Jithendranath Joijoide shared this𝗦𝗸𝘆𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗲𝘅 𝗩𝘀 𝗔𝗜 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗼𝘂𝘁 There's this obscure economic indicator called the Skyscraper Index. In 1999, a property analyst named Andrew Lawrence noticed that every time the world built its tallest skyscraper, an economic downturn followed shortly after. EMPIRE STATE BUILDING → GREAT DEPRESSION. WORLD TRADE CENTER → 1973 OIL CRISIS. PETRONAS TOWERS → 1997 ASIAN FINANCIAL CRISIS. BURJ KHALIFA → 2008 FINANCIAL MELTDOWN. The tall buildings didn't cause the recessions. But the conditions that made them possible (easy credit, overconfidence, speculative fever, "build it and they will come" thinking) were always the same conditions that preceded a crash. I keep thinking about this when I look at AI infrastructure spending right now. The top 5 hyperscalers are on track to spend over $500B in capex this year. Microsoft is pouring 33 to 50% of its annual revenue into AI infrastructure. Meta is at 40 to 45%. Meanwhile, MIT research found that 95% of organizations investing in GenAI are seeing zero return. 𝗪𝗲'𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱'𝘀 𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝘆𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲. 𝗪𝗲'𝗿𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱'𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝘁 𝗮 𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘀𝗸𝘆𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗺𝘀 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁. The underlying pattern is the same though. Cheap capital, collective FOMO, speculative demand projections, and massive bets placed at the peak of optimism. I'm not saying don't invest in AI. That would be silly. But having spent years running AI infrastructure at large scale companies, I've seen firsthand how much waste hides inside these budgets. Most companies can cut 25 to 40% of their AI infra costs without touching model performance. They just never look because the momentum feels too good to question. The Skyscraper Index is a reminder that the cranes are always busiest right before the fall. 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙚𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙨𝙪𝙧𝙫𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙘𝙤𝙧𝙧𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙣'𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙤𝙣𝙚𝙨 𝙬𝙝𝙤 𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙢𝙤𝙨𝙩. Jithendranath Joijoide shared thisAnthropic published a booklet on how they use Claude Code internally in the company. Page 15 caught my attention. For a company valued at approximately $380 Billion, they have a one person Growth marketing team. This single person team builds performance marketing channels across paid search, paid social, mobile app stores, email marketing and SEO. All of this is achieved by building automations using Claude Code. Which would otherwise require significant engineering and marketing resources. This is fantastic. Gives us a glimpse of workplaces of future.

Jithendranath Joijoide shared thisIn 2010, Patrick and John Collison had a payments startup nobody asked for. PayPal was already a verb. Every investor said the same thing: "This is solved." They proved everyone wrong. Here's how: At Y Combinator, most founders would demo their product and say, "Want to try our beta? We'll send you a link." The Collison brothers did something different. Whenever another founder showed even mild interest, they'd say: "Right then, give me your laptop." And they'd set up Stripe on the spot. Paul Graham later coined a term for this: the "Collison Installation." It became a legendary growth tactic at YC. Behind the scenes? The product was barely held together. → When someone signed up, Patrick would literally call a friend who'd manually open a merchant account for that user → No automation. Pure hustle. → It took nearly two years to hire their first five employees → They gave away 10%+ equity to their first ten hires → Their only paid marketing for year one? Ads on StackOverflow Stripe is today valued at over $159 billion. There is also talk that Stripe is planning to buy Paypal. The lesson for every founder and builder reading this: Don't send the link. Grab the laptop. The best early-stage growth strategy isn't a funnel. It's showing up, removing friction, and doing the work no one else is willing to do. What's your version of "grabbing the laptop"? #startup #founderstories

Jithendranath Joijoide shared thisI am blown away by Anthropic Claude Opus 4.6's Presentation generation capabilities. Attaching the unedited results. I saw the launch post on the 4.6 release today and wanted to test its presentation generation capabilities. After updating Claude Desktop, I spun up Opus 4.6 and prompted it with the 4.6 launch post URL, asking it to generate a presentation on the topic. ( prompt in the comment. ) I exported the presentation to PDF and am attaching the unedited results below. I think it did a pretty good job. The best part is, all the elements of the PPT are editable, unlike the presentations we can generate using NotebookLM, which is usually uneditable images on individual slides. #AI #Anthropic

The invention provides a system and method for providing voice over Internet protocol ("VoIP") services with an improved quality of service ("QoS"). In one embodiment, a number of gateways or proxies are connected with dedicated links to form a dedicated network. Each gateway is also on one or multiple communication networks, such as individual communication networks provided by different network providers. Each user of the system uses an ATA to connect to the dedicated network, which then connects the user to another ATA of another user, thereby establishing a connection between these two users. The connection between each of the ATAs and the dedicated network is made through communication network or networks. As the quality of a public network is generally not managed by a VoIP service provider, it is desirable to minimize the effects of public network or networks. A method is provided for selecting a gateway that provides the best connection possible to the dedicated network. The selection may be based, for example, network latency. The selected gateway then selects the best receiver gateway for routing the connection request and to connect to the receiver's ATA.

Baseten is tackling some of the most complex challenges in AI. Scaling inference is fundamentally a systems and infrastructure problem, not just an AI or model problem. As AI adoption grows, the real differentiator becomes the systems work that makes models reliable, efficient, and fast in production. By adopting NVIDIA's powerful open-source software and frameworks, we’re able to solve these challenges on behalf of our customers and deliver high-performance inference at scale. Murmell joins the NVIDIA Inception program 🚀 Building collaborative, persistent cloud infrastructure for parallel AI coding agents requires serious compute, low-latency orchestration, and rock-solid scalability. Joining NVIDIA Inception gives us direct access to: World-class GPU infrastructure and technical support Advanced compute resources to scale our cloud sandboxes Direct connections within the global AI and startup ecosystem When we started building Murmell, our goal was clear: take multi-agent workflows out of local terminal silos and move them into persistent, multi-provider cloud environments where teams and agents code together without merge conflicts. Having NVIDIA back our journey validates the architectural direction we're taking. Huge milestone with Moss'Ab Mirande-Ney. We're just getting started. ⚡️ #NVIDIA #NVIDIAInception #AI #DevTools #CloudComputing #MultiAgentSystems #BuildInPublic #Startups

inference is eating ai. 40%+ of nvidia’s revenue now comes from inference workloads.. jensen huang says it’ll scale “a billion times” as chain-of-thought models go mainstream. the bottleneck isn’t chips anymore. it’s watts….performance-per-watt is the governor. huang claims even if rivals gave GPUs away for free, customers would still pick nvidia because blackwell = 30x more tokens per watt than hopper. what does this mean for the rest of us? 1) if you’re building infra-adjacent: efficiency is your narrative. every buyer cares about energy-per-outcome. 2) sellers need to frame solutions as part of ai factories.. not point tools. buyers want orchestration + integration, not another silo. 3) investors: watch inference-heavy categories and sovereign ai buildouts. this is where the multi-trillion upside lives. plus>> when the c-suite realizes watts = revenue, every board deck will start looking more like an energy strategy than a product roadmap. this is take place as more workflows start to move from human capital to agents — ps > more of this on my substack.. link in comments.

NVIDIA’s $12.93B agreement to acquire Hugging Face puts model choice in the spotlight. My take: access to models is only the beginning. The real differentiator is what they deliver when the demo ends and the customer starts talking. That’s why I’m proud to share a double milestone for Deepdub: 🚀 Phantom Z 3.4 Conversational is live. Our latest multilingual text-to-speech model brings expressive voice, real-time performance, full 48 kHz audio, and improved handling of the numbers, dates, and amounts that matter in customer conversations. 🏆 Our emotional TTS model ranked #1 for p95 latency among the expressive models in the Coval platform comparison. Expressive speech backed by a measurable speed result. Coval is the voice AI evaluation platform built to test and improve agents at scale. For me, these milestones belong together. Speed without expression isn’t enough. Expression that arrives too late doesn’t feel like a conversation. A worried customer should hear reassurance. An account number should be spoken clearly. And nobody should have to choose between a responsive agent and a natural-sounding one. NVIDIA’s announcement reinforces my conviction: the opportunity isn’t just to make more models available. It’s to build specialized models that earn their place in production. That’s what we’re building at Deepdub. Proud of the team for pushing both performance and expression forward. The next generation of AI agents won’t just need the right words. They’ll need the right voice. https://lnkd.in/dRYapGMP #Deepdub #VoiceAI #ConversationalAI #NVIDIA

Most teams running LLM inference are over-provisioning GPUs “just in case.” We benchmarked what happens when you combine NVIDIA NIM with NVIDIA Run:ai with the same inference workloads on dramatically fewer GPUs — with minimal throughput loss. How? ✅ GPU Fractions + Bin Packing: Run multiple NIM models on shared GPUs with true memory isolation — consolidate your deployments, increase density, and reduce your compute footprint. ✅ Dynamic GPU Fractions: Let models burst into unused headroom during traffic spikes — no extra GPUs required. ✅ GPU Memory Swap: Keep infrequently used models warm in CPU memory to slash first-request latency. ✅ Inference Priority Scheduling: Prioritize user-facing inference while training flexes around it. The takeaway: You may not need more GPUs — just smarter orchestration of the ones you have. 🔗 Full benchmarks and methodology in the tech blog: https://bit.ly/407QnUs

NVIDIA’s planned acquisition of Hugging Face is interesting to me because it shows how the AI battle is moving beyond just models. NVIDIA is already strong in AI compute, while Hugging Face has built a strong ecosystem around models, datasets and AI development. The AI stack is becoming more important end to end: Compute → Models → Model Registry → Harness/Runtime → Agents → Enterprise Applications. For enterprises, I think the key takeaway is to avoid dependency at every layer, not just the LLM layer. We should build AI architecture with portability and interoperability in mind, so we can change models, tools and platforms as technology continues to evolve. #EnterpriseAI #AIArchitecture #AgenticAI #NVIDIA #HuggingFace

Quick week in review on AI compute - Sept 2026: – Lead times still brutal for most buyers – Pricing spreads between neo clouds and hyperscalers remain huge – Power and transformers continue to constrain new builds – Private / dedicated capacity is solving the problem for a growing number of teams We run private GPU infrastructure single or multi tenant and help source hardware. If you’re dealing with any of the above, reply “private” or DM me. I’ll respond personally.

Some of Nvidia's best engineers have stayed with Jensen Huang for 30+ years. That's an unusual kind of retention in tech. Nvidia went through near-failure in its early years. The product struggled, the market was uncertain, and the company had every reason to become more controlling. Huang chose a different approach: give talented people ownership instead of managing them through fear. That philosophy scaled with the company. → Engineers were trusted to solve problems independently. → Senior talent stayed long enough to build deep institutional knowledge. → The company grew without replacing its engineering culture with layers of control. 3 leadership lessons: 1️⃣ Give your best people room to operate. High performers rarely need someone watching every decision. They need the authority to make them. 2️⃣ Retention is often a byproduct of trust. People don't stay for decades because of one great incentive. They stay when they consistently feel trusted, challenged and valuable. 3️⃣ Scale shouldn't mean more control. A common leadership mistake is becoming more bureaucratic as the company grows. Huang's case shows the opposite: if autonomy helped attract great talent early, taking it away later can be exactly what makes that talent leave. The real competitive advantage isn't just hiring exceptional people. It's building a company where exceptional people still want to be there decades later.

The latest paper from top mathematicians on LLMs could very well offer hope to human developers fighting surviving the onslaught of Claude Code. Following up on my earlier post about Anthropic's C compiler. We've had Claude Code for 12 months now. Everyone claims 10x productivity. If that's true, we should be sitting on 10 years worth of software innovation by now. So where is it? Show me one landmark game from the past year. Not GTA or Age of Empires level. I'll settle for an Angry Birds, a Candy Crush, a Farmville. Where is it? Show me one gamechanging infrastructure system. A new git. A new Hadoop. A new Linux. A new stack to fix the broken JS ecosystem. Anything. Show me a completely new way to shop. The way Amazon reinvented commerce in the 1990s. Show me a new form of entertainment. The way Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube each created entirely new categories. Show me a new enterprise application. Something that does for a workflow what Word and Excel did for documents and spreadsheets. Nothing. In any category. Between 2004-08 -- nearly 10 new categories got created including social networking, cloud computing, smart phones, tablets, bitcoin, video streaming etc. How many categories created now? With trillions of dollars invested and billions of developer hours. The same week Anthropic demoed their C compiler, top mathematicians from Stanford, Columbia, and Imperial College published a paper called "First Proof." They gave 10 unpublished research problems, problems that have never appeared anywhere online, to the best LLMs including GPT-5.2 Pro and Gemini 3.0 Deepthink. One shot, no hand-holding. The models failed consistently. Remove the training data safety net and the "reasoning" disappears. That tells you everything about what the C compiler demo actually proved. Many luminaries are making a dangerous assumption: that LLMs can create drastically new outcomes from training data. But we are yet to see a readable novel, a watchable feature-length movie, or a full-fledged new application created by LLMs. This should actually be promising for humans. It means AI is replacing the boring, repeatable parts of the job, the bottom 50% of the work. But the creative top 10%? The 0-to-1 innovation? That's still human territory. CS developers aren't dead. They're more needed than ever, just for different reasons than before.
