Stephen Meyles liked thisStephen Meyles liked thisWhen I joined Amperity nine years ago, it was for more than just a role. I was joining the mission: empower brands to use data to better serve their customers and build a culture to fuel our collective success. 3,273 days later...today feels a lot like Day 1, but with a stronger foundation to operate from and an opportunity that is presenting itself to be much bigger than I could have appreciated when I joined. High quality, contextualized customer data will be the fuel that drives personalized experiences at scale in the agentic era. Capitalizing on the moments that matter has never been more important. I'm thrilled to have Kabir Shahani and Derek Slager serving in a co-ceo capacity and look forward to the role I get to play alongside the entire Amperity team in this next chapter of our story!

Stephen Meyles liked thisStephen Meyles liked thisToday I'm stepping in as co-CEO of Amperity alongside Kabir Shahani, with Amy Kelleran Pelly expanding her role to President & CFO. I've spent the last several years in the trenches with AI, shaping _what_ we build and more recently _how_ we build. I've watched this technology go from interesting to transformative in real time, with a front row seat at the center of where it matters most: customer data. Amperity has built an incredible foundation over the past decade: trusted identity, unified customer profiles, enterprise-grade data at scale, first class activation. This is exactly the infrastructure the AI era runs on. I've never been more excited about the opportunity to help our customers deliver world class experiences, accelerating the value of the data foundation via agentic marketing. I'm thrilled to be doing this with Kabir, Amy, and one of the most talented teams I've ever been around. LFG!

Stephen Meyles liked thisStephen Meyles liked thisTen years ago, we started Amperity to unleash the creativity and passion of people who work in the world's most loved consumer brands. We were excited to see what these businesses could achieve when their customer data was finally unified and trusted -- and hundreds of deployments later the results continue to amaze me every day. Today I'm pleased to be stepping in as co-CEO, alongside Derek Slager — my friend of 20+ years. We've asked our longtime partner Amy Kelleran Pelly to expand her scope and become the company's President. This is all deeply meaningful and exciting for me. The AI era runs on exactly the foundation our team has spent a decade building for Virgin Atlantic, Brooks Running, DICK's Sporting Goods, and hundreds of the world's most iconic brands. We're carrying the soul of Amperity forward and aiming it at our biggest opportunity yet. A special thanks to Amperity's management team, board of directors, my partners at Amp it Up Ventures and the exceptional leaders we work with for being so thoughtful and helpful in making this decision. Cleats on. LFG.

Stephen Meyles liked thisStephen Meyles liked thisExcited to share that I’ve moved to Philadelphia to begin my MBA at The Wharton School and MA in International Studies at The Lauder Institute - University of Pennsylvania at the University of Pennsylvania. Over the past years working in data and AI, I’ve had the opportunity to help organizations navigate technology transformation across industries and global markets. That experience made me increasingly interested not just in how technology is built, but how it shapes people, institutions, and international relationships. I’ll be focusing on China and Mandarin Chinese, which feels especially relevant given the recent trade tensions and broader geopolitical and technological developments shaping the relationship between the two countries. Wharton and Lauder felt like the right place to explore those questions more deeply. As someone from a multicultural background who’s always been drawn to global perspectives, I’m excited to spend the next two years studying the intersection of business, technology, culture, and geopolitics alongside an incredibly thoughtful and internationally minded community. I’m deeply grateful to the mentors, teammates, friends, and family who supported me along the way. Especially Diane Kitano, Cary Newell, Eric Zemba, and Dennis Chiu for your help with my application. Thank you for aiding me in this journey. And a special shout out to my husband George Mao for being one of my largest advocates for this change. Looking forward to this next chapter in Philadelphia.

Stephen Meyles liked thisStephen Meyles liked thisHere’s a rare one for you; I actually read the entire Gartner CDP MQ (GDP TSQ RGB) report and came up with my own conclusions. Sorry LLMs, I’ll find another use for you, don’t worry 🤗. This doesn’t include a read on the supplemental material. Let’s dive in. Almost across the board, the pricing models have shifted to a consumption basis paid in some form of a credit. This seems to try to counter a decline in revenue for CDPs across the board with the exception of Hightouch (at least that is known). Interesting to see a lot of tools and reporting were developed to support this, Salesforce Wallet, Treasure Data Data Credit Monitor were explicitly called out. There is an increased emphasis on activation instead of data unification. While not wrong for software to tie itself to business revenue instead of a cost center, CDPs still serve as a major function for pulling sources of data together. I’ve seen many a critique that this isn’t needed anymore; in enterprise that’s hugely false. The last 30 enterprise customers ($1B+ in revenue) I’ve worked with averaged 19 data sources for marketing, sales, and analytics use cases. That’s not a small amount. It’s table stakes, but still a distinct process, which seems like a miss to me. There was an acknowledgment GASP! 😱that the monolith architecture requires the CDP / data component to work; there was a specific call out that Adobe, Oracle, and Salesforce required the data to work correctly. This is of course wherein lies the challenge; getting these systems stood up to operate as intended requires Herculean effort and significant maintenance costs. As they call it: platformization (cute, but not a real word). If you read between the lines, it’s another phrase for vendor dependency. A strong call out and focus was on Agentification (ok, I’ll take that one). That I do agree with and it’s the area that CDPs will have the most growth potential going into the next 3 years. If the average enterprise data sources in my experience is 19, anything that can streamline data integration and unification that doesn’t require 15 data engineers over 2 years is going to be a massive win. Thats on top of the new marketing and sales activation capabilities that the CDPs are offering. This is certain where I see Hightouch playing a major role, they already lead the pack on innovation here. Gartner actually did a good job (yes, I understand what I’m saying here) in giving more explanation around their rating, but not enough in competitive analysis. There was also a couple call outs in supplemental submissions missing (looking at Adobe and Twilio) and a big miss in attaching rating to each vendor across their evaluation criteria. Was interesting to see Twilio take a dip in rating; they still represent a majority of customers in the CDP space and are still by far the best at handling regulated data for healthcare and financial services. Nice to see honorable mentions for GrowthLoop and RudderStack. That is all.

Have you checked out Airo Builder yet? GoDaddy just launched our brand new site and app-building tool, https://lnkd.in/gquV7PRi, and I’m genuinely excited about what it can do. But here’s what really blew me away: Tristan Krause just built Airo Tycoon (https://lnkd.in/gVTXD_dg) with it, and it’s a perfect example of what’s possible when you remove the technical barriers. It’s definitely worth watching the video, as Tristan breaks down exactly how he did it. #Airo #GoDaddy #AiroBuilder

Anthropic shipped multi-agent code review for Claude Code. Their internal numbers: substantive review comments went from 16% to 54% of PRs. Less than 1% of findings marked incorrect. If your team's code output has doubled but your review capacity hasn't, this is worth watching. More expensive than Claude Code GitHub Action though. https://lnkd.in/g_Pg-SiS
