Ryan Young reposted thisRyan Young reposted thisMost people join a company for a role. Charles Ide joined Netic for its mission, then built the role to match it. He was at Scale AI, training frontier agent models, but Charles wanted to build for the real world, not just Silicon Valley labs. One call with Melisa laid out an industry that software had passed over for decades: the essential service businesses that keep the country running, and a plan to build the AI that finally serves them. Melisa couldn't tell him exactly what he'd be doing at Netic, but Charles told her he'd figure it out. A year later, his work runs through every part of the company. Integration work our team once ran by hand: configuring telephony stacks, adding speed to lead vendors, and setting up new tenant data across dozens of disparate systems, was hours of work that now takes a few clicks. Charles got our sales team fluent in the product and the industry they're selling into, and he's become an engineer our customers count on throughout their Netic partnership. Every problem he takes on turns into something durable: a product, a process, a team that can run with it. "I didn't know exactly what I'd be doing here," Charles says. "That was the appeal." The role nobody could define last summer is now an entire function. Charles is building out our forward-deployed engineering team, and he's looking for people who see an undefined problem the way he does, as the best part of the job. Charles, we're so glad you're building this with us!

Ryan Young reposted thisRyan Young reposted thisNew Neticians this week! Welcome to Jonathan Pickard, Bijan Parvin, Graham King to our GTM team. Ryan Young and I are building a very special GTM team with people who are ready to combine their experience with curiosity for technical details and customer obsession. JP has touched every sales system you can think of in Verkada and was fundamental to the success of one of the best sales teams in the valley. Bijan acted like a founder at Peakzi. The amount of customers messaging me about him and his care for customers is a testament. Graham brings the army discipline to our execution. Abhishek Sharma is joining us from PayPal to transform our front end and UX engineering. Lillian Hicks will be advising us on talent and help carry out our plan for growing only with remarkable people. That is the bar we’ll never reduce. Welcome all. Welcoming new Neticians is favorite part of my job.

Ryan Young reposted thisRyan Young reposted thisThere’s nothing I’m more passionate about than the excitement of grinding to be the best. From eSports World Championships to Spartan Races to my time at Verkada, there’s never been a time in my life where I’ve been content with anything less than world class. That’s why I’m thrilled to announce that I’ve joined Netic to help build the internal systems that will help keep a rocket ship rocketing! 6.5 years of building and scaling business systems for Verkada’s hyper growth taught me how important those systems and tools are when a company moves fast. The idea of getting to build and design those systems again from scratch for Netic feels like I’m back on the starting line of something truly great. A huge thank you to Melisa Tokmak for selling the vision and passion that convinced me to start over, roll up my sleeves, and build from scratch again. Ryan Young, Guillaume Sabourin, Sean Miller can’t wait to do it all over again. Time to find a Celsius and get back to the grind.

Ryan Young reposted thisRyan Young reposted thisSan Francisco-based Netic, an AI startup automating the front office for home service industries like HVAC, plumbing and electrical, has reached a $450 million valuation on $43 million of equity raised, and has been named to Forbes' 2026 Next Billion-Dollar Startups list, published on 28 July 2026. The company's recent Series B of $23 million was led by Founders Fund, with continued backing from Greylock, both of whom have participated across successive rounds. Founded in 2023 by Melisa Tokmak, Netic operates an autonomous AI engine that answers customer calls, books jobs, and manages follow-ups for small and regional service businesses, integrating with the legacy dispatch systems that dominate the sector. Melisa Tokmak grew up in a small village in Manisa, Turkey, before earning a full-ride scholarship to study computer science at Stanford University. She held product roles at Facebook and Instagram before joining Scale AI as an engineering director leading its enterprise and government business units. The idea for Netic came from a personal experience — she and her husband received a several-thousand-dollar electricity bill after moving to Mill Valley, California, and could barely find home service providers who would even answer the phone. The commercial thesis is meaningful in size. The United States home services market is estimated at roughly $600 billion in annual spend, with plumbing, HVAC and electrical work forming a significant share of that total. Service businesses lose an estimated 30 to 40 percent of potential jobs simply because they cannot answer calls while technicians are on-site, at a moment when the country is structurally short of about 500,000 skilled tradespeople. In that context, Netic is not selling automation as a feature. It is selling revenue capture as a product, and doing so with unusual capital efficiency for an AI-heavy business. Ryan Young shared this50 days in, Sean Miller already closed numerous six-figure contracts at Netic. I've built very successful companies from zero more than once and I know what early traction looks like. Most reps need a full quarter to get their footing. Sean didn't at Netic. That's because of his attitude, our product, and our culture of constant improvement. Sean was already one of the best reps at Verkada. He could have coasted on that name for years. He didn't and instead went back to basics at Netic: full onboarding, learning the product, learning industries he'd never sold into, flying out to meet customers in person. The technical depth was a real climb and he didn't blink. That's the price of admission at an AI-native company. No shortcuts, no hiding. The reps who win the next decade are building the new playbook right now, today, while everyone else waits for permission. If you sit on old playbooks one more quarter, you'll watch a whole generation of sellers run past you. We train like it matters. Retros after every sprint, same as engineering. Feedback in the open, no sugarcoating. It stings - that's exactly why our people get good, fast. Half the "AI companies" hiring right now will be dead in three years. Fair to be skeptical. Look at the substance underneath: Is the team stacked with elite players, are the customers obsessed with the product, are the investors known for picking the biggest winners, and is the founder exceptional? That's Netic. The biggest paydays go to the people who push, not the ones who coast. Sean Miller pushed. Look what happened. We're hiring everywhere in GTM. Message me and I'll give you a call. Ryan Young reposted thisRyan Young reposted thisNetic is hosting Tacos & Lawn Games for the top Forward Deployed Engineers in the Bay Area on August 20 from 6–8 PM at Sydney Walton Square. Come by for tacos from Tlaloc, cornhole, Spikeball, frisbee, and a chance to meet the team. We’re building AI for the businesses that form the backbone of the American economy, helping them serve their customers better and operate more effectively. For many people across the country, Netic may be their first substantial interaction with AI beyond a chatbot toy. That means building agents for mission-critical workflows where failure is not an option. A failed tool call or hallucination can mean a missed $20K job for a customer, so reliability, speed, and judgment matter enormously. The team is made up of high-energy, high-ownership people who run through walls and win together, with backgrounds spanning Scale, Databricks, Cognition, Stanford, MIT, and Harvard. Just as importantly, we’ve built a culture where talented people genuinely want to work together. Our Forward Deployed Engineers work directly with customers and prospects, turn ambiguous business problems into production systems, and rapidly ship solutions into live deployments. The role combines engineering, product judgment, customer empathy, and end-to-end ownership. Come for dinner, stay for the games, and learn what we’re building at Netic. Hope to see you there! Space is limited, so please RSVP here: https://lnkd.in/gAuaBVcS

Ryan Young reposted thisRyan Young reposted thisMost 20-year-olds are halfway through college. At 20, Davin Jeong left Harvard to go all-in on Netic, and he hasn't looked back. Davin has spent his whole life chasing the steepest learning curve he could find. This drive is exactly what led him to Netic. At Netic, Davin could deploy AI for mission-critical essential service businesses, build custom software to help our customers improve their operations, and he could spend time in-person with industry leaders around the country. Davin didn’t need to hear anything else. This was his room, and he fit right in. He was deploying for customers by week two and pitching companies in Colorado by week three. Since then, he's owned entire workflows in new verticals, shipped custom integrations alongside our customers' engineering teams, and taken on Agent Builder, our internal agent that builds other agents. All before turning 21. That’s what happens when extraordinary talent is trusted with extraordinary ownership. “At Netic, anything you touch moves the whole business," Davin says, and no one runs at that harder than he does. He raises the bar for everyone around him and he's only getting started. He found the room where he'd grow the fastest. Davin, we're so glad you're building this with us

Ryan Young reposted thisRyan Young reposted thisWe're proud to announce our partnership with American Residential Services to bring frontier AI to one of America's largest home services providers. ARS is deploying Netic's AI platform across their national network to help customer service specialists support more homeowners, respond faster, and continue delivering the high-quality experience the company is known for as it grows nationwide. Within 2 months, we’re nearly complete with the national deployment. Divakar Jandhyala, Chief Technology Officer at ARS said: "There were two key things we looked for as we searched for an AI partner. First, we needed AI that could consistently deliver for our customers. Second, we wanted a partner with the technical depth to deploy AI successfully across a complex enterprise. Netic has been that partner, helping us expand our capabilities while maintaining the service standards our customers expect." This collaboration reflects a shared belief that AI delivers the greatest value when it empowers people rather than replaces them. Thanks to the entire team at ARS for their partnership. We’re excited for all that is ahead!

Ryan Young liked thisRyan Young liked thisNetic spent last weekend at Hack the North, our first trip to the University of Waterloo! It is the largest hackathon in Canada, and the energy on that campus is hard to describe. Hundreds of students came through our booth, dozens of them walked away in green caps, and our team spent two days talking about what it actually looks like to build AI for the essential service businesses that keep the country running. We also sponsored the BeaverTails! We got some of Waterloo's sharpest minds around two tables for dinner. They came with questions about the hard parts of what we are building, and they had clear ideas about the kind of work they want to own. By Sunday, we had met students we are already looking forward to seeing again, and Netic green was showing up all over campus. Thank you to Hack the North for having us. We are hiring interns, co-ops for all terms, and new grads. The roles are in the comments. Send us a DM if you want to build with us!

Ryan Young liked thisRyan Young liked thisA year ago, Pushpendre Rastogi and I quit our jobs to take the biggest swing of our lives. A lot has changed since then, and there are a lot of new people here. So here’s a little about us and what we’re building. I’m Pushpak. Before starting Harden, I spent years building products at Amazon and Verkada. My cofounder, Pushpendre Rastogi, started his career at Goldman Sachs, got his PhD, spent years building AI at Amazon, and most recently worked on next-gen LLMS at Google DeepMind. Last year, we both quit to build something of our own. Raised $2M before we had a product. We wanted to take everything we’d learned and build something of our own. That became Harden. Today, developers, startups and big companies write millions of lines of code with AI every day. But giving AI that much access has already led to data leaks and security incidents. Harden exists to make AI coding safe. This problem gets bigger every time someone new starts building with AI. We want Harden to be the company that solves it. We have an incredible team building alongside us. And from here on, we're building in public. The wins, the mistakes, the people, and everything it takes to build the company we believe Harden can become. Follow along 🫂!

The fastest way to scale pipeline is focus, not more headcount. On The GTMnow Podcast, Ghazi Masood shared how his team re-architected their SDR motion to unlock growth: 🟢 Early on, hybrid SDRs covering inbound and outbound worked fine. 🟢 But to scale, they split the team into dedicated inbound and outbound roles. 🟢 That clarity created sharper behaviors, better outcomes, and a healthier funnel. A simple structural shift, but one that multiplied results. Watch the full episode on YouTube: https://lnkd.in/ga6Wfv-Z

Your SDR team costs $1.8M before they book a single qualified meeting. I used to hire SDRs. Now I deploy AI agents and one EA. Same output. 10x cheaper. Here's the math most revenue leaders miss: → $60-80K per rep → 40% quit after 6 months → $180K per year per SDR (all-in cost) → 10-rep team = $1.8M before first meeting booked Meanwhile, AI SDR platforms crossed a threshold in late 2025. They stopped being experimental. They started working. The result: → 7x increase in conversion rates → 500+ positive replies per month → 88% cost reduction This isn't about firing people. It's about math. Mid-market B2B companies don't have runway to burn $1.8M on headcount that takes six months to contribute. I'm writing a full breakdown of the AI agent stack that's replacing SDR teams — without breaking your GTM motion. Clay + n8n + AI SDR platforms. Real numbers. Real workflows. Real results from 2026. Still managing your channel on "vibes"? 📉 Most vendors look at "Total Sales" and call it a day. But the pros? They’re looking at: 1️⃣ Certification-to-Revenue Ratio: Who is trained but not selling? 2️⃣ Lead Velocity: How fast are partners moving on your MDF leads? 3️⃣ Churn Predictors: Which partners haven't logged into the portal in 30 days? Data is the only way to see the fire before the house burns down. 🏠🔥 #DataDriven #ChannelMetrics #PartnerOps
