You can now register for events: tech-week.com/calendar 2,300+ event submissions across San Francisco and Los Angeles 📍SF: October 5-11 📍LA: October 12-18 People always ask about the data, so I wanted to share a few stats: - 1 in 7 SF events is about agentic AI. 213 events in SF and 53 in LA are explicitly about agents (in the title or description). In 2024 there were only about a dozen! - SF has 1,500+ events and is now the biggest single tech week ever (until New York no doubt takes the crown again in 2027 😉) - Events got more curated: typical event size is 100 people, and dinners under 30 people are up 40% - Hackathons and technical events are having a moment: 120+ events across SF/LA, and the variety is huge, spanning hardware and physical builds to defense, media/creative, fintech, civic/social good and more - There are hundreds of first-time hosts, showing that new startups are investing in GTM early - LA, the OG tech week (now in its fifth year!), is doubling down on deep tech with 100+ events. Expect heavy activity in El Segundo. Last year, Tech Week saw attendees from over 100 countries. It’s going to be a party. Aaron Richman liked thisAaron Richman liked thisI spend a lot of my life optimizing my time and my schedule (I’m a Type A, hyper-achieving Virgo... it’s hard to avoid). This year, I decided to stop trying to make summer operate like the rest of the year. Instead of filling my kids’ schedules with camps and babysitters so I could keep the same work schedule I have when they’re in school, I decided to just…enjoy the summer with them. We spent a few weeks in Italy. Almost a month at my mom’s in North Carolina. And some slow weeks at home. Some weeks I worked a lot, some weeks barely at all. But I got to actually appreciate summer vs. fight against it, and somehow it all worked. Being a working mom is a constant act of balance, and one thing I’m realizing is that “doing it all” doesn’t necessarily mean doing it all at the same time. P.S.
