Happy birthday Solidity! 🎂 And we're marking the occasion the best way we know how: Solidity v0.8.36 is out! This release brings Amsterdam EVM support, important bugfixes for the inheritance linearization and Yul optimizer, and continued progress on stack-too-deep mitigation.

An update on Solidity for the first half of 2026, across Classic and Core. Classic: the experimental SSA-CFG backend now fixes stack-too-deep and lays the groundwork for faster compile times. Core: real contracts now compile and run end-to-end. More on both below.
