I talked about how we test & debug failures in MCP servers at MCPJam across the User-Value Chain and across clients like ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, Muse. We covered running swarms of agents acting as your users in isolated client environments, human user testing across clients, and running evals across clients + models, and automating checks against best practices. We had a "Live Fixes" portion where people brought their own agent and MCP workflows that were breaking, and we opened them up together in the room- biggest takeaways I had from attendees: - MCP cross-client failures are top of mind- one attendee put it: "I thought MCP was a standard, but then every client decides to support capabilities and not and I'm left questioning what really is standard". - MCP is key to distribution & software discovery, but knowing how to do this well is hard. Especially as more and more capabilities (like ChatGPTs Plugin Extensions as part of OpenAI Dev Day) are built on MCP. Even though I joined late (Though good welcome from Andrew Flores), here are a few key takeaways moving agents from fragile demos to production. • Sandbox Infrastructure (Mingjun Sun, GMI Cloud): Real production agents fall into three distinct lifecycles—sub-second ephemeral executions, long-running pipelines, and 24/7 digital employees. Long-running agents need checkpointing and state-resume capabilities so a crash 3 hours in doesn't blow your compute budget. • Protecting Website UI & Brand Rules : I asked Thierry Damiba how to prevent AI agents from breaking visual layouts when generating dynamic site content. The fix isn't prompt engineering—it's using gateway-level execution hooks and identity controls to restrict which tools or layout elements an agent can touch. • MCP Testing & Client Volatility (Prathmesh Patel, MCPJam): Standardizing tools with MCP is great, but LLM clients (like ChatGPT) frequently change endpoints or builds. Testing servers across multiple clients is becoming mandatory for reliability. • Job Hunting via MCP: Learned that Arcade built a dedicated MCP server where candidates' personal AI agents can apply directly to open engineering roles on their team. • Multimodal Maintenance Demo: Saw a practical hackathon pipeline where you upload an image of an electrical issue alongside a voice note, and a vision model returns step-by-step repair steps. Congrats Ali Amjad! • Code vs. Content: Interesting discussion on why software generation scales well with automated code reviews (like CodeRabbit), whereas "content factories" hit human attention limits where human creative direction remains the bottleneck. Good session focused on execution hooks, state recovery, and infrastructure boundaries rather than just bigger prompts.

Courtney Ko shared thisI’ve been building a LOT lately, so I decided to start a little series documenting what I’ve been building. First up: Roomie, which I submitted to Convex’s All Gas Hackathon with literally one minute to spare 😭 The idea came from decorating my own apartment. I didn’t just want AI to generate a pretty picture of a room; I wanted it to actually understand the space and let me make changes conversationally. With Roomie, you scan your room for ~30 seconds, and it builds an understanding of the space. Then you can say things like “add a bookshelf” and see the change visualized. The stack: → SLAM3R turns the room scan into a 3D point cloud → SpatialLM interprets the room’s spatial layout → GMI Cloud + Gemini Flash transcribes voice commands → Convex keeps the room state in sync as things change → Jev by TypeSafe AI evaluates whether a change visually fits → Decart Lucy generates the live visualization → Firecrawl + AgentMail (YC S25) help research products and hand off the project for execution The coolest part for me was connecting spatial understanding, voice, and real-time generation into one workflow. I learned a ton building this, especially around how spatial models can give AI more context about the physical world instead of just working from a flat image. More things I’ve been building soon 🫡

At MCPJam we build testing and debugging tools for MCP servers, so we see a lot of agents that fail to deliver value when connected to MCP servers in production. The cause is usually one of the same few things: - Tool discovery issues: descriptions the model misreads, so it calls the wrong tool or passes bad arguments - Connection & OAuth issues: connection & OAuth flows that pass locally and break with real AI clients - MCP servers that work well enough for users with one client+model configuration, and fails with another - No continuous evals practice, so every prompt or schema change is a guess In my talk I'll go through how we find these problems. That means inspecting an MCP server directly, tracing tool calls, debugging OAuth step by step, and running evals across models before your users find the bugs. If you have an MCP server or agent workflow that's misbehaving, bring it. I'll be there all evening and happy to open it up in MCPJam with you! Courtney Ko shared thisOkay, this one feels a little surreal 🥹 AI Valley is hosting a hackathon at the Walt Disney Family Museum, where the projects won’t just get demoed. They’ll be turned into exhibits for our AI Commerce Gallery. On October 3, we’re bringing together 100–150 builders and founders to imagine what commerce looks like when AI changes how we shop, discover, sell, and interact with businesses. And I’m especially excited about the format. You build during the day. You turn your product into an exhibit. Then we open up the Gallery Walk and let people experience what you created. I’ve organized a lot of hackathons, but I really wanted this one to feel different. Less like rows of laptops and pitch decks, and more like walking through a glimpse of what the future could actually look like. The recording is now available! 🐶 Courtney Ko took us behind the scenes of some wonderfully unconventional community events: the Dumb Hackathon, a Women in Tech Hackathon, and Dogathon. The formats were different, but the lesson connecting them was simple: people may not remember the agenda, but they remember how the room felt, the connections they made, and the story they wanted to tell afterward. A few ideas that stayed with me: ✨ Give your event a personality people can describe to a friend. ✨ Understand what might stop someone from participating, then design around it. ✨ Bring people together around a clear, shared mission. ✨ Think about the experience before, during, and after the event. Dogathon 🐶 brought builders and pet rescue organisations together, produced 38 project submissions, and helped one dog find a home.
