WHAT IS TRANSPORTATION PARTNERSHIP?
The Food For Free Transportation Partnership program is a collaboration with The Greater Boston Food Bank (GBFB) and the Cambridge Food Pantry Network (CFPN), coordinated by the Cambridge Economic Opportunity Committee (CEOC).
By leveraging our fleet of vehicles to provide delivery services to smaller food pantries without vehicles of their own, we ensure they can fully take advantage of donated food to serve the people in their communities.
HOW DOES TRANSPORTATION PARTNERSHIP WORK?
The Transportation Partnership program offers food deliveries to CFPN member locations. Our logistics team picks up food orders for these organizations from the Greater Boston Food Bank and delivers them to pantries and food distribution sites.
Participating food programs use the GBFB website to place their orders—which may include USDA items, donated foods, or food purchased through the Massachusetts Emergency Food Assistance Program (MEFAP)—and our logistics specialists deliver them according to an established weekly schedule.
