Guru Gowrappan posted thisI’m excited to welcome Kausik Rajgopal to Asurion as our Chief Revenue Officer. I've known Kausik for a long time, and I'm thrilled to have him join the team. He's an exceptional leader, and I've always admired his ability to tackle complex challenges, build great teams, and earn the trust and respect of the people around him. I have no doubt he'll make a meaningful impact at Asurion. Kausik brings a unique combination of strategic thinking, operational excellence, and deep experience from leadership roles at PayPal and McKinsey. As we continue expanding our role as the CTO of the Home across the connected technology ecosystem, he'll play an important role in helping us deliver on that vision. Welcome to the team, Kausik!

Guru Gowrappan posted thisThe first 250 years built the foundation. The next 250 are ours to build on. As Lincoln said: it is for the living to carry forward the unfinished work. For generations, America has enabled those who serve, entrepreneurs, innovators, scientists, builders, and dreamers to pursue ideas bigger than themselves. As we celebrate this historic Independence Day, I’m grateful for a country that continues to reward curiosity, hard work, resilience, and the courage to take risks. As an immigrant, I’ve been fortunate to experience the opportunities this nation makes possible. Celebrating my first Fourth of July as a father adds an even deeper sense of gratitude and responsibility. My hope is that the next 250 years create even greater opportunity for the generations that follow. Happy 250th Birthday, America. 🇺🇸

Guru Gowrappan shared thisThe way people experience technology is changing. Customers expect their connected lives to work simply and reliably. That's the opportunity in front of us at Asurion. Asurion NEXT was about aligning our teams around what comes next, building a more connected, continuous model for tech care. We're off to a strong start. Now the focus is on execution and building the platform that powers connected lives at scale. I shared more on how we're thinking about this shift here:

Guru Gowrappan shared thisLast week, I had the opportunity to spend time with our teams across the Philippines — visiting our technology center, supply chain operations, and customer solution sites across the region, culminating in the opening of our newest site in Cebu. You can learn a lot from updates and dashboards, but there’s no substitute for experiencing the work where it happens. Our teams in the Philippines play a critical role in how customers experience Asurion. Whether it’s AI platform work, a support interaction, or a replacement device, tech care happens one moment at a time — and those moments are how we build trust. The opening of our Cebu site is an important step forward, strengthening our ability to deliver at scale while also creating meaningful career opportunities for our teams. Thank you to everyone who welcomed us and for the work you do every day. It matters. I’m excited for what we continue to build together.

Guru Gowrappan shared thisThere’s something energizing about coming together as one team. We held our regular global town hall this week to take a clear look at where we are and where we’re going. We’re off to a strong start improving how we show up for customers and evolving the business through innovation and AI. It was also valuable to have our leadership team together to review progress against our OKRs and stay aligned on priorities. We’re seeing real progress, with more work ahead. Thank you to our teams for the focus and commitment you bring every day. That’s what continues to move Asurion forward.

Over the years, we've evolved Asurion Complete Protect to meet customers' changing needs. Our newest enhancements take that commitment further, adding Norton 360 Deluxe cybersecurity and in-person tech support to our all-in-one protection plan for eligible Amazon purchases. Guru Gowrappan shared thisWe brought our team together for Asurion’s annual Kickoff — my first as CEO. Last year, Asurion celebrated 30 years of innovation. It's a powerful reminder of how we’ve consistently stayed ahead of what customers need next. Now we’re stepping into the next chapter: becoming the CTO of the Home — the trusted platform that protects, connects, and solves technology for customers and partners in an increasingly hyperconnected world. Realizing that vision requires more than incremental progress. It demands that we evolve how we operate, harness AI at scale, and reimagine how we show up in the moments that matter most. This team knows how to win. And if we stay bold, aligned, and relentlessly customer-focused, our next decade will be even more defining than our last. The best is ahead. Let’s go build it.

Guru Gowrappan shared thisThis week marks an exciting step forward in Asurion’s strategy to meet the needs of today’s connected homes as we announced our acquisition of Domestic & General, one of the world’s largest appliance-care providers. The combined company will accelerate Asurion’s vision to become CTO of the home by providing a single, trusted provider for every device and appliance, ensuring faster service and a more seamless experience for millions of customers around the globe. By broadening Asurion’s customer-end markets, extending our geographic reach, and creating new channel partnerships, Asurion will extend its leadership in the fast-growing, $150+ billion connected home devices market. I look forward to partnering with the team at D&G and the exciting opportunities to come. Guru Gowrappan shared thisI’m proud to share that I’ve been appointed as the incoming Chief Executive Officer of Asurion, effective October 27. Asurion has spent more than three decades building something exceptional — a global leader in tech care, trusted by millions of customers and powered by nearly 20,000 passionate people. It’s a company with a strong foundation, a clear mission, and a culture built on care, divine discontent, and heart. I’ve admired Asurion for years; having partnered with the team as a client during my time at Verizon Media, I saw the company’s impact and culture up close. I want to thank Tim Stadthaus for his 17 years of leadership and impact. I look forward to working alongside him in his new role as President of Strategy and M&A as we continue to shape Asurion’s next chapter. The world’s relationship with technology is changing faster than ever, and advances in AI and automation are creating new opportunities to anticipate needs, remove friction, and deliver even more value to our partners and consumers. Asurion is uniquely positioned to lead that transformation — helping people stay connected, protected, and confident in a digital world. Together with Kevin Taweel, our leadership team, and everyone at Asurion, we’ll build on what’s made this company great — scaling new growth engines, deepening customer trust, and unlocking the next wave of innovation and impact. The foundation is strong, and the future is even stronger. I couldn’t be more energized for what’s ahead!Guru Gowrappan shared thisAsurion has appointed Guru Gowrappan as Chief Executive Officer, effective October 27, 2025. Guru Gowrappan liked thisGuru Gowrappan liked thisAn incredible day for our leading enterprise colocation data center business Csquare as the company successfully listed on the NYSE. When Brookfield combined Evoque and assets from Cyxtera to create Csquare, we saw the opportunity to build a leading, scaled digital infrastructure platform by bringing together complementary facilities in key North American urban markets, investing in operational excellence and strong channel partnerships to create AI-ready capacity to serve customers over the long term. Today's IPO is an important milestone in this evolution and demonstrates the value that can be created through disciplined investment, operations-led value creation and strong execution. Congratulations to Spencer Mullee CEO and the exceptional Csquare team. Today's achievement reflects their hard work and commitment over a number of years. It has been a privilege to chair this business for the last three and a half years and to oversee its development and growth. I'm looking forward to the next phase, serving on the Board and Executive Committee as Csquare begins life as a public company. I'd like to welcome Jack Hellmann as Chair, and I look forward to continuing to work alongside Jack, the board, Spencer and the management team. Congratulations to everyone who played a part in reaching this key milestone.

While I can go on and on about the interesting work and problems being solved there, all I am reflecting on now is the fantastic people I had the privilege to grow with and learn alongside these past two years. There are far too many to name (and you know who you are anyways), but I am so grateful to have started my career with such an amazing group and community. Excited to share that I am joining Anduril Industries in Irvine as a Software Engineer on their Air Defense team to work on robots that knock other robots out of the sky. Onwards 🚀

Guru Gowrappan liked thisGuru Gowrappan liked thisI rarely post...but I'm excited to share our progress modernizing markets! I joined BNY in part to drive market transformation for our clients. Always-on. This is the future of capital markets, and today I'm pleased to share another step toward making that vision real. Earlier this year, BNY facilitated a U.S. Treasury transaction after traditional settlement hours, showing how market activity linked to digital asset ecosystems can continue beyond traditional cut-off times. As client needs evolve and markets become more global, we're advancing 24/7 UST settlement and financing while laying the groundwork for tokenized Treasuries and Blockchain-based settlement. BNY's scale across the asset lifecycle -- issuance, settlement, trust services, financing, custody and clearing -- gives us a unique opportunity to connect flows and data in ways that make markets more efficient and accessible for clients globally. Our approach to responsible innovation is grounded in the trust and resilience of today's financial infrastructure. Proud to be working alongside Laide Majiyagbe, Brian A. Ruane and Cathinka Wahlstrom on this initiative. And special thanks to Rajeev Sambyal, Victor O'Laughlen, Jr. and Leon Crutchley! Bloomberg has the full story below. https://lnkd.in/euzs4FGb

Sowmyanarayan Sampath, former CEO of Verizon Consumer, will become Chief Executive Officer effective September 1, 2026, succeeding Steve Smith, who is retiring as CEO and will remain on Zayo's Board of Directors. Under Smith's leadership, Zayo more than tripled its planned fiber expansion and completed the acquisition of Crown Castle's Fiber Solutions Business, adding approximately 90,000 route miles and 40,000 on-net enterprise locations. Sampath now builds on that momentum, bringing more than two decades of large-scale digital infrastructure experience as demand for high-capacity connectivity accelerates across AI workloads and hyperscale environments. Enabled by our new commercial and platform operating models, our people are coming together to support our clients and deliver strong financial performance. We grew revenue by 13% year-over-year to a record $5.7 billion and generated 600 basis points of positive operating leverage, a pre-tax margin of 40% and an ROTCE of 31%. Growth was broad-based across Securities Services, Market and Wealth Services and Investment and Wealth Management, reflecting healthy client activity as well as the impact of our continuous investments and strategic actions to enable differentiated solutions for our clients. 🇮🇳 When India's former President launches an AI book, history is being made. CamCom "AI&" launch with Hon'ble Shri Ram Nath Kovind ji wasn't just another startup milestone - it was a defining moment for India's technological sovereignty. It was fascinating to listen to His Excellency and the founders converse about AI's role in national strength. Here's why this matters deeply: 🎯 Strategic Focus : While most startups chase consumer apps, #CamCom has built "India's 1st #LVM platform" for something that actually matters - keeping our #aircraft flying safely. Every maintenance decision on our defense jets and commercial airliners can now rely on indigenous AI, not foreign dependencies. 🏛️ Leadership Validation : When a former President and Supreme Commander participates, you know we're talking national security, not just another product launch. His framing of AI as a "responsibility" rather than mere innovation reflects the gravity of what we're building. ⚡ Dual-Use Brilliance : Defense & civilian #aviation maintenance. This isn't just smart business - it's how you build sustainable #sovereign capabilities that serve both national security and economic growth. 🚀 AI& Philosophy : Their "AI&" branding says everything - AI plus deep domain expertise, AI plus aviation knowledge, AI plus defense understanding. That's how you build unassailable moats. For years, I've been a crusader for exactly this approach - combining strategic defense applications with practical civilian use cases for Bharat. So my gratitude to Ajith and Umesh for inviting me to author this book. This aligns perfectly with #Atmanirbhar Bharat - not just assembling foreign components, but building foundational technologies that other nations will want to license from us. 📚 What's Next : Very soon, I'll be sharing 20+ chapters I've authored based on real engineering, combat, and leadership experiences - the blueprint for building sovereign AI that serves Bharat's future. The playbook is clear. The #leadership is committed. The technology is proven. #AIForBharat #TechnologicalSovereignty #CamComAI #DefenseInnovation #AtmanirbharBharat #AILeadership #AviationTechnology #IndigenousAI #NationalSecurity #MadeInIndia #AIStrategy Mahesh Geetha Vinay Nihar Debarshi

Bilt CEO/founder Ankur Jain published his annual letter today. Publicly posting an annual letter requires commitment to constantly iterating and continuously raising the bar. It's easy to forget how hard it is to build a breakout company, particularly one that pioneers a whole new category defining set of ideas. In this letter, he talks about the significant progress the business has made and is honest about the challenges that come with hyper growth. The company started with the belief that commerce starts where the home is. Shopify made it easy for merchants to sell to consumers online. Ecommerce penetration in the US is still <20% of total sales. Focused on the rest of the pie, Bilt has built the platform for neighborhood commerce. Consumers can earn rewards for rent and mortgage payments and all their neighborhood spend alike. And when they leave their neighborhood to travel, Bilt provides them the richest set of rewards options on the market. This year the company is on track to process $100B+ in housing payments. To boot, Bilt enables real estate owners and managers to offer renters a modern hospitality platform integrated into the systems that touch maintenance, amenities, move-in logistics and more. Neighborhood merchants also benefit from Bilt's software and are able to reward Bilt members who dine, ride, or spend with them. Bilt members benefit from the company's new AI concierge and can earn rewards whether they have a Bilt co-brand credit card or not. On the topic of their credit card, as the company transitioned from their prior one-card-only offering to multiple card options (e.g., Bilt 2.0), they saw 83% of original card holders request one of the Bilt 2.0 cards. 30%+ of that group opted into premium cards. And since that Bilt 2.0 transition a few months ago, cardholders are spending 2.1x what they previously were on non-housing spend. Neighborhood partners who work with Bilt are seeing significant uplift in Bilt member spend. Onwards to the team (cc: David M. Wyler, Daniel Seder, Brandt Smallwood, Zoe Oz) and company. Bilt is the membership for where you live.

This article, co-authored by Vardaan Ahluwalia and me lays out India's significant new Research Development and Innovation Fund initiative in the context of other successful interventions: when governments and the private sector work together, they can make a transformative difference to deep technology entrepreneurship. Equally, initiatives to help manage financial risk should be followed by structural reforms in areas ranging from intellectual property regulation, ease of clearances for start-ups, tax rationalization in capital gains and options that helps start-ups attract talent, and a visa regime that attracts leading global researchers. https://lnkd.in/gk92YSZa

Over 11,000 healthtech startups have launched in India since 2014, and yet, funding continues to tell a different story. In 2024, the sector raised just $0.7 billion across 78 deals. Even in Q1 of 2025, of the $301 million raised, nearly all came from a single $275 million round by Innovaccer. The shortage of capital has early-stage innovators struggling to succeed. The potential is immense, but unless we nurture a wider base of startups with sustained domestic capital, India risks missing the healthtech opportunity. #Healthtech #Funding #Startups #Innovation

For those from Kerala, I recently wrote on the second-order effects of private equity investments in Kerala’s hospital sector, and what this might mean for the long-term health of the state’s healthcare ecosystem. Kerala has historically had a distinctive model, with a strong public healthcare system, a large number of charitable institutions, and doctor-led hospitals that prioritised patient outcomes and long-term trust. In the piece, I explore how these institutions might continue to remain competitive as ownership structures change. https://lnkd.in/gq6FjYJi

When 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘆 conversations begin to echo hypotheses you framed nearly a decade ago, it is both validating and humbling. At 𝗔𝗜𝗠 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝘃𝗮𝗮𝗱 hosted by the Atal Innovation Mission Official in New Delhi, leaders discussed structured performance frameworks, governance models, and measurable impact for 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝗰𝘂𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 (𝗧𝗕𝗜𝘀). The themes felt deeply personal. A decade ago, my PhD focused on Performance Indicators of Technology Business Incubators in India, well before performance-led incubation became a national priority. Supported under projects of the Department of Science & Technology, Government of India, the research asked a simple but fundamental question: 𝘏𝘰𝘸 𝘥𝘰 𝘸𝘦 𝘮𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘢 𝘛𝘉𝘐 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘭𝘺 𝘴𝘶𝘤𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘧𝘶𝘭? Unlike the traditional academic route, I entered academia after industry. I worked with Dabur, Ranbaxy Laboratories, and YES Bank, building and scaling within systems before studying them. I was a practitioner first, aligning closely with the University Grants Commission’s “𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲” philosophy. My research advocated: • Outcome-led incubation over infrastructure-led models • KPI-linked public funding • Strong governance accountability • Structured academia–industry–capital integration • Measurable socio-economic impact What were once research hypotheses are now policy discussions. Today, beyond academia, I support Deep Sciences and DeepTech commercialisation as an angel and venture enabler across 40+ companies, translating research into revenue and laboratories into market-ready innovation. I continue to bridge academia and industry, not as a commentator, but as an 𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗿. Because innovation is not just published. It is built, scaled, and sustained for public impact. Meet the Women Torchbearers: 38+ Leaders. $30B+ Value. The Architects of India's Multi-Sectoral Dominance For years, venture capital was concentrated around "familiar patterns." But today, these torchbearers are proving that the most sustainable, high-margin institutions are often built by those who once had to "do more with less" Here are 6 heavyweight insights from the people redefining Indian commerce: 1) Falguni Nayar (Nykaa) Role: Founder & CEO She built India's first women-led unicorn to go public, reaching a market cap of over ₹67,000 Crore. By creating an integrated "Phygital" experience with 2,500+ brands, she moved the market away from traditional deference toward a hero-led consumer beauty ecosystem💄 2) Ghazal Alagh (Mamaearth) Role: Co-founder & CIO Under her leadership, Mamaearth became one of India’s fastest-growing FMCG brands, scaling to a valuation of ₹8,746 Crore. She pioneered the "MadeSafe" toxin-free certification in India, pushing ingredient transparency into mainstream personal care for millions of households 🌿 3) Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw (Biocon) Role: Executive Chairperson A pioneer of affordable innovation, she scaled Biocon from a garage startup to a global biopharma leader with a market cap of nearly ₹60,000 Crore. Her vision has made life-saving insulin and cancer drugs accessible to a global market across 120+ countries 🌎 4) Upasana Taku (MobiKwik) Role: Co-founder & COO A leading voice in fintech, she helped build a digital financial infrastructure reaching 140M+ users and 4M+ merchants. By securing five regulatory licenses, she transitioned MobiKwik from a wallet to a full-stack financial platform that successfully hit the public markets 🏦 5) Vineeta Singh (SUGAR Cosmetics) Role: Co-founder & CEO She disrupted a beauty market dominated by global giants by focusing on inclusive, homegrown products tailored specifically for Indian skin tones. Scaling to ₹1,000 Crore in turnover, she successfully transitioned from a purely digital brand to a retail powerhouse with 45,000+ touchpoints 👸🏻 6) Ruchi Kalra (OfBusiness) Role: Co-founder Leading one of the few profitable B2B unicorns, she helped build a raw materials giant valued at $5 Billion. By providing SMEs with tech-enabled procurement and integrated credit solutions, she is architecting the backend "rails" for India's massive manufacturing sector 💳 ➡️ The Insight: The "Torchbearer Effect" isn't about diversity alone; it's about Capital Efficiency. Data shows women-founded startups generate 10% higher cumulative revenue over five years with significantly less funding. They aren't just building companies - they are building the future blue-chips of a scientific, high-margin Indian economy 🇮🇳
