The Bartels Sport Management Award - This recognition is given for accumulating the most hours and gaining extensive work experience in the sports industry outside of classroom activities. 2. The Silverman Sport Management Award - Awarded for achieving the highest GPA among all my peers in the Sport Management department. As I count down the final two weeks until graduation, I want to express my deepest gratitude to J.W. Stewart and Ceyda Mumcu, Ph.D. Their guidance and high expectations have pushed me to be the best I can be. I am immensely grateful for their support and mentorship. Cheryl Kaplan liked thisCheryl Kaplan liked thisBefore generative AI changed everything, I thought building an AI travel company would be hard. I had no idea how quickly the definition of an “AI travel company” would change. When my co-founders, Aaron DeCoste and Brian Frye, and I started TripTap, we believed we were building a much better way to plan trips. Then large language models exploded into the mainstream, consumer expectations changed almost overnight, and the opportunity became both bigger and more complicated than anything we had originally envisioned. If there’s one lesson I’ve learned, it’s this: A startup’s first idea is rarely its last. Over the past year, we’ve built, rebuilt, scrapped features we loved, pursued new ones we never imagined, changed suppliers, talked with destinations, publishers, and travel brands, and continued to refine what we believe is a genuinely differentiated AI platform. Some days have been filled with optimism. Some have been humbling. We’ve reached the point where the future of the company will likely be determined over the next 30 to 60 days. The technology is real. It’s largely built, but not finished. Today, TripTap can already create personalized itineraries, recommend flights, hotels, restaurants, and activities, and connect travelers with booking partners. But like many startups at this stage, the last 10 percent is the hardest. We need to complete several key pieces of the product, restore several key integrations, and put enough fuel behind it to answer the only question that ultimately matters: Can this become a real business? I believe it can. Not because startups deserve to succeed, but because we’ve learned enough to know where the opportunity is and what it will take to test it properly. We also know exactly who we’d bring in to accelerate the next phase if we had the resources to do it. Over the next few posts, I’m going to share what we’ve learned about AI, travel, and building a company during one of the fastest technology shifts in history. She stepped away from what was popular, took greater control of her creative direction, and trusted her instincts. Looking back, it became the foundation for everything that has followed. For me, the anniversary brings back memories of a career-defining chapter. I had the honor and privilege of joining Beyoncé’s creative team as art director for the album, an experience that shaped me both creatively and professionally. What stays with me most is Beyoncé’s presence as a visionary and leader. I saw someone who carried immense responsibility with authority, grace, and lead with gratitude at every turn. She always showed respect for the people around her and appreciation for the collective effort behind the work. Those lessons have stayed with me throughout my career. As I look back on that experience, I'm grateful not only for the opportunity to contribute, but for the chance to witness what true creative leadership looks like. Watching an artist of such magnitude continually challenge herself, trust her vision, and bring others along with her left a lasting impression on me that continues to inform how I show up as a creative leader today. #gratitude #creative

Public venues have a responsibility to consider the messages they amplify and the communities they serve. Antisemitism should not be dismissed as controversy, separated from its real-world impact, or normalized through public platforms. Decisions about who is given a stage matter, especially at a time when antisemitic incidents continue to rise. We join those urging the venue to reconsider and encourage leaders to continue speaking out against the normalization of antisemitism. This month I joined a remarkable group of 120 women founders selected for this year’s Fellowship program. While the experience has only just begun, one of the most rewarding parts has already been the opportunity to connect with such an inspiring community of entrepreneurs—not just within my cohort, but across the entire Tory Burch Foundation Fellow network. As a founder and a mom, it’s been especially meaningful to meet other women who are navigating the same balancing act of building businesses while raising children. Entrepreneurship can be incredibly rewarding, but it can also feel isolating at times. Finding a community of women who understand both journeys has been energizing and inspiring. I’m excited to learn from these incredible founders, share my own experiences, and continue building relationships within this community as SAYSO enters an exciting new chapter. Cheryl Kaplan reacted on thisCheryl Kaplan reacted on thisLast week, I traveled to Boston to partner with Drake Maye and Rhonda Garvin Conaway to record a PSA on preventing veteran suicide. What drives me to this work isn't just around prevention. It's about helping to restore hope and joy in the lives of veterans who may be struggling with their mental health. It was so nice meeting and spending time with Rhonda. Her husband Brett died by suicide several years ago. When I saw her, I hugged her as if I had known her for years. Between takes, we chatted about our families and laughed together. She is such a wonderful person. And there was Drake.... What struck me about this 23 year old young man is that one of the first things he did when he saw me was to apologize for being late (I have no idea what time he was supposed to be there 😂). He'd come directly from practice to do the event. He was courteous, personable, and genuinely engaged throughout the event. Here's a young man who's made a decision to use his platform to raise awareness around such a critical problem facing our country. I'm grateful for him, and to so many other athletes who do the same. I don't know what's going to have the most meaningful impact in saving more lives, but I'll do whatever I can to serve this cause... Special thanks to Peter Masiakos, Jamie Rhonheimer, Russell Griffin, Michael Allard, Dan Arkins, and Jack Hammond for their leadership and commitment in pulling this together.
