Mihaela Vata is a security and intelligence expert with nearly 20 years of experience spanning national security, counter-terrorism, forensic intelligence, corporate investigations, and financial-crime risk advisory. She previously served with the Romanian Intelligence Service as an analyst and advisor on operational and strategic matters, and later led corporate intelligence engagements -- including investigations and due diligence, reputational risk and crisis monitoring, and geopolitical intelligence -- as Head of Corporate Intelligence Practice at NSSG. Her private-sector background also includes senior project management at Interdiligence and sanctions and AML/CFT risk screening and advisory at ComplyAdvantage. A graduate of Russian language and area studies, she maintains a particular focus on Russia and the former Soviet space alongside her broader work in investigations, consultancy, and fraud/AML. She is an alumna of the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies and holds advanced degrees in National Security Intelligence Management.
