Avi Meyerstein shared thisSo proud of our ALLMEP team and members, and grateful to partners and leaders like EU HRVP Kaja Kallas and French FM Jean-Noël Barrot, for relentlessly continuing to advance meaningful integration of civil society peacebuilding with the international diplomatic efforts to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. This kind of ground-up infrastructure, connected with the diplomatic track, has never existed before in the history of this conflict. So while the situation is dire and urgent, these building blocks are real and their potential -- in bringing the people into the process -- is powerful.Avi Meyerstein shared thisThis week at the UN General Assembly 2026, Civil Society took their seat at the head of the table and delivered concrete policy recommendations on settler violence, Gaza’s recovery, and the upcoming elections – creating a genuine back-and-forth between diplomats and civil society. At a roundtable discussion convened by French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot alongside EU HRVP Kaja Kallas, ALLMEP and Guerrières de la Paix brought grassroots peacebuilders into the room to lead the conversation, not just to listen. Twelve civil-society leaders, including representatives from Lead for impact for Impact and ALLMEP member organisations A Land for All: Two States One Homeland and New Story Leadership for the Middle East, addressed 43 high-level government representatives from 35 countries One year after 142 countries voted to support the New York Declaration, and against the escalating reality in the West Bank and Gaza, Palestinian and Israeli civil society held governments to account on their commitments to find solutions to the conflict. “We cannot continue only speaking about it and having strong statements and condemning these actions – we need action on the ground to end violence for all of us”, said Rula Hardal, A Land for All Palestinian co-Director. That call to action and the recommendations peacebuilders presented didn’t come out of nowhere. They’ve been written, debated, and agreed upon by hundreds of Israeli and Palestinian civil society members in a year-long process, culminating in President Emmanuel Macron Paris Call for The Two-State Solution in 2025, and further developed in its 2026 edition on the same weekend that the UK, Canada, and Australia announced the launch of the International Fund for Israeli-Palestinian Peace. At the roundtable, “All of the building blocks for peace are here on the table,” Barrot said. When it comes to moving the needle, “We are a resource for you as much as you are a resource to us,” he added. Civil society is not just ready to act, it is already “stepping up to be the backbone of building up [the peace] coalition”, ALLMEP’s Nivine A. Sandouka noted, and “access, not capacity, is the binding constraint.” We’re grateful to our international diplomatic partners, with gratitude to Jean-Noël Barrot for convening, and to Kaja Kallas, Maxime Prévot, Xavier Bettel, José Manuel Albares, and Espen Barth Mathisen for your comments in support of peacebuilders. We're especially grateful to Hanna Assouline, Kobi Skolnick, Daniel Seidemann, May Pundak Jaser AbuMousa, Prince Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein, Gershon Baskin, Rawan Odeh, Rula Hardal for bringing their invaluable perspectives into the room, and to all who attended for continuing to ensure that the voice of civil society is heard. 🕊️

Avi Meyerstein reposted thisAvi Meyerstein reposted thisAcross the region, Palestinian civil society organizations are working to achieve peace and justice to change the reality on-the-ground. Here’s just a snapshot of what 4 Palestinian ALLMEP members are up to: Jerusalem Center for Women is equipping 80 Palestinian women with dialogue, mediation and trust-building skills to restore civic space. Combatants for Peace marks 20 years of joint Palestinian-Israeli nonviolent action, including their annual olive harvest in solidarity with farming communities. UCPiP provides protective presence and advocacy for Palestinian communities facing violence – helping families stay safely on their land. Rozana Health Diplomacy is building bridges in Gaza through healthcare, including a new rehabilitation clinic in Gaza offering physiotherapy, trauma care and psychosocial support. These four organizations are doing immense work – and are part of a larger ecosystem of civil society who work daily to live and model a better life for peace Follow our tagged members to learn more about their work!

Avi Meyerstein reposted thisAvi Meyerstein reposted thisIn June 2026, years of ALLMEP's advocacy culminated in a major milestone when the UK, Canada, and Australia announced the launch of the International Fund for Israeli-Palestinian Peace. The International Fund is a core component in the fight for peace, equality and justice and reflects a principle at the heart of ALLMEP's work: lasting peace between Israelis and Palestinians cannot be built by top-down diplomacy alone. A just and durable peace requires a resilient, well-funded, and organized civil society to build the trust, parallel constituencies, and human infrastructure needed to sustain political agreements. The story of the International Fund is one of sustained effort, bold imagination, and ecosystem building by ALLMEP and our incredible network of 200+ member organizations. With the Fund now announced and seed funding secured, ALLMEP is focused on the next phase: growing the fund and ensuring civil society peacebuilders have the stable, long-term resources they need to advance a lasting peace. Check out the timeline above to see how this vision for peace became a reality 🕊️

Avi Meyerstein reposted thisAvi Meyerstein reposted thisSummer camp is one of the best parts of summer. For Israelis and Palestinians, the choice to spend that time together is more than a good time at the pool – it’s a radical political act against a system designed to keep them apart. Beyond the dialogue, these summer camps are a launchpad for peacebuilders. A 2022 poll by ALLMEP and AChord found that 50% of alumni from all backgrounds later "worked or volunteered with an organization promoting peace -- " which means today’s summer camp singalong leaders are the ones organizing, protesting, and building a better tomorrow. Avi Meyerstein shared thisEnjoyed speaking last night with PeaceWorks Foundation (formerly OneVoice)'s impressive overflow room of university students and DC summer interns at their summer speaker series. Great questions and conversation around the room and with my co-panelist Daniel Benaim about ways forward for Israelis, Palestinians, & the region -- especially how we can correct for failures of the past, connect civil society with diplomacy, and build the grassroots foundation that strategic peace and security require. It's been an honor to work with and support PeaceWorks, a longtime member of Alliance for Middle East Peace - ALLMEP, especially as it brings the voices of Israeli and Palestinian civil society leaders and changemakers to U.S. college campuses and student audiences. This is critical work. It was clear again last night how much passion, energy, and smarts these next generation leaders bring to the table. But too often, they encounter a diaspora conversation driven more by emotions abroad or academic theories than the wants, needs, and lived realities of the people on the ground. A key to addressing both our broken discourse in the U.S. and finding paths forward in the region is bringing in the voices and standing behind the only people on the ground working together to solve problems: civil society peacebuilders. Thank you, Jonathan Kessler & PeaceWorks!

Avi Meyerstein reposted thisAvi Meyerstein reposted this🤝 🎬 Behind the Scenes as Israeli & Palestinian Civil Society Leaders Present G7 France Blueprint to Foreign Ministers Just before heads of government discussed the Middle East crisis at the G7 Leaders’ Summit in Évian-les-Bains, Ministère des Affaires étrangères français Jean-Noël Barrot hosted a historic gathering at Institut du monde arabe, where 150 Israeli and Palestinian civil society leaders came together to present The Paris Call 2026—a shared blueprint addressing security; humanitarian relief and reconstruction; threats to the two-state solution; governance and democratic reform; public narratives; and regional integration. ALLMEP's new 2-minute video by Hilla Medalia offers an exclusive look inside this landmark meeting, where Israeli and Palestinian leaders engaged directly with foreign ministers and senior diplomats to present a joint vision for moving beyond a violent, frozen and unjust status quo. Avi Meyerstein reposted thisAvi Meyerstein reposted thisINSIDE LOOK: At the Paris Call 2026, ALLMEP's Rawan Odeh and Eran Nissan, together with Executive Director John Lyndon, spoke directly with EU High Representative Kaja Kallas, thanking her for the EU’s unmatched support for peacebuilders, and discussing what it will take to make peace possible in Israel-Palestine. Their message was clear: it's time to institutionalise the role of civil society — to radically scale support for peacebuilders on the ground, and give them the political backing they need to drive change. Thank you to Kaja Kallas for consistently showing up for civil society. Having committed over €18 million at last year's It's Time conference, the EU is the largest single donor to civil society peacebuilding. This week, at the Council of the European Union, member states have the chance to now embed that reality in policy, and institutionalise civil society’s role. As Eran Nissan put it, peacebuilders are the experts in leading difficult conversations. And as Rawan Odeh made clear, they are ready to step into the political process – but they need the EU's partnership to get there. We call on the Council of the European Union, to codify and institutionalise civil society's role, reflecting in policy terms what Kaja Kallas said from the stage in Paris: “Civil society is not an afterthought in diplomacy, it is indispensable for building peace.” Thank you to Kaja Kallas and the European External Action Service for engaging directly with the people doing the work that can widen the diplomatic window, and bring us closer to genuine peace.

From Spreadsheets To Shared Data: How Justice-Focused Nonprofits Data Management Can Unify Case And Program Records Most justice-focused nonprofits were never meant to run on spreadsheets forever. Yet intake, clinics, trainings, and grant outcomes often sit in tabs and shared drives that only a few people really understand. When funders, boards, or partners ask simple questions, staff scramble. Exports, copy‑paste, late nights. People worry about privacy but do not feel they have better options. From Corporate Transformation to National Governance: 18 Senior Civil Servants, Two Days, and the Civil Service's First Public Pledge to "Speak One Language" https://lnkd.in/dU55dNpG Most people who hear that senior civil servants earned CSM certification will say, "So now even civil servants are learning corporate tricks" -- and move on to the next meeting. This isn't a good-news story. The real question is: what does a group of managers who lined up and signed themselves up for an exam have to do with your organization's decisions? The civil service isn't short on methods. What most agencies -- and most agencies and their vendors -- have never had is a shared language. The corporate world has already proven, with 455 CSM certificates, that decision-makers learning agile is only a matter of time. This time, the civil service moved first. What language is your organization speaking right now?
