Adrian Czebiniak liked thisAdrian Czebiniak liked thisExcited to share my next chapter: I've joined Altes Capital as Managing Director, Capital Formation & Strategic Partnerships. What drew me in wasn't just the role, it was the platform. Altes has spent over four decades helping advisors and institutions access differentiated opportunities across private markets, real assets, and insurance-dedicated strategies - and I liked the long history paired with an entrepreneurial, build-it culture. I'll be working with RIAs, family offices, endowments, and foundations to connect them with these opportunities and grow long-term relationships. If we've worked together before, or you're an advisor or allocator exploring alternatives, I'd love to reconnect. Here's to new beginnings.

Adrian Czebiniak liked thisAdrian Czebiniak liked thisStepping back during my sabbatical, one observation kept surfacing: At iConnections, I worked directly with managers, helping them sharpen their message and target the right allocators. The managers I helped build real momentum weren’t necessarily the ones with the strongest brand names. They were the ones who showed up consistently, followed through with discipline, and gave allocators a clear reason to keep the conversation going. That observation is what Natalie Gramins and I spent months talking through before we decided to build something around it. Today, we’re officially launching CrownRidge Advisory, a boutique IR and BD advisory firm built for exactly this problem: helping alternative investment managers translate strong strategies into lasting institutional traction. We’re different from a placement agent. We build the narrative, the infrastructure, and the institutional capability that makes a manager worth meeting and worth remembering. If you’re raising, repositioning, or building from scratch and want to talk, we’d welcome it! www.crownridgeadvisory.com #altsinvesting

It was an incredible four weeks on the road with our team and Lawrence Calcano, iCapital’s Chairman and CEO, meeting clients and partners across Asia, Canada, and Europe. From the opening of our newly expanded offices in Hong Kong and Singapore, hosting Engage+ events in Hong Kong and Toronto with more than 500 clients, to connecting with clients and partners across many European cities - the past weeks have been a powerful reminder of the momentum behind iCapital’s mission. Private markets are no longer a side bet - they are a core pillar of modern portfolios, and fintech firms like iCapital are right at the heart of making this shift happen. On a personal note, this trip also marks my final chapter at iCapital. As announced a few weeks ago, I will be rejoining LGT Capital Partners as Managing Partner and member of the Executive Committee – returning to a place that was already an important part of my professional journey many years ago. Looking back, leading and building iCapital’s International business across Europe, Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Latin America, and Canada - with 10 international offices today - over the past nearly six years has been a true privilege and an incredibly rewarding experience. I am deeply grateful to our clients, partners, and all colleagues – your trust, support, and collaboration made this journey so special! A special thank you to Lawrence Calcano for this unique opportunity and for your visionary leadership and guidance throughout all these years, which shaped both the business and my journey in a profound way. I am pleased to stay close to iCapital as part of the International Advisory Board and will be always cheering the team from the sidelines. Wishing iCapital lots of continued success … and looking forward to joining my new colleagues at LGT Capital Partners later this summer! #WealthManagement #PrivateMarkets #FinTech

Adrian Czebiniak liked thisAdrian Czebiniak liked thisAfter six years building iCapital's data and analytics platform - from first data engineering hire at SIMON to managing the analytics team - I left a couple months ago to start building again. Building in the age of AI is crazy. I don’t mean this in the sense of “now software engineers are completely replaceable.” I mean the profession is completely transformed. People aren’t writing lines of code anymore, though that doesn’t mean the normal rules of software engineering don’t apply. “AI engineering” resembles software engineering, but tacks on new skills: model intuition, harness development, creating tools, prompt engineering, and so on. The job post I’d write in 2026 is very different from the one I’d write in 2025. In just a few months, I’ve gone from “this is jargon-y nonsense” to “this is legitimately a new skill set”. Well, if AI is so good, what can we possibly build that won’t be devoured by Claude and OpenAI in the coming years - the dreaded “SaaS apocalypse”? I find this tremendously unconvincing. The frontier model providers specialize in exactly that: frontier models. They do not specialize in the stuff around the model - domain-specific prompts, tool calls, integrations and workflows - which make AI not just smart, but also useful. The surface area of useful, industry-specific tools to build is close to infinite. It is not the death of SaaS, but as with all things, the evolution of it. And that makes it a remarkable time to build.

Adrian Czebiniak reacted on thisAdrian Czebiniak reacted on thisI wanted to share some news about the next step in my career. Not too long ago, before my most recent role at Hudson Bay, I had a job I truly loved. I believed deeply in my team's vision and had the opportunity to inspire others around the impact we could have across the firm. That experience taught me that 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘀, 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗲𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝘁𝗼 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝗲𝗱. When priorities shift away from foundational areas, even great ideas can struggle despite the strength of the people behind them. It also reinforced something I didn't fully appreciate at the time: when you have something special, you don't always realize it until it's gone. Over the years, I've also come to appreciate something equally important: The best roles are the ones that stretch you. The opportunity to solve difficult problems, draw on the full range of your experience, and continue learning is what keeps work meaningful. 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂'𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗱, 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹, 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗷𝗼𝗯 𝗳𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝘀 𝗻𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆. I have no regrets. Every experience—both rewarding and challenging—has shaped who I am today, and I'm grateful for the path that's brought me here. I'll be joining 𝗔𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 as 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆. I look forward to the challenge ahead and what the future holds.

The "Intelligence Architecture" Perspective Post Text: The next generation of top-tier fund managers is moving away from "People-Powered" operations toward Architecture-Powered scale. For a long time, the industry benchmark for an institutional-grade back office was headcount. If you had enough analysts to manually verify the spreadsheets and "brute force" the data, you were considered safe. But in 2026, scale is no longer a human capital problem. It’s an Intelligence Architecture problem. Most funds are "organized," but they lack Deterministic Governance. • Organization is just having your PDFs in the right folders. • Intelligence Architecture is having a system that inherently understands the relationship between a term sheet in London, a tax-blocker in the Caymans, and the risk triggers in your credit box. The GPs who are winning right now have stopped thinking like "software users" and started thinking like System Architects. They realize that if you don't build a deterministic framework for your data before you layer on the automation, you’re just making the mess happen faster. The moat for the next decade of fund management isn't just proprietary deal flow. It’s the proprietary Intelligence Loop that allows you to act on that flow with 100% certainty, while your competitors are still stuck in reconciliation. Fix the architecture. The execution takes care of itself. #FundManagement #PrivateCredit #IntelligenceArchitecture #OperationalExcellence At Covault, we’re done with the "Big Bang we’re proving the power of our Capital Markets Intelligence Architecture one module at a time. This week, our Credit and Risk pods (led by Selene and Sahana) turned a manager’s "unusable" historical deal-flow export into a structured, audit-ready relationship engine in 48 hours. The result: • 0% manual data entry. • 100% visibility into covenant drift. • A data room that actually passes ODD. We aren't asking you to move your whole fund. We’re telling you to upgrade your data. Send us your messiest CSV. We’ll show you what it looks like when it actually has a brain. #PrivateCredit #FundOps #IntelliOS #InvestmentManagement

**Exploring New Horizons in Crypto Investments** Arthur Hayes' family office, Maelstrom, is setting its sights on raising $250 million for a new private equity fund focused on medium-sized crypto firms. With planned investments ranging from $40 to $75 million, this fund exemplifies the growing interest in capturing value within the crypto ecosystem. As CIO at Regarde Familia Family Office, this evolution prompts me to consider: How can family offices effectively balance traditional sectors with innovative digital markets? #investing #innovation #familyoffice #finance

Worth paying attention to... Anthropic vs. Cursor. While Cursor was paying Anthropic hundreds of millions in API fees to power its AI code editor, Anthropic seems to have studied exactly what developers wanted, then launched Claude Code to "eat" their biggest distribution partner. The result. Claude Code hit $1B ARR in just six months and has already surged past $2.5B, proving that when you're a "wrapper" startup, you're often just paying your provider to learn how to replace you. Keep an eye on Cursor layoffs...

David Zhou joined us this week on Swimming with Allocators to unpack how allocators find real signal in venture’s noise. A few takeaways that stuck with me: • People over data only works when judgment has reps. • A firm’s name is more than branding—it’s shorthand for trust. • The best GPs document conviction so clearly that LPs can retrace the logic. • There are taste makers and marketers. Your memo tells us which you are. • Great legal counsel is part of strategy, not a line item. Grateful to Shane Goudey and the Sidley Austin LLP crew for grounding the legal side in stories every emerging manager should hear. Listen in (link in the comments) and tell me, what’s your process for finding real signal today?

If you’re fundraising for a deep tech company in 2026, use the attached Carta cheatsheet as a planning tool. Here’s the practical way to read it. Start with dilution, not valuation. Across this dataset (919 US deep tech rounds), the median dilution for Priced Seed is ~22%, and the median dilution for Series A is also ~22%. Then work backwards from your milestone. Decide what you must prove to unlock the next round (technical de-risking + a commercial proof point), cost it out, add a realistic buffer, and only then set the round size. If the money you want implies 30%+ dilution at your stage, that’s usually a signal to either (a) tighten the milestone, or (b) split the plan into two steps. Use the ranges to set realistic terms. For example, smaller post-money SAFE rounds ($1M–$2.4M) commonly sit around ~$10M–$20M caps, while larger SAFE rounds ($2.5M–$4.9M) often move into the ~$15M–$30M cap range. Priced Seed and Series A show wide valuation bands; what matters is staying within a dilution budget that keeps you fundable for the next step. Three founder checks I recommend before you sign: 1) “What exact risk is removed by this round?” 2) “What will the company look like at the end of the runway?” 3) “Does this cap/valuation keep the next round plausible?” US benchmarks, yes (Carta dataset). But these round-design mechanics translate well to Europe too: milestones, runway, and dilution discipline are still what determine whether the next round is plausible. AI isn’t killing venture, SaaS-era valuation math is, the “AI margin tax,” why $100M ARR can be a mediocre outcome at 25–60% gross margins, and the one metric (contribution margin per action) founders and investors should obsess over. https://lnkd.in/gpiR6APY

Sustained ~252–291 GiB/s of HBM memory throughput on H100s under decode load — essentially hitting the hardware roofline. This matters because HBM throughput, not FLOPs, is the real bottleneck in LLM inference. By keeping memory nearly fully saturated, I’ve unlocked far higher efficiency and throughput than standard engines.
