Sypniewski, Shadi Baqleh, and Natalie Rutgers back in 2021 and have had the privilege of advising them over the years as they've built the most impressive platform for bringing voice to AI, powered by the most advanced voice AI models. It's become clear to me that voice is the new interaction layer and that a new wave of applications will be built where users interact with and direct AI purely through spoken conversations. This means we're going to need an entirely new application stack built for this: new APIs, frameworks, and platform infrastructure purpose-built for powering this next wave. This is the type of challenge I love and that has been the focus of most of my career: delivering platforms with fantastic developer experience and enterprise scale to empower builders and innovators to create the next generation of killer apps. I'm hoping that you all come along for the ride with us! https://lnkd.in/gBnrR-hz

Many firms assume AI visibility requires an entirely new strategy. But the fundamentals are surprisingly familiar. In this clip, Robert Algeri explains why specificity and niche expertise often outperform broad messaging when it comes to being surfaced by AI. Watch to hear why. #LegalMarketing #LawFirms #AI #SEO

California businesses may soon see a significant shift in the website privacy litigation landscape. California SB 690 could mean big changes due to the growing volume of lawsuits targeting common website tech like cookies, tracking pixels and analytics tools. While the legislation could narrow one avenue of privacy litigation, companies should not assume the broader risk has disappeared. Retail & E-Commerce Co-Leads Bryna Dahlin and David Krueger, along with Managing Associate Lauryn Robinson, break down what's coming. #BeneschLaw #DataPrivacy #Cybersecurity #RetailLaw #Ecommerce #CIPA #WebsitePrivacy #PrivacyLitigation #CaliforniaLaw https://lnkd.in/ee7KBJfv

Every “this is real” vs “this is hype” debate in legal AI is just incentives wearing a trench coat. Every take you hear is incentive-shaped: • Vendors: “Our stack is too complex to replace.” (Moat + margin.) • AI-native crowd: “Skip the vendors.” (Adoption + attention.) • Firms: “Domain expertise can’t go away.” (Leverage + control.) Not evil. Predictable. And yes, I’ve got incentives too: less talk, more throughput. Reduce friction. Amplify impact with PossibLaw. So stop litigating opinions. Ask: what are they optimizing for? Then go try: Claude Code, Codex, the platform you already pay for. Run one real workflow. Measure time, quality, risk. Usage follows incentives. Make your incentive outcomes. PossibLaw. Substack. Podcast. Tools to help you become a builder.

This is definitely an interesting one…it brings to mind for me the simple principle that if a third-party is present during legal discussions that isn’t also representing you, it breaks privilege. The fact that the AI isn’t a lawyer and on top of that stores chats in some form of logging function on the backend that nth parties could access, should give pause to not just legal professionals but the average person as well. A bigger question is if a firm rolls their own AI trained for their particular practice area and that isn’t exposed outside of the firm, would _that_ be considered privileged…? 🤔
