Lauren Nemeth shared thisAdam Carmin is one of the greatest Enterprise Sales Leaders I have worked with across my career - I am so excited to be working with him again at Shopify. He cares deeply about people, has a high bar for sales craft, is merchant obsessed and operationally excellent. Welcome to the rocket ship, Adam.Lauren Nemeth shared thisAfter an absolutely glorious 3-month summer sabbatical, I’m pumped to share that I’m joining Shopify as Global Head of Enterprise Sales. I’ve been incredibly fortunate to catch a lot of breaks over my career—perhaps none bigger than working in e-commerce and watching its trajectory over the past decade, especially since the onset of the pandemic. I’ve also had the good fortune of having a relatively close perch from which I could witness the incredible rise of Shopify. I'm a sales person at heart and if selling is your thing, you want the opportunity to sell an incredible product. So the opportunity to bring Shopify's industry-defining platform to the world's most sophisticated e-commerce brands was a no brainer. And, as agentic commerce becomes a central part of the retail lexicon, I’m pinching myself about working for a company that is poised to usher in this new era. And I promise this isn't a throwaway corporate kool-aid thing, but I'm really passionate about the Shopify ethos of "making commerce better for everyone." Shopify's success is literally measured by the success of its merchants. I'm also beyond excited to be reunited with Lauren Nemeth — one of the sharpest leaders I've had the privilege of working alongside. Can't wait to get to work with her and the incredible team at Shopify. Onward!

Lauren Nemeth shared thisGreat quarters are a lagging indicator. What they actually measure is the work that happened months ago — and today's results are a direct reflection of what Shopifolk have been building all along. Here's what's underneath the numbers: Merchants are converting more of the traffic they already have. They're spending less time on the operational toil that used to eat their week. They're opening up revenue streams in agentic commerce that didn't exist a year ago. And the Shop consumer ecosystem is compounding for all of them at once. That's not a growth spurt. That's a better long-term business — and we get to build the infrastructure for millions of them. Incredibly proud of this team. 💚Lauren Nemeth shared thisThe Q2 numbers are in, and it was a monster quarter. → $116B in merchant sales, up 32% YoY, our fifth straight quarter of 30%+ GMV growth → $3.6B revenue, up 34% YoY → $654M free cash flow, an 18% margin → Traffic and orders from AI channels both tripled YoY as ChatGPT, Google, and others become real discovery engines → 75% of AI-attributed orders came from outside the top 100 categories, the specialized long tail winning on relevance, not budget → Sidekick usage is up 3.6x YoY, helping merchants get to their first sale faster and run smarter after → Shop Pay crossed $400B in lifetime GMV → Iconic names across fashion, beauty, and retail all moved onto the platform this quarter Behind every one of these numbers is a simple job we've done for twenty years: absorb the complexity of commerce so merchants can focus on what they actually care about, their products and their customers. Today an entrepreneur can have an idea in the morning and their first sale by the end of the day. That's an entirely different velocity of entrepreneurship, and it's only accelerating. Watch the video for the full story on Q2 and what this new era means for entrepreneurs.

Lauren Nemeth shared thisMerchants are unifying their data and making it easily accessible to both consumers and AI agents using Shopify. The numbers on AI-referred commerce are starting to come in, and the revenue opportunity is staggering: 💵 AI-referred shoppers on Shopify storefronts convert at nearly 50% higher rates than organic search. 💶 AOVs are 14% higher. 💴 More than half of those sessions start directly on a product detail page — not a homepage, not a category page. The product page. The mechanism is what's being called journey compression. By the time a buyer clicks through from an AI conversation, the research is done. They've narrowed, compared, and decided. They're arriving ready to purchase. The growth rate is what caught my attention: AI-referred orders grew nearly 13x year-over-year in Q1 2026. That trajectory mirrors what we saw in the early stages of mobile commerce and social commerce - but even bigger. For the retail leaders I'm talking with: this is the opportunity window. Structured product data, brand authority that AI systems can reason over and with, and production-ready infrastructure for agent-led transactions. Here’s the deep dive from our growth team: https://lnkd.in/eUwdCJSYAI-referred shoppers convert better and spend more (2026) - ShopifyAI-referred shoppers convert better and spend more (2026) - Shopify

Lauren Nemeth posted thisInternational Women's Day is this weekend and, in keeping with this year's theme of Give to Gain, I would like to take a moment to thank the many women who have shaped me into the leader I am. I have been blessed to have 5 female bosses in my career all whom have taught me something valuable. Lucy Werner who really taught me how hard work and confidence in your self can carry you most of the way. Amy Adams Harding who always led with her heart and people first. Lexi Reese whose work ethic, attention to detail and always standing up for what matters. inspires me still. Kim Perell who taught me fearlessness, risk taking and storytelling. Sarah Friar who is one of the greatest operators on the planet and engrained the 3Ps (People, Performance, Product) in me for life. There are also a number of female colleagues (more than I could ever fully give flowers to) who continue to inspire me to this day. I dare you to find a greater partnerships leader and champion for women than Maureen Little. One of my all time favorite founders, marketers and human beings remains Sarah Leary. My favorite CFO and longtime business partner Aidan Viggiano. The riding star sales leader who inspires me daily Alicia Bonner alongside my partner in crime, Katrina Wong. Thank you (and so many more) for leading from the front, inspiring the next set of female leaders and always lifting up women. I value each and everyone of you. Happy International Women's Day!

Lauren Nemeth shared thisNew Relic Advance proved one thing - the 'status quo' of observability is dead. The innovations we unveiled today are intentional about where customer needs are evolving: –– AI First: No-code solutions to build and govern custom AI observability agents. –– Business Intelligent: Customized workflows targeted to business outcomes. –– Customer Experience Centric: Multi-agent AI systems to ensure seamless customer experiences. –– Open and Customizable: New APM hybrid Agents and Collector Observability allow enterprises to adopt OpenTelemetry (OTel) standards at their own pace without de-risking their current stack. A huge thank you to Ian Heisser at Nordstrom, Victor Mora at Turo, and Sam Brinley at New York Life Insurance for joining me on stage for our inspiring customer panel. Your insights into how you’re driving value for your organizations are a strong reminder of the importance of observability in the AI era. Lauren Nemeth shared thisHaving spent 4 years of my career at Twilio, telecommunications and technology are near and dear to my heart. Our new State of Observability for Telecommunications and Technology report reveals that high-impact outages cost telcos an average of $2 million per hour. This is a direct threat to customer retention and quarterly revenue targets. Observability is now a proven driver of top-line growth and efficiency. A remarkable 58% of telcos and 49% of IT companies see observability delivering ROI of 2x or more and among telco respondents, 10% see returns of 5-10x. These are not tool rollouts, but rather strategic business investments focused on achieving key business KPIs. If you're looking for a competitive edge that delivers measurable, industry-leading returns, the roadmap is clear. Lauren Nemeth liked thisLauren Nemeth liked thisSome personal news… After an incredible time growing from <$100m to over $600m ARR, I've decided to step away from Lovable and pursue a new opportunity. I am incredibly proud of the GTM organization we built from scratch and know that Maximilian Keil , Monica Perez , Kali Lorenzetti , Isabelle Bensimon , Matt Norton , Morgan Jacobson, Daniel Sheard, Dan O'Leary, Lauren Rhode, and the entire team will continue to rapidly grow Lovable. Anton Osika and Fabian Hedin are special founders that will continue to transform how software and businesses are built. I was lucky enough to work with some of the very best customers and partners in AI today, all pushing the entire industry forward. I deeply appreciate your partnership and collaboration. Lovable has been and will be unstoppable. And here’s why: after being on the bleeding edge of vibecoding, it is crystal clear to me that there are large swaths of internal tools and even SaaS markets that can be and SHOULD be replaced with cheaper, faster, and BETTER Lovable-created software. It is irresponsible to not sign up for Lovable Enterprise! But, it’s also clear to me that we’re in the top of the first inning when it comes to how to apply AI to the most sophisticated, regulated, and market-shaping industries. Stay tuned as I'll share where I'm going shortly. Rest assured that I will be focused on building the very best GTM organization in AI and we're going big and fast. If you want to have a meaningful impact and be surrounded by the very best, get in touch.

Lauren Nemeth liked thisLauren Nemeth liked thisYou were SO CLOSE to checking out! That was the subject line in my inbox minutes after I exited the shopping task on Muse. I was playing around with Muse and asked it to find me a pair of jeans (which I actually need). It searched, landed on TPJ - creators of the perfect jean, and started preparing my checkout. It knew almost nothing about me, so it asked for name, address and phone. I gave them, watched how it handled payment, then exited. I was there to see the experience, not to buy. Then the email showed up. Muse checks out through Shop Pay, and The Perfect Jean runs on Shopify, so the checkout the agent started was a real checkout on the merchant's own stack. The merchant saw an abandoned session the same way it would from its website, and its recovery flow did what it always does: a personalized offer to come back and finish. The Perfect Jean built nothing for this. The Shop Pay integration with Muse covers every Shopify store. That is the detail I would want every merchant to notice. The worry with agentic commerce is that the agent gets between you and your customer. Here, --> The agent brought me in, --> The merchant kept the relationship, and --> The merchant gets another chance to convert. That's what we're building toward at Shopify: when an agent checks out, it runs on the merchant's stack, not around it. The UX itself deserves its own post, another day.

Lauren Nemeth reacted on thisLauren Nemeth reacted on thisAfter 4.5 incredible years, I've decided it's time for me to leave Vanta. 💜 I still remember my first week. My team was 20 people. The epic Eric Martin was at the helm of sales. Continuous monitoring and automated compliance had clear PMF among tech savvy startups, but GRC was something we decidedly were not yet. The journey to agentic trust had barely begun. What this team built in these last few years is hard to overstate. We grew (and accelerated!) past $300M ARR across 16,000 customers, including 60% of the Forbes AI 50. We took the company global, standing up real businesses across EMEA and APJ, and we earned the right to sit with the largest enterprises and the public sector. We built (and re-built) entire new functions, established new revenue engines, and moved core metrics. Inbound to outbound, new logo to expansion, manual to AI powered, direct to channel and lots more. And this team did the hardest thing a company can do. We reinvented the product while it was working, going from compliance automation to a true agentic trust platform that serves everyone from day one founders to Fortune 500 CISOs. That was not my doing. It was the doing of the most talented, most relentlessly kind team I've ever worked with, and a leadership team that allowed me learn, make mistakes, and try again over the course of years and many projects. I'm so proud of the leadership team here and I know I leave things in truly the best hands. As for what's next... a real break first. Time with my family, a birthday celebration back home in Kansas, some distance, some perspective. Some sleeping in, plant tending, hanging out with my kiddo. Then something new. 🌱 To the Vanta team, truly, thank you. 🙏 I have told many of you that it feels like we have lightning in a bottle here, and that remains true. I am forever Team Vanta and I cannot wait to see what comes next for this incredible crew. 🚀 Thank you Christina Cacioppo for your trust and partnership, and for letting me be part of such an epic ride. It's been everything you promised and more. 🦙

Lauren Nemeth reacted on thisLauren Nemeth reacted on thisI've spent my career on the enterprise side of technology shifts. I was at Salesforce as cloud became the default. I was at Confluent when data went from something companies stored to something they ran on. The pattern repeats: the technology arrives first, the language for it arrives late, and the companies that win are the ones who can plainly say what they do for a customer before the category even has a name. AI is in that gap right now. It also happens to be our biggest technology transformation yet. Enterprise marketing has never been louder or more crowded, and most of that noise is answering the wrong question. Enterprises are past debating whether the models are good. What I hear from customers is harder and less glamorous: Will it run in production? Will it survive our security and compliance checks? Will it hold up when ten thousand employees are on it every day? Will it break my IT budget before I see a return? That's why I'm thrilled to share that today I have joined Google Cloud as Chief Marketing Officer. Here's what tipped the scale for me: The stack, and the proof it works. Google has spent more than a decade building the answer across every layer of AI: infrastructure and TPUs, data, security, and Gemini. Enterprises don't get production-grade AI from stitching together point solutions. They get it from a stack built to work together, end to end. Nearly 90% of the Fortune 100 already use Gemini Enterprise, and 80% of Google Cloud customers use its AI products today. The opportunity now is translating that power into absolute clarity for every enterprise buyer. That's the job I'm taking. Not more volume in an already loud category. Clarity, and the discipline to keep a customer's outcomes at the center of everything we do. The people. The people made this an easy decision too. Every conversation I've had here, with engineers, sales, marketers, leaders across the business, has sharpened the same impression: deep thinkers, genuinely collaborative, customer-obsessed, with an entrepreneurial spirit you don't always find at this scale. The scale and the ambition speaks for itself. Google Cloud grew 82% year over year last quarter, with nearly 100 billion annual revenue run rate. That kind of growth doesn't happen because enterprises want another AI model to evaluate. It happens because they want AI that actually does the work: one platform, not twenty tools bolted together. My focus is making Google Cloud that platform for every enterprise, across every line of business and every industry. Not just answers. Outcomes. A huge thank you to Lorraine Twohill and Thomas Kurian for the opportunity and the trust. And to the marketing team I'm joining: I'm excited to get in the trenches with you. I'm coming in to listen first. Time to get to work.

Lauren Nemeth reacted on thisLauren Nemeth reacted on thisOver the past four weeks, I’ve had the opportunity to step back, spend valuable time with my family, and reflect on what comes next. After five incredible years at Shopify, I am leaving the company. I’m immensely proud of what this team has accomplished during that time. Together, we’ve strengthened Shopify’s presence across Europe, grown our partner ecosystem, and brought new products and opportunities to merchants across the region. When I joined, Shopify was best known in Europe as the platform for small businesses. Today, it supports everyone from first-time founders to some of the world’s largest enterprises. But entrepreneurship will always be in Shopify’s DNA. And the opportunity ahead is significant. AI is changing how people discover and buy products, and Shopify merchants are ready for this new era of agentic commerce. With more than one billion products structured for discovery in the Shopify Catalog and partnerships opening new ways to sell across major AI platforms Shopify is helping merchants of every size embrace the future of commerce. None of this happens without an exceptional team. Their talent, ambition, and deep commitment to merchants and partners will continue to drive Shopify’s success across Europe. I’m grateful to every merchant, partner, colleague, and leader who has been part of my Shopify journey. Thank you for the trust, collaboration, and many memorable moments along the way. I’m excited to discover what comes next for me, and I’ll be cheering on Shopify as it continues to play the long game.

This is where AdTech gets Agentic Just a few weeks ago, I wrote about the idea of an Agentic DSP — systems that don’t just automate bids, but reason, collaborate, and evolve. Now the IAB Tech Lab is taking a big step in that direction with its new Agentic RTB Framework (ARTF) — introducing containerization and multi-agent workflows into the real-time bidding ecosystem. This changes everything: + DSPs and SSPs can now co-locate intelligence through containerized agents — no more pinging across data centers. + Lower latency and faster decision loops. + Secure collaboration — agents execute tasks without exposing proprietary code. + “Black boxes” become intelligent nodes that optimize, analyze, and learn in real time. It’s the most meaningful architectural shift since OpenRTB — moving us from platforms that automate to systems that think and act together. Exciting to see the industry catching up to the Agentic future that’s already unfolding. #AdTech #AI #Programmatic #AgenticDSP #IAB #RTB #MachineLearning

Becoming AI-native starts with Claude, and takes a network of tools and expertise. Starting today, Claude Marketplace brings that network together in one place: → Add connectors and plugins: 2,000+ for the tools your teams already use, like Atlassian, Notion, and Salesforce → Buy agents and products: Claude-powered software from CrowdStrike, Cursor, Harvey, and Snowflake, which customers can buy with a portion of their committed Anthropic spend → Scale with service partners: experts from the Claude Partner Network, like Accenture, Boston Consulting Group (BCG), and Deloitte Read more on the blog: https://lnkd.in/eT5rmXYU Proud of the team that brought this together.

After the session, a handful of attendees told me it was one of the most educational talks they’d heard on social measurement. I hear that often after webinars and conference sessions, and it means a lot. We try to skip the hype and focus on what marketers can actually use. Frameworks, language for stakeholders, and real examples from destinations like Visit Anaheim. Value first, always.
