Stephen Chin shared thisIt was amazing to keynote the #TheAIConference with my talk about GraphRAG: The Definitive Guide. And great to be speaking right before the legend Tim O'Reilly about a new O'Reilly book. I am sure Ben Lorica 罗瑞卡 planned it that way. 😁 You can download the full early access book for free here. Enjoy! https://lnkd.in/e78jczDx

Stephen Chin reposted thisStephen Chin reposted thisI had the opportunity to give a few words for the ending keynote at AI Engineer Paris. I talked about how I got into teaching kids and the kids workshop I taught this weekend. With AI and Mistral Vibe, I taught a workshop where kids are able to build any game which they can think of. This was an amazing conference and I was really happy to be a part of it!

Stephen Chin shared thisIt was amazing to see what the French kids were able to do with Mistral Vibe. And a huge thanks to AI Engineer for supporting this kids event series across the whole conference series. 🎉 We are running another kids event at AI Engineer NYC, so if you are in the tristate metro and have kids 9-15 years old, sign up for free here: https://luma.com/ly2cshvwStephen Chin shared thisI taught a kids workshop at AI Engineer Paris 🇫🇷 this weekend. We had kids and volunteers from AI Tinkerers. The kids learned how to build their own game using Mistral Vibe. Kids came up with many creative ideas such as building an rpg game, a platformer, and a balloon popping game.👾 It was inspiring to watch the kids type their ideas in French, and the AI model could understand and help them build their games. The other workshop taught by Henry Collie was inspired from the Phippy's AI Friend book which I wrote.🦒📕 He had the idea to have a couple kids read the book in French and English, switching turns for each page. It was very heartwarming! 🥰 We also had Lauren Cohn who was here helping to take footage of the workshop and interviewing kids. She composed an amazing video about the event which will be played in the ending keynotes of AI Engineer Paris. It is great to see French kids embracing AI and expanding their creativity! 🧑💻🤖✨ Abdoulaye DOUCOURE Alisdair Broshar Raouf Chebri Yolande Poirier Stephen Chin

Stephen Chin shared thisI had the honor of hosting the Graph and AI panel at GraohSummit NYC with the leaders driving innovation in the finance, life sciences, and technology sector. A.big thanks to my panelists: Neeraj Deshmukh, Kerry Khoo-Fazari, PhD Engineering, and Drew Palsgrove. Also, Emil Eifrem was.amazing on stage and announced a new Neo4j financial offering with Christophe Willemsen, Sudhir Hasbe did an amazing fireside chat with Harsh Acharya on Dell's AI transformation, and Adam Cowley, Jeremy Morgan, and Jennifer Reif ran an amazing workshop/hackathon on GraphRAG. An amazing kickoff to the very very fall AI conference lineup! 🎉

Stephen Chin shared thisLeave it to the AI Engineer team to come up with a puzzle that stumps frontier models. 🤣 swyx Lia McBrideStephen Chin shared thisMy Dad brought home the AI Engineer Speaker Dinner gift and ChatGPT was so good at making Godot games for AI Engineer Kids Day that I decided to use it to solve the puzzle. ChatGPT 5.5 High thought for 6m and 18s and decided it was a 2x3 rectangle! ⬛⬛⬛ ⬛⬛⬛ 😵💫🤖💥 My Mom stared at it for 1 minute while I played with the pieces and told me to make into a cube. Conclusion: Use AI for coding, not thinking. 🤣

Stephen Chin reposted thisStephen Chin reposted thisWe had a great AI Engineer Kids Day Event where we taught the next generation of AI Developers Machine Learning, Claude Code, and Codex. In only a few hours they built games like corn mazes 🌽 and banana simulators 🍌. it was great to see their creativity unlocked with AI and they learned valuable skills they need for the future.🧑💻🐱🦒🌈 A big thanks to AI Engineer and Neo4j for supporting this event and Kaitlyn Hornbuckle for teaching the Godot Engine workshop.

Stephen Chin shared thisCome join us for the inaugural AI Engineer Kids Day event this Sunday! Kids (and their parents) and Volunteers welcome. 🎉Stephen Chin shared thisThis is a fun, full-day event where kids learn and experiment with the latest AI 🎮✨Next week in SF, we’re hosting our very first AI Engineer Kids Day—a hands-on playground for curious minds. This is not a lecture. It’s a day of building, experimenting, and having fun: 👾 Create your own 3D game 🔌 Play with sensors and real-world tech 🤖 Build with AI tools like Claude Led by amazing educators Cassandra Chin and Kaitlyn Hornbuckle, kids (9–15) won’t just learn tech—they’ll make things with it. Parents: This is the kind of day where your kid comes home saying “Look what I built!” (and honestly… you might be a little jealous) Come as a family, or volunteer and help spark that moment 💙 → https://lnkd.in/g7X256_F → Volunteer: https://lnkd.in/g9ji33Tc When: July 1st from 12:30pm to 4:30pm Where: the Digital Jungle in San Francisco In collaboration with Cyril Attia, AI Engineer, Devoxx4Kids, Arun Gupta, Stephen Chin, Neo4j, Yolande Poirier

Rubbish in 🗑️ = rubbish out 🗑️ If you drop a 20-page SOP or a 200-shape Visio into Process Manager and expect magic…🧙 you’ll get exactly what you fed it. Big documents aren’t “one process”. They’re collections of loosely structured ideas. This blog breaks down a smarter approach: - Structure first (APQC aligned). - Groups before processes. - Clean, verb first prompts. - Human review before AI generation. Because AI will accelerate whatever you give it — good or bad. If you care about turning messy documentation into usable, scalable process frameworks, this is worth the read. New blog post: A Fork in the Road: Deciding Kafka's Diskless Future. Kafka is getting serious about S3 and finds itself at an architectural crossroads that will shape its next decade. Several new KIPs (1150, 1176, 1183) aim to reduce replication costs across cloud availability zones, but the implications go far beyond networking cost. It’s a mistake to think of S3 as simply a cheaper disk or a networking cheat. Building on object storage opens the door to operational benefits such as elastic, stateless compute — something many modern analytics systems already exploit. In my latest post, I outline two competing future paths: 🔹 Evolutionary path: Reuse large parts of existing Kafka components to reduce code changes and long-term maintenance. 🔹 Revolutionary path: Separate stateless and stateful layers to realize the full operational benefits of disaggregated storage. The post examines the trade-offs of each path, how the current KIPs map to these two paths and poses a broader question: what should Kafka become? And what will keep it relevant in the decade ahead? https://lnkd.in/d4E2BAe4

Your data already lives in FileMaker — now make it intelligent. Many organizations want to build private LLMs from their own documents, images, and data — but not on someone else’s cloud, and certainly not on infrastructure that can be accessed or monitored by third parties. With FileMaker as the foundation, you can create a secure, on-premises AI ecosystem that keeps everything under your control: Centralized data management — Your FileMaker system already stores structured and unstructured assets that can feed a custom LLM. No external exposure — Run AI models and vector indexes locally, ensuring zero government or cloud access. Integrated workflows — Use FileMaker scripts, containers, and APIs to embed, query, and visualize results right inside your existing solution. Scalable architecture — Start with one server and scale out securely as your AI capabilities grow. At hind-smith.com inc., we help FileMaker-based organizations turn decades of data into private, intelligent systems — on their own servers, behind their own firewalls. 🔒 Your FileMaker. Your data. Your model.
