Along with my Co-Founder @Christian Dawson, we created #CODI to help change that by advancing multilingual access and championing Universal Acceptance so that language is never a barrier to participation online. Over the past year, we have brought together leaders across technology, policy, standards, and civil society around a shared understanding: multilingual access strengthens the entire Internet ecosystem. Ram Mohan posted thisAs we look to the future, we must ensure that technology strengthens—rather than diminishes—the rich cultural identities of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Despite progress, a significant digital divide remains, marked by limited connectivity, economic barriers, and the overwhelming dominance of English online. With 90% of Indigenous languages once considered endangered, the rise of AI risks deepening this exclusion if native languages are not supported. For more than 25 years, I’ve advocated for Universal Acceptance—the principle that all domain names and email addresses, in all scripts and languages, should work everywhere online. UA is not just technical—it is cultural. It enables knowledge transmission, identity, and community strength. Through initiatives like the Coalition on Digital Impact (CODI), we are working to ensure that Australia’s first languages have a place in our digital future. The next generation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander leaders is already using technology to preserve, document, and evolve culture. Ram Mohan liked thisRam Mohan liked thisThe PGA of Australia has today announced the appointment of experienced executive and company director Chris Chapman as an Independent Director of the PGA of Australia Board. Chapman brings extensive experience across strategy, regulation, media, communications, sport, infrastructure and governance. A former lawyer, Chapman has held senior Chair and Chief Executive roles across a range of organisations, including the Australian Communications and Media Authority, Research Australia, Seven Network and Stadium Australia. Since 2016, he has held a number of non-executive director and advisory roles, including consulting projects with the PGA of Australia and Golf Australia. Chapman’s connection to golf spans more than 50 years, beginning at Royal Sydney Golf Club through junior golf camps and caddying, before later becoming a long-standing member, then ultimately, President of the Club and leading the Club’s Championship Course redevelopment. Chapman replaces Ric Lazar, who concluded his time on the Board after 16 years of service to the PGA of Australia at the recent Annual General Meeting. PGA of Australia Chair Ian Baker-Finch said Chapman’s appointment added significant governance and commercial experience to the Board. “We are delighted to welcome Chris Chapman to the PGA of Australia Board,” Baker-Finch said. “Chris brings a strong background in strategy, governance, regulation, media, major venues and commercial leadership, along with a clear understanding of the PGA business model and the opportunities in front of professional golf." After much thought, I've decided to accept a long-term separation package, bringing this chapter of my career to a close. I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunities I've had over the past 26 years, the challenges that helped me grow, and, most importantly, the amazing colleagues, clients, and friends I've had the privilege to work with along the way. I'm proud of what we accomplished together and thankful for the relationships that made the journey so rewarding. As I begin this next chapter, I'm looking forward to having more flexibility, spending time on personal interests, and seeing where new opportunities may lead. Thank you to everyone who has been part of my journey. I truly appreciate your support, friendship, and collaboration over the years. I look forward to staying in touch and seeing what the future holds.

This is a Report to the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) Board of Directors, the ICANN community, and the Internet community more broadly from the ICANN Security and Stability Advisory Committee (SSAC). It provides an overview of the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) Functions—what they are—and a history of how they evolved from the informal activities of a single person into the structured set of activities that are performed today in the context of a variety of contracts and agreements. Understanding this background is particularly important as the community considers the transfer of IANA Functions stewardship from the United States government to some other, yet–to–be–determined structure.

Yet many were tasked with using IT to increase the company's efficiency, enter the few new growth markets, or fix a fundamental problem that threatened the company's ability to stay in business.
Some technology leaders rose to the challenge, despite the lack of resources. That's a common situation for many of this year's InfoWorld CTO 25 Award…For many in IT, 2009 was a nuclear winter, with resources stripped away as companies struggled to survive. Yet many were tasked with using IT to increase the company's efficiency, enter the few new growth markets, or fix a fundamental problem that threatened the company's ability to stay in business.
