Mike Demopoulos shared thisI built something weird and I kind of love it. Type a character's name into Queercade and the star field reshapes around it. Each star is a character. Each line connecting them is a relationship. Scroll and the connections surface one by one. Part 2 on DEV.to goes deeper into the Emoji Oracle and a Discovery Guide, an AI that reads the Queercade dataset to help you actually find a game to play. Mike Demopoulos shared thisClients didn't ask about SSL until Let's Encrypt made it free. Before 2014, they didn't know to ask. Then awareness created demand, and now a site without a padlock looks broken. Green hosting is sitting at that same point right now. A few months ago I mentioned it to someone at one of the largest environmental nonprofits in the country. They had never heard of it. Their entire job is the environment. Still news to them. Honestly, that's the opening. When I bring it up with agencies, the first reaction is usually surprise. Their sustainability clients never asked because they didn't know there was a question to ask. The business case holds up too. An optimized site on a green host loads faster, costs less to run and uses less energy. Same work, two payoffs. One caution from my own skepticism: I didn't trust green claims until a neutral third party stood behind them. Check the Green Web Foundation. Ask who owns the hardware. Ask if the data center itself holds certifications, not just the host. This won't matter to every client. It doesn't have to. But somebody is going to bring it up first, and I'd rather it be the agency than the client. What do you think, are we at the SSL moment yet?

Mike Demopoulos shared thisA client books. You have their name and a vague idea of a sleeve. That's where Fresh Ink starts. It's a free proof-of-concept studio tool that walks clients through an intake form, one question at a time, so the artist isn't chasing details before the session even begins. The updated walkthrough shows a fictional studio going through the full thing. Guided intake on the client side, then the studio view: session file, automatic emails and a timeline that updates itself. Artists approve everything. The tool doesn't make decisions for them. Mike Demopoulos shared thisA moment for Lost Records: Bloom & Rage. Developed by DON'T NOD Montréal and published by DON'T NOD. The game is our spotlight for QueerCade’s Hypership Day campaign. There’s something worth supporting in making room for people to discover a game they might otherwise pass by. Take a look at QueerCade on Product Hunt and support the campaign: https://lnkd.in/gzfQfbYV https://lnkd.in/gPCruSVv https://lnkd.in/d633ghB4 #QueerCade #ProductHunt

Mike Demopoulos shared thisI didn't expect leaving to feel this loud. Goodbye comes with a lot of thank-yous. To the people I built things with, stayed late with, figured things out with. Thank you. Genuinely. I'm still thinking about some of those conversations. I'm looking for what's next. If you know of something worth a conversation, I'd really like to hear about it. And if you just want to catch up, that works too. You can find me at MikeDemo.work and MikeDemo.dev, or message me here. #OpenToWork #HiringNow #JobSearch

Mike Demopoulos liked thisMike Demopoulos liked thisI'm hiring a senior correspondent at VentureBeat to cover enterprise AI, and I'll put the salary up front: $175,000 or more. Here's the gist. We run five monthly surveys of the people building and buying AI inside large companies: agent orchestration, agent reliability and evals, agent security and identity, AI infrastructure and compute, and context layers and RAG. It's proprietary, nobody else our size has it, and you'll see it before anyone outside the building. The work is to find the thing in there that nobody has said yet, vet it with three or four people our readers trust, and publish what it means. You decide what the story is. You make your own charts. That's an analyst's job as much as a reporter's, and it's the reason to take this over a bigger-name publication. Do it for a year and you're the person the industry quotes on how large companies actually buy AI. You'll interview Fortune 100 CIOs and heads of AI platforms to generate angles for new stories, or confirm or flesh out findings of stories you're already working on. We want you to have five or more years covering technology, with clips that show reporting you originated. This is not a daily news job, and not a write-up-the-announcement job. Bay Area preferred, New York a strong second. Full description in the first comment. If this is you, or you know who it is, message me here or email mmarshall@venturebeat.com.

Mike Demopoulos liked thisMike Demopoulos liked thisToday marks my first day as CEO of Newfold Digital, following more than a year leading Bluehost Group and Network Solutions Group. And I couldn't be prouder of the people I'm stepping into this role alongside. Our teams have recently earned multiple workplace awards recognizing the culture we've built together. These honors mean a great deal, especially as we enter this next chapter. Over the past year, I've seen our people take ownership, support one another and bring real energy to the work we're doing for our customers. And that work matters. Every day, small businesses, creators and entrepreneurs around the world trust us with their ideas, their businesses and their ambitions. When we make technology simpler, more reliable and more secure, they can spend more time building what matters to them. That's real work that matters to real people — and our people are the ones who make it happen. To everyone across Newfold Digital: thank you for how you show up for our customers, for one another and for the culture you continue to build. Proud of what we've accomplished together. Excited for what's ahead. #NewfoldDigital
