Mukund Balasubramanian reposted thisMukund Balasubramanian reposted thisSharing a video of my journey to my first full Ironman in the comment below because… It’s T-minus 5 weeks until the #IronmanWorldChampionships in Kona, and training is getting longer and tougher. The alarm goes off at 5:00 AM so I can be in the pool by 5:30. After that, it's home for another short workout before heading into the office to work alongside my amazing colleagues, while giving my body a chance to recover for the next day. Weekends are no easier. Saturdays are filled with 80-100 mile rides in the "cool" Las Vegas breeze 😊, followed by long runs on Sundays. Then it's rinse and repeat. Am I tired? Absolutely. Am I committed? Without a doubt. I've completed 13 Ironman races, but this one is different. This is the race where I have committed more of my mind, body, and soul than ever before. Why? Because this journey is about more than me. It's about supporting a greater mission: raising funds through the Wynn Resorts Foundation for two incredible nonprofit organizations, Inspiring Children Foundation and the Alzheimer's Association®. Many of us have friends or family members who have been affected by mental health challenges or Alzheimer's disease, making this cause deeply personal for so many. A heartfelt thank you to the 50 donors who have already opened their hearts and contributed. Your generosity and support mean more than I can express, and I am truly grateful. I was incredibly fortunate to make it out that morning. So many others did not. 9/11 changed the way I look at life. It taught me that tomorrow is never guaranteed. That time is precious. That we should never take a day - or the people in our lives - for granted. Live fully. Make time for the people you love. Be there for one another. Say what needs to be said. And don’t wait for tomorrow to do something that matters. Those are lessons I have tried to carry with me ever since - in my life, as a father, as a friend, and as a leader. I spend a tremendous part of my life with the people I work alongside, and I genuinely think of my team (and colleagues) as an extension of my family. What we accomplish together matters, but the people behind the work matter far more. Today, I remember the friends, colleagues and thousands of others who lost their lives, the families whose lives were forever changed, and the extraordinary courage and humanity we witnessed that day. Life is short. Make it count. Take care of each other. And for those who were there with me that morning, four words I will never forget: “Remember the arches.”

DLF Downtown, Taramani. 250 plus jobs in year one. Further expansion planned. Two things stood out to me in this announcement. First, the location within Chennai. Taramani is not a random choice. It sits inside one of Chennai's most established technology corridors, close to the IIT Madras Research Park cluster. Companies that set up there are deliberately positioning themselves to access engineering talent that has been building in that ecosystem for over a decade. Second, the framing. Global technology and business operations. Not back office. Not support functions. Walgreens is building something that sits at the centre of how they run globally. Starbucks signed a similar MoU the same week. JPMorgan announced Asia's largest GCC in Mumbai a month ago. This is not a cluster of coincidences. This is the India GCC market in a phase where the question has stopped being whether to build and started being where and how fast. Mukund Balasubramanian liked thisI have some news to share - my amazing, happy, fun, challenging, and fulfilling role at the Avis Budget Group concludes today after a fantastic four years. I am super proud of and indebted to the technology, global operations, and the senior leadership teams for coming together to drive the cultural and technology transformation needed to usher in a new era for the company. Together, we achieved world class systems reliability and performance, deployed brand new mobile and desktop digital platforms, consolidated global data warehouses, launched new products to serve customers better, and built/deployed meaningful AI solutions across our business and technology functions. Needless to say, any transformation traverses significant phases, and with the incredible foundation we’ve created, the next phases of transformation will be well within reach to drive greater and sustained business outcomes. A huge shout out to Jeff Kaelin, Bhupesh Menon, Sanna Daalder, Aynsley Toole and Edward Keenan Jr. on my leadership team, and the entire technology team for their invaluable contributions in driving the agenda. Over the past two years, we've brought Alaska and Hawaiian together, launched Atmos Rewards™ and expanded our global network, all while running the most on-time airline in the U.S. Today, we're unveiling the next chapter in our plan. For Alaska Airlines, it’s Aurora – our highest expression of the brand and an end-to-end premium experience spanning private check-in, Lounges, dining and lie-flat Suites. We’re bringing Aurora Suites to our 787s and, for the first time, a true suite-style experience to transcontinental flying on at least 25 new 737-10s. For Hawaiian Airlines, it’s Leihōkū – the most elevated expression of the Hawaiian Airlines brand. Guests will have dedicated check-in and access to a new Lounge in Honolulu, redesigned cabins on our entire A330 fleet including new lie-flat Leihōkū Suites, plus dining and amenities. There’s much more in today’s announcements, including Premium Reserve, new Lounges and more ways to engage with Atmos Rewards. Enterprise control has to keep pace. Today, NVIDIA announced the NVIDIA Open Agent Safety Platform, an open software platform and reference system design to strengthen AI security from agent testing to deployment, helping organizations secure and govern AI agents as they take on more autonomous work. It's the right move at the right moment, and IBM is proud to support this effort, from agent identity and credentials to infrastructure, storage and hybrid cloud. As agents gain more autonomy, trust can’t stop at the model. Enterprises need to know who an agent is, what it’s allowed to do, what it actually did and be able to enforce those boundaries. She asked me not to make a big deal of it, so I'll try to keep this about what I learned rather than about her. You're Going to Be Fine, Probably: A Guide to 49 Situations is a self-help book for teens, written by a teen. Forty-nine everyday situations with friends, parents, and relationships, two years of writing and rewriting, about 30,000 words. It is on Amazon in Kindle and paperback: https://a.co/d/0i03Eoai Three things stayed with me watching this happen. First, I have built a lot of things in my career, but I am not sure I could do what she did. Writing a book is not just tedious and time-consuming during years that already matter a lot. It means putting your own thinking on a page and letting strangers read it. That takes a kind of courage that has nothing to do with skill. Second, the generation gap is real and it is widening faster than we think. As an immigrant parent, I have often found myself giving advice from a world that no longer exists. A teen explaining these situations to other teens, in their own language, fills a gap that parents like me cannot. I learned things from reading it. Third, she did not stop at the book. She built mycirra.com so someone can talk through a situation, practice a hard conversation before having it for real, and get guidance grounded in the book itself. A book only helps if you open it; she built the thing that helps you open it. If you have a teenager, or you were one once and remember how confusing it was, take a look. And if you are a parent trying to keep up with a world your kids understand better than you do, it might help you too.
