Tom Herzog shared this𝗞𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻. Everyone teaches you how to get hired. Far fewer teach you when it’s time to leave. At my last mastermind group, I was asked to present on when to stick and when to quit. It brought me back to Seth Godin’s book, The Dip, which spoke to me many years ago. But the more I prepared, the more I realized this conversation is much bigger than our vocation. It shows up across all the different personas of our lives. Careers. Projects. Relationships. Commitments. Causes. Even chapters of our lives we once thought would last much longer than they did. When do you keep going? And when do you have the courage to say: enough? I looked back at some of my own decisions. Some I got right. Some I didn’t. I’ve stayed too long. I’ve left too soon. I’ve mistaken a difficult season for something permanent. And I’ve held on to things because walking away felt harder than staying. There usually isn’t a flashing sign telling you it’s time. No announcement. No perfect moment when everything suddenly becomes clear. More often, there are patterns. Conversations. A growing sense that something has changed. And sometimes the thing that has changed is you. I put the framework I shared with the group in the graphic. Not rules. Not a formula. Just some signs I’ve learned to pay attention to along the way. Because the longer I live, the more I realize that deciding whether to stay or leave may not be the first question we should ask. There’s another one I try to ask myself first: 𝗔𝗺 𝗜 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗺 𝗜 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺? I’ve been both. Sometimes I needed to stay, own my part and do the work. Other times, I needed to recognize that holding on was getting in the way of moving forward. Most of us are pretty good at identifying what needs to change around us. It takes a little more courage to ask what needs to change within us. So whether you’re thinking about a job, a project, a relationship, a commitment or simply a chapter whose time may have come, maybe start here: 𝗛𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗜 𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻? Then be honest enough to listen to your answer. #Leadership #LifeLessons #PersonalGrowth #DadTalking #DoTheWork

Tom Herzog shared this𝗕𝗘𝗬𝗢𝗡𝗗 𝗔𝗪𝗔𝗥𝗘𝗡𝗘𝗦𝗦 | 𝗔𝗟𝗪𝗔𝗬𝗦 𝗧𝗜𝗠𝗘 “Always time for a sunrise.” “Always time for a sunset.” I started posting those words with photos some time ago. There wasn’t a strategy behind it. It was simply something I needed to remind myself. Over time, something pretty cool started happening. People began sending me their moments, too. A sunrise from where they happened to be. A sunset they stopped long enough to notice. Sometimes just a picture. Sometimes a note that simply said, “Thank you. I needed this today.” I love that. Because what started as a reminder to myself somehow became a shared reminder between a few of us. And I’ve probably never taken the time to explain what those words really mean to me. Life gets busy. I get busy. I’m a technologist. I love innovation, the work, and the people and communities we have the privilege to serve. I’m also a husband, dad, friend, teammate and someone trying to be useful in my community. I’ve learned I can’t be my best for any of them if I never stop long enough to breathe. That’s what these moments are for me. A reminder to stop. Look up. Be present. Notice the goodness already there. And I’ve learned something else along the way: 𝗪𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗽𝗶𝗰𝗸 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁. 𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗽𝗶𝗰𝗸𝘀 𝘂𝘀. We just have to be present enough to notice. I wanted to share this today for a reason. Tomorrow is the final day of Suicide Prevention Month. We’ve spent September talking about how we show up when people are struggling. But prevention isn’t only about responding to crisis. It’s also about connection. Belonging. Being present. Reminding people, sometimes in the smallest ways, that they matter. So tomorrow, a suggestions for us. 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗼𝗻𝗲’𝘀 𝗱𝗮𝘆. Make the call when you don’t need anything. Buy the coffee. Send the text. Pull up another chair. Tell someone something good you’ve noticed about them. One person. One thing. No agenda. Maybe one of the best ways to remind ourselves that there is goodness around us is to be some of that goodness for somebody else. And today, don’t forget to look up. 𝗔𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝘀𝘂𝗻𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗲. 𝗔𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝘀𝘂𝗻𝘀𝗲𝘁. 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿, 𝘁𝗼𝗼. 𝗥𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲. 𝗥𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗻𝗼𝘄. #BeyondAwareness #BeTheDifference #DadTalking If you or someone you know needs support in the U.S., call or text 988.

Tom Herzog shared this𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝘁𝘆 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝘁 It was only a quick glance, but I could feel the heaviness. Their eyes were full. Their heart seemed heavy. I will be honest. My first instinct was to look away. I did not want to stare. I did not want to intrude. And I was not looking to start a conversation. I had work to do, messages waiting and a device in my hand. I could not explain it. I just knew I needed to put it down and look up. Then our eyes met. “Are you okay?” That question led to a conversation about a visit. About leaving. About what was most important in life. I could relate. Probably more than they knew. When it was time for me to leave and board my flight, they said: “Tom, thank you for the conversation. I needed it.” And there I was reminded that this is how life works. There will always be more work to do. Another message. Another meeting. Another task. We are going to feel that tension again and again. But we cannot become so busy managing life that we forget how to be human. Life is people, relationships and the stories we are all still working to write. Sometimes that means making eye contact. Getting out of our seat and starting the conversation. Inviting someone to lunch. Sitting down over a cup of coffee. Not to fix anything. Not to solve anything. Simply to connect. Sometimes we are the one who needs someone to ask. Sometimes we are the one who needs to ask. The seat in this photo is empty now. But a few minutes earlier, it held a person. A story. A heart carrying more than I could see. A life more like mine than different. The few minutes we think we cannot spare may be the few minutes another person needs most. And if we are honest, maybe we need them too. #DadTalking #LifeLessons #BeUnRandom #Moments #TeamSport

Tom Herzog shared thisTomorrow we mark 100 years of the Liberty Memorial and gather at National WWI Museum and Memorial for its Centennial Gala. A century. Think about all this place has witnessed since 1926. It was built not to glorify war, but to remember its cost, honor those who served and help future generations understand what happens when the world loses its way. Given where we find ourselves geopolitically today, I’m not sure that responsibility has ever felt more important. Our President & CEO Matthew Naylor, PhD, CFRE GAICD describes this Centennial as a time to: “Remember, reflect, connect and recommit.” That’s exactly it. Remember those who came before us. Reflect on what history has taught us. Connect those lessons to the world we are living in today. And recommit ourselves to doing better with what we know. History isn’t something we simply preserve behind glass. We study it. We wrestle with it. We learn from it. And hopefully, we have the courage not to repeat its darkest chapters. Tomorrow we honor the past. 𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘄. Remember Forward. I’m grateful and proud to play a small part in helping steward this extraordinary place into its next 100 years. It is a responsibility I don’t take lightly. More on the Centennial and tomorrow’s commemoration: https://lnkd.in/g__EgxXC #RememberForward #WWI #History #Leadership #KansasCity

Tom Herzog shared thisMy daughter Marissa and I had dinner the other night, and somewhere along the way the conversation turned to the future of education. Not exactly unusual dinner conversation in our family. She works every day with young people in public education. I spend much of my time thinking about technology, AI, automation and the future of work. Different seats. Same question: 𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗴𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗶𝗻𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗶𝘁? Over the last several months, I’ve had the opportunity to speak with groups about AI + Automation. I’ve often used Blue Valley School District and its Career Ready Programs as an example of a school system intentionally preparing for the changes ahead. Because if work changes, education has to evolve with it. What education looked like for me is different from what it looked like for Marissa. What it looks like for students today will be different again tomorrow. That’s not a failure of education. That’s life. What remains is its importance in helping young people develop, discover what they are capable of and see opportunities they may not yet know exist. The data makes the challenge difficult to ignore. The World Economic Forum estimates 39% of workers’ existing core skills will change by 2030. It also estimates 59 of every 100 workers will need training and 86% of employers expect AI and information-processing technologies to transform their businesses. 𝗪𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗶𝘁. That requires intent and innovation. Career-ready education. Hands-on learning. Exposure to real industries and problems. Different pathways for different students. And it cannot simply be about teaching kids to use AI. Curiosity. Critical thinking. Communication. Adaptability. Judgment. Creativity. Working with others. The ability to keep learning. Those may become even more important. College. Skilled trades. Certifications. Entrepreneurship. Technology. Healthcare. Advanced manufacturing. And careers we haven’t imagined yet. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗯𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝘁 𝗯𝘆 𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗲. Educators need business. Business needs educators. And both need to spend more time listening to the young people whose future we are discussing. Maybe that was our biggest takeaway from dinner. We shouldn’t fear that education will look different. We should expect it. Then work together to make sure different is also better. Because it’s hard for a young person to imagine a future they’ve never had the opportunity to see. Tom Herzog shared this𝙂𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙩𝙪𝙙𝙚. 𝘼𝙡𝙬𝙖𝙮𝙨. There are a lot of pictures taken during CONNECTIONS. This may be one of my favorites. Some of the people who made this week possible are standing in this photo. Many others are not. Our Events Team. Creative. Marketing. EIT. Client Experience. Volunteers. Associates from across Netsmart who stepped outside their everyday roles and simply asked: How can I help? For months, they planned, built, tested, changed and solved. They worried about details most people would never notice. Then this week, they showed up. Early mornings. Late nights. Last-minute changes. Problems solved before most of us ever knew there was a problem. And through all of it, they kept showing up for one another and for our clients. When thousands of little things go right, it can look easy. It isn’t. 𝙒𝙚 𝙨𝙚𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙠. 𝙒𝙚 𝙨𝙚𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙘𝙖𝙧𝙚. 𝘼𝙣𝙙 𝙬𝙚 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙛𝙪𝙡. Personally, thank you. And on behalf of the clients, partners, associates and guests you welcomed and cared for this week, thank you. I know what you gave to make these last few days possible. Your time. Your energy. Your attention to the smallest details. And probably a little sleep along the way. 𝘽𝙚𝙘𝙖𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙮𝙤𝙪… Connections were made. Conversations happened that will continue long after we leave Denver. Ideas were challenged and new possibilities emerged. And our clients, partners and associates had the opportunity to come together around the priority that remains in front of all of us: the people and communities we serve. Looking at this picture, I’m reminded again that we couldn’t have chosen a better name for this gathering. 𝘾𝙊𝙉𝙉𝙀𝘾𝙏𝙄𝙊𝙉𝙎. Because behind every session, demonstration, meal, conversation and introduction was a group of people working incredibly hard to create a place where others could come together. 𝙏𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙙𝙞𝙙𝙣’𝙩 𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙥𝙪𝙩 𝙤𝙣 𝙖 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙛𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚. 𝙏𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙘𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙥𝙖𝙘𝙚 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙣𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣. “Gratitude. Always.” is something that speaks deeply to me. Because none of us does any of this alone. There are always people giving something of themselves to create an experience for someone else. This week, that was you. To everyone pictured here, and especially those who aren’t: Thank you for the work. Thank you for caring about the details. Thank you for taking care of one another and our clients. And thank you for giving so much of yourselves to make these few days special for everyone else. 𝙂𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙩𝙪𝙙𝙚. 𝘼𝙡𝙬𝙖𝙮𝙨. #CONN26 #Culture #Gratitude #Teamwork #NTSTway

Tom Herzog liked thisTom Herzog liked thisIt’s funny how imposter syndrome doesn’t care what you’ve accomplished. Walking into HCAOA this week for the first time in a few years, I’ll admit it: for a moment, I felt like an outsider. That feeling didn’t last long. The hugs. The old friends. The new connections. The hallway conversations. The people who simply said, “I’m glad you’re here.” I was there representing Momentum Healthcare & Technology Consulting, and I walked away with phenomenal new relationships, conversations and opportunities I’m genuinely excited about. Jordan was there representing IDEAL for Healthcare, and watching something we started continue to grow was pretty damn special. Our mentorship program is launching. Our incredible board and committees have poured so much into making it happen. AND we announced our first standalone IDEAL Summit, happening one year from now. Yes. A YEAR. So I don’t want to hear that you couldn’t plan ahead. 😉 A special thank you to Jason Lee and Andrea Martinez for making space for IDEAL to be there and share what we’re building. It meant a lot. And yes, there were a few moments when I didn’t feel particularly welcomed. But they taught me something too: The few people who make you question your place should never be louder than all the people reminding you that you have one. Not everyone has to understand you. Not everyone has to appreciate you. Sometimes bridges need rebuilding. And none of that means you don’t belong in the room. I left HCAOA incredibly grateful for the people, the conversations, the opportunities and the reminder that I really do love this industry. It was good to be back. Tom Herzog reacted on thisTom Herzog reacted on thisToday is the last day of Suicide Prevention Month, and I have something to say. I've battled suicide ideation. I've been there... I'm still here. So let me reintroduce myself. I'm the one you never worried about looking from the outside. BUT I've fought anxiety and depression. Some days I still do. I've broken fingers and a wrist. Taken 54 stitches to the face. Played three sports growing up in Kansas. I'm a husband and a dad of three. A musician. A Jayhawk fan to my core. I've been a Fortune 500 exec and an innovation delivery leader. Today I'm a founder. I'm Craig. A few years ago I stopped hiding the first part of that list. I expected people to think less of me. What came back was "me too." Over and over. From teammates, executives, parents, friends. People I would have bet had it all figured out. That changed me. Its a big reason I co-founded Myndset. The teenage me had no words for what was happening in his head and no tools to handle it. That inner critic with a megaphone was loud! Too many kids, athletes and leaders are still stuck right there. Tomorrow the calendar flips to October. I'll still be talking about this. Check on your strong friends. Say the hard thing out loud. And if you're in the dark right now, stay. Call or text 988. The other side is worth it. I'm living proof. Tell your story. Somebody out there is waiting to say "me too." 📣 What MIPS Means for Healthcare Providers (And Why It Matters in 2026) Healthcare reimbursement has evolved beyond simply billing for services rendered. It’s now tied to quality, outcomes, efficiency, and the use of technology. That’s the core of the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS), and it’s reshaping how practices approach care delivery and revenue. Here’s what providers and medical billing teams need to know: 🧠 MIPS moves the needle on performance. Providers aren’t just measured on volume they’re scored on how well they deliver care through four performance categories: Quality, Cost, Promoting Interoperability, and Improvement Activities. Strong performance can lead to positive Medicare payment adjustments, while poor reporting or low scores can reduce reimbursement. 👥 Eligibility impacts your bottom line. Most clinicians billing Medicare Part B must participate unless they’re newly enrolled or under the low-volume threshold. Staying on top of eligibility and reporting requirements is critical. 💡 Billing teams play a strategic role. Success under MIPS isn’t just a compliance task it’s a competitive advantage. Accurate reporting, timely submissions, and collaboration between clinical and billing staff can protect revenue and improve patient outcomes. 📈 The takeaway: MIPS isn’t optional performance bureaucracy it’s a pivotal part of how Medicare views value. The better we understand how it works, the better practices can align care delivery with financial health. Check it out 👉 https://lnkd.in/gN5ZxRj4
