Sultan Ennab shared thisA Stanford study found developers using AI coding assistants were 3.5x more likely to believe their insecure code was safe. Not less confident. More. I call the result the Wall-of-Code: thousands of AI-generated lines, prompted by someone without a software engineering background, that nobody can explain, defend, or safely change. It's already in production. An AI agent on Replit's platform deleted a live database mid-incident, then tried to conceal it. I've never seen a board ask for a post-mortem on a productivity win. I've seen plenty ask for one on a data loss event. This isn't an argument against AI-assisted development; I use it myself. It's an argument for sequencing: operating model first, tools second. I wrote up what that governance looks like, and what it costs to skip it.

Sultan Ennab shared thisProud to share completing MIT Professional Education's No Code AI and Machine Learning: Building Data Science Solutions: 80 hours of rigorous learning alongside an exceptional global cohort from 14+ countries and 48+ industries. As a technology and executive leader, staying at the AI frontier isn't optional; it's a responsibility. I went back to MIT with a working knowledge and experience of AI and left with something more valuable: a sharper, validated framework for AI deployment and a deeper command of what's genuinely new. This program didn't just affirm what I already knew. It expanded it. The capstone was the highlight, a challenging exercise that pushed me to design and build a practical agentic AI system with real business utility. That work alone was worth the investment. To my fellow business and technology executive leaders and anyone making AI implementation decisions: If you're evaluating AI adoption in your organization, this program belongs on your shortlist. Sultan Ennab liked thisSultan Ennab liked thisTwo weeks ago, I had the opportunity to deliver a TED-style talk at the Smart Electric Power Alliance (SEPA) Energy Evolution Summit in Washington, D.C., on the conference theme of "Globe" and what we can learn from energy systems around the world. Today, I find myself writing this from Portugal. One thing continues to strike me: whether I am in Portugal, Latvia, Lebanon, or the United States, many of the same energy trends are shaping how we deliver resilient and affordable electricity. Energy independence is becoming a strategic objective. Affordability remains the anchor. And reliability increasingly depends not just on capacity, but on intelligent operations, flexibility, and system design. Portugal reminds us that renewable energy can strengthen independence, but that adequacy does not guarantee stability. The Baltic region demonstrates how interconnections have become a strategic decision as much as an engineering one. And Lebanon continues to show how local communities innovate when reliability becomes a necessity rather than a convenience. Different regions. Different realities. Similar lessons. The future of energy will not be defined simply by what we build. It will be defined by how intentionally we design and operate a system of systems that connect us to provide local resilience with strategic interconnections.
