Natalie Bowman shared thisLounges, lie-flats and loyalty. Oh my. So many great things coming for Alaska.Natalie Bowman shared thisI think you're going to like what's next. Over the past two years, we've brought Alaska and Hawaiian together, launched Atmos Rewards™ and expanded our global network, all while running the most on-time airline in the U.S. Today, we're unveiling the next chapter in our plan. For Alaska Airlines, it’s Aurora – our highest expression of the brand and an end-to-end premium experience spanning private check-in, Lounges, dining and lie-flat Suites. We’re bringing Aurora Suites to our 787s and, for the first time, a true suite-style experience to transcontinental flying on at least 25 new 737-10s. For Hawaiian Airlines, it’s Leihōkū – the most elevated expression of the Hawaiian Airlines brand. Guests will have dedicated check-in and access to a new Lounge in Honolulu, redesigned cabins on our entire A330 fleet including new lie-flat Leihōkū Suites, plus dining and amenities. There’s much more in today’s announcements, including Premium Reserve, new Lounges and more ways to engage with Atmos Rewards. We plan to raise the experience no matter which seat you are in – through the care our teams provide, the food we serve, the technology we offer and all the details that add up along the way. It’s a transformational moment, and I’m incredibly proud of our teams who are building it and delivering it.

Natalie Bowman shared thisUnreal. I have been to Paris 12 times, and I am ready to double that number now.Natalie Bowman shared thisYou are among the first to know: We'll serve Paris and Athens nonstop from Seattle starting in spring. We fly where our guests aspire to go, and Paris and Athens have been high on that list for years. As Alaska Airlines builds to more than 12 international long-haul routes from Seattle in the coming years, we're giving travelers more ways to connect to the world and more opportunities to use Atmos Rewards. This global growth is only possible because of the people across our airline who take care of our guests and deliver safe and reliable operations. I'm so proud of what we're building together.

Natalie Bowman reposted thisI’ve always viewed software architecture as the place where vision, storytelling, design, and technology come together. It helps us choose the right building blocks, understand how they fit together, and decide whether we need to build something at all. Architecture also gives teams a shared language for where we are going and why. I’m grateful and excited to share that we are hiring two Senior Principal Solutions Architects, one focused on Mobile and one on Applications. These are unique opportunities to shape the future of our digital guest experience as we modernize across Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines in an AI-assisted development world. I’m looking for people who can set architectural direction, define reusable building blocks and guardrails, communicate complex tradeoffs clearly, and influence technical decisions across teams. Natalie Bowman reposted thisNatalie Bowman reposted thisWrapping up my follow-ups from UserTesting's Crafted conference last week, and I'd be remiss not to shout out a few folks that I especially enjoyed learning from. Lija Hogan shared some great thoughts on a challenge many researchers face: how to communicate the ROI of research in a way that resonates with the business. Mike McDowell 🎤 and Jennifer Laramie Artabane gave an exciting look at where the product is headed and how customer feedback continues to shape better decisions. And Jennifer Aaker delivered a reminder that felt especially important right now: even as AI becomes part of nearly everything we do, understanding customers still comes down to spending real quality time with people. The companies that stay closest to their customers will ALWAYS have an advantage. A special congratulations to Alaska Airlines on receiving an Illumi Award. It has been a joy working with this small but mighty research team, and getting to see their hard work recognized. Clasonda Armstrong-Grandison, Ana Rodriguez, Keelin Dillon, can't wait to continue to watch y'all kill it. 💪 Thanks to the UserTesting team (Anissa Alvarez and Noelle Peterson, B2B-I, DES, CEP especially because of how many questions they fielded from me ❤️ ) for a wonderful event. Can't wait for 2027!

Natalie Bowman reposted thisNatalie Bowman reposted thisI'm very excited to be posting for one of the most critical and highly leveraged roles on Alaska Airlines Global Sales team. The ‘MD, US & Global Strategic Sales’ will lead our Lower 48 US corporate and agency sales team(s), including global strategic accounts. This (Seattle based) senior leader will be responsible for establishing the strategic goals and direction for a broad team of sales professionals to acquire new business and grow established account revenue through corporate partners, agencies, travel management companies (TMC’s), and Atmos for Business (Alaska Air Group’s SMB tool). This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly driven and proven commercial airline sales leader to join Alaska at a time of rapid growth and help accelerate our indirect sales strategy as we expand our domestic and global network. Natalie Bowman liked thisThere’s something nice about the space between one chapter and the next. The past few weeks have been a time of transition in more ways than one. I recently wrapped up five-and-a-half years at Amazon and also became an empty nester as my twins headed off to their respective colleges. It’s been a pretty special moment to pause, reset, and take it all in. At Amazon, I had the opportunity to experience the industry from a new perspective, learn something different every day, and work with an incredible team at Fire TV. Now, I’m excited to share what’s next: I’m joining NBCUniversal. I’m thrilled for what’s ahead, the work we’ll get to do, and the people I’ll get to do it with! Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey with me. https://lnkd.in/gyMZe7Z4NBCUniversal Hires Amazon Exec Jamia Bigalow as EVP of Marketing for Platform Distribution and PartnershipsNBCUniversal Hires Amazon Exec Jamia Bigalow as EVP of Marketing for Platform Distribution and Partnerships

Natalie Bowman liked thisNatalie Bowman liked thisBret Taylor and I are excited to announce that Julia Brau Donnelly will be joining Sierra as our Chief Financial Officer. Julia has seen companies from almost every side: as an investment banker, a private-equity investor, an operator at Wayfair, and as CFO of Pinterest. That range of experience and adaptability is so valuable in an industry that is changing at a pace none of us have seen before. Most of all, Julia embodies our culture: low ego, high agency, and excited to roll up her sleeves to get the work done. And there’s a lot of building to do. Just two and a half years since launch, Sierra has become the leading customer-facing conversational AI platform. The business is growing much faster than even our most optimistic predictions, hitting $100M in ARR in just seven quarters and $200M in nine quarters. We now work with over 40% of the Fortune 50, one in three of the leading banks, five out of 10 of the largest healthcare companies in the world, and 25% of the IBEX 35. With the shift from one-and-done service agents to revenue-aligned long-horizon agents, the opportunity for Sierra just got much, much bigger. Julia — welcome to Sierra! We’re all so excited to have you on the team.

Natalie Bowman liked thisNatalie Bowman liked thisYou may not agree with this but you'll certainly want to read this: Connecting the dots among 5 online travel CEOs speaking at Skift Global Forum last week, it's clear that the word "distribution" is totally inadequate for where we are. That's why I like to use the word "commerce" and also the title of our Skift Commerce Summit coming up in NYC. "AI may not replace Google with another dominant gatekeeper. Instead, it is separating travel intent, recommendation, transaction, and service. One company can be the interface for one trip, the infrastructure for another, and the fulfillment layer for a third."That last line, to me, is the most fascinating tension in online travel right now... Natalie Bowman liked thisNatalie Bowman liked thisEvaluating the traveler experience IRL is one of the best parts of this job. Testing seats, sampling dishes, getting to touch and feel. I did plenty of that in Seattle this week, where Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines previewed what's next for the combined company at a product showcase for media and investors. There were a lot of announcements. Instead of covering them all, I went deep on one: Alaska’s entry into the premium transcon market. In airline speak, that's a small set of high-dollar, fiercely competitive routes (think: New York to Los Angeles) with lie-flat seats and upgraded food and drink. For my Substack, I wrote about why Alaska could go from the laggard to a leader on these routes, when the experience rolls out in 2028. Thanks to Cailee (Olson) Lyngaas, Marissa V., and team for hosting. https://lnkd.in/gxJ6k9Jt

Natalie Bowman liked thisNatalie Bowman liked thisBooking.com just removed one tiny field and the impact for hotels could be HUGE! Booking.com will 𝐧𝐨 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐝𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭’𝐬 𝐩𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐧𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 in reservation data sent to connected PMSs and channel managers. Ouch. This matters far more than it might sound. New bookings. Modifications. Cancellations. NO phone number flowing through. Back in 2018 I was part of the team launching one of the first guest communication tools in hospitality. Getting that mobile number was THE foundation of the strategy. Why? Because so many hotels have since built their pre-arrival guest journey around it. WhatsApp messages. SMS. Pre-arrival upsells. Check-in information. Arrival instructions. Direct guest communication. For many operators that phone number became a pretty important piece of guest experience infrastructure. Yes Booking.com says hotels can 𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭 retrieve the number through the Extranet when needed but thats very different from having it automatically available within the systems powering the guest journey. One tiny data field but potentially a very big operational change. Just another reminder of how dependent today's guest journey has become on the data sitting between hotels, OTAs and their technology partner. With so much focus on the impact of Agentic agents on the guest journey, how about we tackle this problem first! --- Hey I'm Danica 🫡 I’ve spent 15 years obsessing over better guest experiences, smarter growth and the people behind it all. Natalie Bowman liked thisNatalie Bowman liked thisNow introducing Aurora Suites and Premium Reserve! Years in the making, but I’m so excited to finally have this work out in the world. Translating the Alaska Airlines brand into a global premium cabin interior has been one of the greatest challenges, honors, and a career bucket list body of work. So much of this would not have been possible without the talented work of ACLA Studio who have been on this design journey with us from start. When we set out on this project, the goal was to create something respectfully new that showcased honest materials, natural textures, elevated finishes, and truly Alaska Airlines. Across our new products you’ll see modern nods to our PNW roots. Whether it’s our Sitka Spruce Wood providing guests a warm welcome, Bering Blue leather bringing a warm elevated evolution of our Midnight Blue, the Emerald accents that evoke the dancing greens of the Aurora Borealis, or the brass sconce lights popularized in our Alaska lounges, a handcrafted cabin experience awaits. Looking to rolling these changes out late next year on our 787-9s, and in 2028 on our 787-10s, and my personal favorite, the Transcon 737-10 MAX.

What really brings both Hawaiian Airlines and Alaska Airlines to life is our people - whether sharing genuine Hawaiian hosptiality or remarkable care and connection - our teams make us who we are. These investments continue to give them even better tools to support them in taking care of our guests while staying deeply connected to culture and place - and set us up for a strong and thriving future. For Hawaiian, we're expanding our Leihōkū experience across the travel journey and sharing the future for our A330 widebody aircraft interiors, Hawai‘i airports and Honolulu lounge. Beginning in 2028, there'll be 22 lie-flat Leihōkū Suites on Hawaiian’s redesigned Airbus A330 fleet, serving as our premium front-cabin experience as First Class on domestic routes and Business Class on international routes. The redesigned A330 will provide the only four-class offering at scale between Hawai‘i and North America - with Leihōkū Suites, Premium Reserve, Premium Class and Main Cabin. The tip-to-tail updates, high-quality meal offerings from local chefs, Hawai‘i-based onboard product partners and of course the genuine Hawaiian hospitality of our crews means an exceptional experience for every guest. “Natalie is the most decisive leader I have ever come across, and I credit this to her mindset that 'clear is kind.' I worked on Natalie's team for three and a half years and benefited from incredible growth as a marketer during that time. Natalie challenged me daily to perform at a higher level while consistently being open to me experimenting with any idea if provided rationale. She fosters an environment of thinking big, provides strategic vision, and over-delivers on enterprise goals. If you have the chance to work with Natalie in any capacity, do it. You'll learn more than you could imagine.”

At Advertising Week in New York, Kristi Argyilan of Uber and Don Vassel of Delta Air Lines shared a compelling vision for the future of customer relationships — one built through data collaboration that transforms isolated transactions into meaningful, connected experiences. Imagine this journey: while booking a Delta flight, you receive an offer for Uber Reserve, seamlessly connect with your driver upon landing, and order from Uber Eats en route so your meal is waiting when you arrive. Each touchpoint is contextually relevant — and collectively, they deepen loyalty. As Vihan Sharma highlighted, this is what happens when brands collaborate responsibly with data — enabled by LiveRamp ’s interoperable platform, designed to protect privacy — to deliver value for customers while building long-term trust and engagement. A fascinating discussion about what it takes to move beyond transactions to consumer experiences that build loyalty

Most travel brands I talk to think their paid media is broken. Then we dig into the numbers and find a $750 customer acquisition cost driving $30,000 trips with 25% margins. That's not broken. That's a machine. So what's actually the problem? Had a strategy call recently with a luxury safari and expedition brand. Multi-destination, multi-channel, complex inventory across Africa, South America, and the Galápagos. Their paid performance looked solid on paper. But here's what they were wrestling with: They couldn't connect keyword-level data to actual revenue. Manual stitching, duct tape analytics, CRM in mid-construction. So they had no real baseline to optimize against. Their budget had to serve everything — brand, performance, new product launches, distressed inventory — all from the same constrained pool. And they were stuck in reactive mode. Money went wherever the fire was, not where the opportunity lived. Sound familiar? The thing is, you can have efficient paid media and still be leaving money on the table. If you can't trace a click to a closed booking, you're flying blind. If your offline conversion data isn't feeding back into the ad platform, Google can't learn what a qualified lead looks like versus the 85% that never convert. Here's what I told them: before we talk about scaling spend, we need to know if there's room between your current CAC and what's actually possible. If we can shave 10% off that acquisition cost, that's not just savings — it's headroom for more qualified leads, more bookings, more margin. Small budgets demand precision. You can't afford to spray and pray. Every dollar has to pull weight. So if your paid performance looks "fine" but you're not sure if it's actually working, start here: Can you connect a keyword to a booking? If not, that's the gap worth closing first. ------- For more travel marketing insights, subscribe to our bi-weekly deep dive, the NavLog. Five questions to quickly evaluate your kosher program A lot of airlines and hotels tell me, “We offer kosher, so we’re covered.” But if you want to know whether your kosher offering actually matches your brand, here are five simple questions to ask internally: 1️⃣ Would you be comfortable serving this meal to a non-kosher VIP? If the answer is no, that says a lot. 2️⃣ Does the meal visually resemble what other passengers or guests are eating? Or does it look like it was sourced from a completely different place? 3️⃣ Do you know who is actually producing your kosher meals and how they handle safety, supervision, and logistics? Or is it just “a supplier our caterer uses”? 4️⃣ Could you cover a last minute change or disruption for kosher passengers? Or is your system built only for long lead times and ideal conditions? 5️⃣ When was the last time someone from your team actually tasted the kosher meal? Many teams haven’t tried what they’re serving. If these questions are uncomfortable, that doesn’t mean you’ve failed. It just means there’s room to bring your kosher program up to the same standard as the rest of your operation. This is exactly the work we do every day at Dimensions Kosher’s airline division helping partners move from “we technically offer kosher” to “we’re proud of what we serve.” #DimensionsKosher #KosherTravel #AirlineCatering #PassengerExperience #InflightServices #PremiumLounges #HotelFandB #AviationIndustry #HospitalityProcurement #SpecialMeals

One of the clearest shifts in our 2026 State of Social Media in Travel report is how travel search has moved away from search engines and onto social platforms. In 2022 social search accounted for less than 1% of total views, and in 2025 that grew to over 22%. And they're even using more conversational prompts to search instead of just keywords. Travel brands that understand these shifts can start capitalising on them, and tailoring content that's set up to be discovered. It's the first and most important step today to getting your destinations or experiences seen – which leads to them being remembered and considered. We break this down in more detail, including what metrics actually matter on social media platforms now, and how destinations are adapting, in the full report. Check it out in the comments.
