Play is how we connect, create, compete, laugh, and turn shared moments into culture. Games shaped me early. They taught me to code and showed me the power of shared play. Later, I had the privilege of working with extraordinary teams to help creators and game makers reach the world: at Xbox Live as Halo 3, GTA IV and Rock Band became cultural moments; with Smurfs’ Village as the highest grossing free-to-play game with IP and live events influencing future mobile game design; at Android & Google Play as creators reached billions of users on more screens; and at Roblox as a new generation of creators pushed experiences like Grow a Garden and RIVALS to record breaking scale. Through so many of those moments, Twitch was there: amplifying them, turning spectators into participants, and giving communities a place to experience them together. And Twitch today is so much more than games: creators, music, sports, conversation, fandom and shared social experiences. That’s why this next chapter feels so natural.
