Cody Sharp reposted thisCody Sharp reposted thisI'm not a big social media person, but didn't want to let yesterday's Xbox layoffs go untouched. The past few years in the gaming industry have been incredibly challenging and disheartening. It's really awful to see some of the most amazing, talented professionals on the market being cut loose. I know that Fragomen isn't gaming, but we're made up of gamers, too, who have the incredible mission to help others get to where they want to be in the world. If you've been debating a switch and are interested in something we have posted, please reach out. For all else, let me know if I can help in any way. I'm always happy to facilitate any introductions, perform a quick snapshot resume review, or share memes in this dark time.

Cody Sharp shared thisBilly Vreeland is a great person to work with, always considering both sides of the AI coin, and has helped me moderate conversations about conscientious and responsible implementation of AI. If you’re looking to work with a team that’s very intentional about how they implement AI, this is a great opportunity!!Cody Sharp shared thisIt’s an exciting time at Rivian as we scale R2 production and our team is growing! ⚡ We are looking for an AI Engineer who will support our Product Development organization by implementing scalable AI tools that improve Product Development efficiency, productivity, and quality. Our mission is to bring clarity, rigor, and scale to the complex decisions required to build the world’s most adventurous electric vehicles. This is a high-velocity role at the intersection of product development, software engineering, data science, and LLM orchestration. You’ll work closely with senior technical staff to scale our AI flywheel through initiatives like: 🔨 Building the Product Development intelligence layer to unify engineering data 🔄 Deploying agentic AI workflows to automate manual engineering tasks 🚀 Running rapid AI trials to identify new ways LLMs and other models can accelerate our mission We are looking for an ambitious builder who is passionate about using AI to make engineering faster and smarter. Cody Sharp shared thisReally like how he’s articulated part of the PM playbook I’ve been following at #Rivian : 1. Conduct my customer discovery 2. Draft a product brief to get the initial green light 3. Build a functional prototype to align with devs 4. Devs build Excessively long AI generated documentation is only valuable if your entire SDLC leverages it (spoiler: if people are involved, it won’t), and if the “verification tax” isn’t over burdening. If your process requires technical artifacts, use AI. User Story x Task x Acceptance Criteria matrix, or UAT plans and test cases, sure. But don’t ask AI to draft your problem statement, outcomes, or impacts.Cody Sharp shared thisI Connected with 500 Product Managers across Microsoft, Amazon, Google, Meta, Apple, and TikTok to ask what their AI workflows actually look like. 208 accepted - 74 replied. About 20 gave substantive, behind-the-scenes breakdowns of what they run daily. The biggest unlock across every company was prototyping. PMs are no longer writing 15-page PRDs and hoping engineering interprets them right. They build working frontends and interactive prototypes directly with LLMs, then bring the live demo to the review. The second biggest use case was research synthesis. Taking dozens of customer call transcripts, feeding them into a project brain, and pulling verbatim evidence to back roadmap bets. A few PMs built sprint coordination agents that scan Jira, PRs, and emails to ping ticket owners automatically when work stalls. The real debate was agentic workflows. One PM who runs 70% of his day through agents described the ceiling cleanly: "I became a manager of my agents, but now I'm bottlenecked on the verification tax." Generation takes five seconds. Checking whether the agent hallucinated an edge case or broke a dependency takes twenty minutes. And across all 74 replies, exactly zero PMs said AI helped them align stakeholders or navigate company politics. Turns out you can automate the PRD and the prototype, but you still have to sit in the 45-minute room to convince the VP of engineering to build it.

Cody Sharp reposted thisCody Sharp reposted this🚀 Hiring: Staff Product Manager – Consumer Engagement & Retention I'm partnering with The Head of Product, CX and CPO Eugene Cherny to find a Staff Product Manager who thrives in ambiguity and loves solving hard consumer behavior problems. This isn't a backlog management role. It's for someone who can answer questions like: Why aren't users building lasting habits? What engagement mechanics actually drive retention? How do you balance member value with business outcomes? You'll own engagement and retention across Swagbucks, MyPoints, and InboxDollars, influencing millions of users through features like streaks, quests, referrals, rewards, and habit-forming experiences. If you've built consumer products with strong engagement, gamification, loyalty, or lifecycle strategies, and prefer leading through influence rather than authority I would love to connect! 📩 Send me a message or comment below if this sounds like you or someone in your network.

Cody Sharp shared thisThanks Christopher Brereton for sharing this, I had an extended conversation with John Click today about exactly this… (also, you two should connect) AI is so clunky right now. It’s brilliant, it’s doing the impossible, but damn do I get frustrated on a daily basis. I don’t live in an IDE, but I can see a future where I spend a lot of time living thereCody Sharp shared thisQuestion for the operators and systems thinkers: How are you restructuring your personal workflows as AI and tooling keep evolving? I’ve been reworking mine. What started as a simple cost cut (canceling a $350 Wix site) turned into a full rethink of my digital stack. I moved to markdown + local files so AI can read context directly. Aggregated scattered workflows into more integrated tools. Started building a system that makes AI coordination easier, not harder. It’s less about the specific tools—and more about infrastructure thinking. How do you design information flow so AI gets good inputs? I documented the process here (link in comments). Curious what experiments others are running. The tactical stuff is interesting, but the system design questions feel like the part that will really matter as this all accelerates.

Cody Sharp shared thisHere’s a taste of what I’ve been working on over at Rivian this year… TLDR: We’ve partnered with Google and 66degrees to apply the Google AI product suite to streamline operations for ~20k employees. Personally, I’m leveraging #Gemini, #NotebookLM, Atlassian’s #Rovo and other AI tools and platforms to power 5+ agentic tools for PMs and dev teams at Rivian that: 1) automate the most tedious PM and product development tasks 2) elevate the quality of our product artifacts 3) improve the speed and consistency of our initiative communications to executives and Rivian leadership Message me if you want to learn more about #AI @ Rivian, #agenticAI, or how you can start automating your rote daily tasks so you can focus on the most important value drivers.Cody Sharp shared thisI am excited to share how Rivian is accelerating its productivity with AI using Google Workspace! Tools like Gmail, Drive, and Calendar are foundational for us, and now Google’s AI tools are part of the dream team too. With Gemini and NotebookLM, we are expanding our team's capabilities, consuming more information, and the RIGHT information, and we’re able to take action faster. These powerful tools help us focus on delivering the best customer experience and product. https://lnkd.in/etG95YB2 #Rivian #GoogleWorkspace #AI #Productivity #Innovation #Gemini #NotebookLM Huge thank you to Meaghan Sullivan and the team for this awesome video experience! How Rivian is accelerating its productivity with AI using Google Workspace with GeminiHow Rivian is accelerating its productivity with AI using Google Workspace with Gemini

Cody Sharp liked thisCody Sharp liked thisYour employees will soon have better AI at home than they do at work. That dissonance is going to get awkward fast. I’ve been using Instinct, a consumer AI agent, for the past few months and it’s the first one that genuinely feels like an assistant. It lives in iMessage, handles things for me, and feels natural enough that my wife is hooked too. It reminds me of early e-commerce. In the dial-up days, I’ll never forget begging my dad to let me buy paintball gear I found online. You would’ve thought I was asking him to wire money to a criminal in a dark alley. Five days later, the box showed up at our front door. After that, buying things online just felt normal. The internet stopped feeling like a digital library and started becoming something we actually lived through. I think personal agents are about to do the same thing for AI. Right now it still feels novel to have an agent book something, make a purchase, coordinate plans, fetch information, or handle little decisions for you. Soon it won’t. And once people get used to that at home, they’re going to walk into work and wonder why they still need six systems, three approvals, and a meeting to get something simple done. That’s the second wave of AI adoption. The first wave was pushed top-down by companies. The next one gets pulled upward by people who already expect this stuff to work. If you’re building products, there’s still a window here. Minimize the interface. Make your data, functionality, and proprietary workflows easy for agents to access. Today that feels like an edge. Pretty soon it’ll just be expected.

The Bank that owns the fund Morgan Stanley, is long on the bonds that Michael is currently shorting. The rating agency was indeed selling ratings for a fee, which allowed for the arbitration opportunity. Hence the title: “ The Big Short “ #finance #banking #careers #movies #money J.P. Cody Sharp reacted on thisCody Sharp reacted on thisSome news. I'm leaving solution engineering management to join our Applied AI team, where I'll focus on portfolio and program management for Enterprise Applied AI where AI engineering is a supporting arm I'll be working very closely with. The timing isn't a coincidence. Two shifts are moving through the industry. AI-DLC processes are speeding up how the work gets done, and the way organizations decide which work is worth doing is changing right alongside it. Demand is high, but ROI alone no longer makes the case. Financial return gets weighed against strategic alignment, and agentic portfolio governance is fast becoming the standard for how that gets managed. I'm excited to work in that lane and stand up balance across strategic prioritization, security and stability, and continuous cost optimization across the lifecycle. All of it feeds the enterprise value chain, so the highest value work is what gets taken on and delivered. I'm here for it. Let's go! #AI #EnterpriseAI #PorfolioGovernance #Leadership

We need jobs to stay in Los Angeles. After 26 years working in the TV & Film industry, I’ve seen firsthand how many people depend on production happening right here in LA. This industry is so much bigger than what people see on the screen. Behind every production are thousands of hardworking professionals — crews working long hours, transportation teams keeping everything moving, vendors supplying essential services, and local businesses that rely on this work to support their employees and families. Over the years, I’ve built relationships across every part of this industry, and one thing has always stood out: this business runs on community. When productions leave Los Angeles, it doesn’t just impact studios — it impacts the crews, the vendors, the drivers, the small businesses, and the local economy that have supported this industry for generations. Los Angeles has the talent. Los Angeles has the infrastructure. Los Angeles has the experience. Now we need the jobs to stay here. Proud to stand with the incredible people who make this industry work every single day. 🎬 #StayInLA #FilmIndustry #ProductionCommunity #SupportLocal #EntertainmentIndustry #WomenInEntertainment
