I founded GOTU after surviving a violent crime. As I navigated my own survivorship journey, I realized something that changed the course of my career: victimized persons are too often expected to rebuild our lives without timely access to the information, resources, and support we need to truly recover. That realization became a question: What if we didn't just improve how we respond to violence, but worked to prevent it in the first place? Drawing on my lived experience, my professional background, and years of research, I came to understand that prevention isn't separate from supporting victimized persons. In fact, it's foundational to it. That belief is why GOTU exists. Our work is grounded in the idea that preventing sexual violence strengthens individuals, families, workplaces, and communities. When we invest in prevention, we're reducing harm and creating the conditions for all people to thrive. My experience may have inspired this work, but our mission is focused on creating a future where fewer people ever have to walk the path I did. #founder #socialimpact #hr #teacher

We were pleased to support the Auckland Women's Centre on a pro bono basis by reviewing the ‘Aotearoa Free from Stalking Response Guide’. This important community resource helps people understand stalking and harassment, and access information about safety, support pathways and legal protections. The Auckland Women’s Centre supports women with a range of programmes and resources designed to support their wellbeing, independence, and connection to community.

"[FORE's] new round of community grantees includes the Metro Youth Diversion Center in Minneapolis. The center plans to update its culturally crafted curriculum in response to changing #drug use trends while also doing community outreach. The center primarily serves immigrants from East Africa.
