It's hard to believe so much time has already passed. The job market has been insane the past couple years. And it seems demand for UI developers has been very low since AI assisted coding blew up. So I've been working to reacquaint myself with my backend skills. I was a full stack for the first ten years of my career before I decided to specialize in the front end. I really enjoy design no matter whether it's visual design or systems design. Optimizing SQL queries and database structures has always been oddly fun for me. I've worked with Python, Ruby, C#, PHP, JS, and even a tiny bit of Java, Go, and Elixir over the course of my career, although JavaScript/TypeScript and Python are my preferred languages. I've also been working with LLMs a bunch to see how they can best integrate into my workflows the past year. I've gotten really interested in locally hosted AI lately and have a neat little project I'll be sharing with the world soon in that area. Although I haven't had the budget to play with any high-end frontier models yet. If you or anyone you know is looking for a well rounded engineer with a specialty in UI, I am very much interested. I may have a gap in my resume but I have 20+ years of experience and am a quick learner with a passion for making high quality software.
