David Burk shared thisMy nephew is looking for a job. Take a look--he has the detail-oriented eye of a keen programmer. :-)David Burk shared thisHi everyone! I’m looking for a new role in EdTech and would appreciate your support. I’m eager to bring my skills, experience, and expertise to a new opportunity. Over the past year and a half, I’ve built on the experience and skills I acquired during my career in education in order to pursue my goal of designing, developing, and managing software products. I’ve gained hands-on experience in product development by building a portfolio of five software apps, each addressing a real-world problem, and each giving me the opportunity to learn a valuable new skillset. I’m eager to find a position where I can combine my software skills with my 8+ years of experience managing projects, streamlining organizational processes, and crafting clear, concise resources for the educational organizations where I’ve worked. I’m looking at jobs in EdTech, but am open to other opportunities as well; if I can support you or an organization you know, I’d love to hear about it. A few of the areas that seem like good matches for my background and experience include: 💻 EdTech 📝 Technical Writing 💡 Learning & Development 🚀 CSM 🛠️ Project Management 📊 Product Management If you know of any opportunities, let’s connect. Deeply grateful, and excited for this next leg of the journey. #OpenToWork #EdTech #LearningAndDevelopment #CSM #ProjectManagement #ProductManagement

David Burk posted thisThis should be a fun one. A friend is looking for PR help from someone who knows the San Francisco banking and real estate community, with some crisis public policy and obnoxious detractor stuff thrown in now and again. Anyone want to volunteer or refer someone? I will funnel all recommendations through to her.

David Burk shared thisTY to all who helped son #2, Emmet Burk, find a new job! LinkedIn community, you paid it forward!!! He got a dream position and is enthusiastically digging in. And now for son #1, Ezra Burk. He's obsessed with data--mountains of data, tons of data, unimaginable amounts of data--and how to move it, consolidate it, scrub it and visualize it so businesses can get value out of it. He's certified in MS Power BI, working on cert in Tableau. He seems to be able to get a cert in 30 days. Anyone out there want to give a kid a break? First job out of college, very eager, will learn whatever platforms you want quickly. He's a people-pleaser, incredibly funny, and a repository of information on animals and science fiction. A good value and a sure-fire win for the any of you looking for a diamond in the rough. Can you please help with any leads, connections or thoughts? Thank you!!!! I love being back on LinkedIn!

David Burk posted thisPay it forward request! My 23yo son, Emmet Burk, is graduating from Pitzer College this Saturday. He has decided to use his Psych degree, gregarious personality, resourcefulness, great writing skills and sense of humor to start a career in sales. EVERYBODY needs good salespeople--anyone out there have ideas for a starting place for him? I'm biased, but even if I weren't, I'd say the company that gets him gets a true diamond in the rough. Thank you for any help!

David Burk shared thisIt's been 2+ years since the death of my wife of 25 years, Rebekah Kaplan. I have avoided social media entirely since then, and I retired the day she died. For those of you wondering, it's been a difficult trip, but our family has finally emerged from the crater of grief. We're doing fine. There have been so many celebrations of her amazing legacy, and here is another. This is a collection of favorite recipes she saved over a lifetime, complete with food stains and annotations appropriate for an extraordinary Jewish mother. Enjoy, and please share it with anyone you please. She'd be thrilled. https://lnkd.in/gsMJu4qM

David Burk shared thisOur family is finding great comfort in keeping my wife's spirit alive through the Rebekah Kaplan Memorial Scholarship for Midwifery. Rebekah was an early and ardent force for midwives; she taught generations of students, edited a leading textbook, published many papers and, according to one organization, trained almost 80% of the midwives in California. We have raised $115,000 for this scholarship fund; $10,000 more gets it endowed in perpetuity. If you are moved to donate, our family will be grateful in perpetuity and you will honor an incredible woman and future midwives. Thank you to the ~300 people who donated so far. And thanks for considering it. https://lnkd.in/gTZsNDmy As for me, some days are good and some are bad, but I am cycling, playing golf, reading and doing a grief group. All are helpful, as are your kind thoughts, texts, flowers, cards and avalanche of love. This is, by far, the worst thing that ever happened to me; I am carried to my unknowable future by colleagues and friends like you. #love #thankyou #future #students #midwifery #midwives

David Burk shared thisTo my family of professional friends. Today marks the 30th day since I lost my wife to a tragic bicycle accident. I’ve taken a leave from work; I have no idea if I’ll return. I have had a joyous, raucous and thrilling career, and it was winding down anyway. I’ll be keeping up on LinkedIn for a while, as my greatest joy has been to watch the stratospheric career rises of so many friends, colleagues and former employees. So, post early and post often. To anyone who has ever worked with me, I’ll repeat what I’ve said all along: It’s all about love in the end. It would be a great honor for me if you learned about me through my wife. She was a professor of midwifery at UCSF, and there is a scholarship in her name. If you're moved to donate, I can't thank you enough. It's all in my journal entries at Caring Bridge. #thankyou https://lnkd.in/d4Bf4VVu

David Burk posted thisAnother Burk Pro Tip Friday: <snipping the long story that preceded this revelation>. The purpose of life and career is practice. It's a practice that you keep up, with highs, lows, breakthroughs and failures. Holistically, this is true of all of life--keep a practice going on what gives you joy, eg cycling, meditating, yoga, swimming, cards, board games, language learning, tech certifications. The growth mindset will come along for the ride. :-) #career #mindset #growth #learning

David Burk liked thisDavid Burk liked thisI built an AI Chief of Staff that is more effective than an $82k-a-year hire 🧠 🤯 It's built in Claude, and its whole job is to hold on to everything so I don't have to. The problem it solved is boring and everyone has it. I was using AI constantly and starting from zero every single time. Same background, same project history, same "so we're a company that does X" preamble, pasted in again, twice a day. 🫠 The chat was smart. The setup around it had no memory at all. So I built six things. 1. A project vault. Every project has one home for decks, transcripts, strategy docs, meeting notes and numbers. Nothing lives only in someone's head or someone's downloads folder. 2. Memory. Sessions carry forward. It knows what we decided last week, so I don't have to re-explain the company before I can ask a question. 3. Daily skills. Today's priorities, a brief before each meeting, a shutdown at the end of the day, tomorrow's plan, and research it goes and does on its own. 4. Context-grounded drafts. Emails, memos and scripts start from what's actually happening on the project, not from generic internet sludge I then have to rewrite into something true. 5. A weekly ingest. It pulls in what changed across meetings, docs, Slack and email, shows me what belongs where, and updates the vault once I say yes. 6. A drift check. It hunts for stale claims, contradictions, decisions we quietly forgot, and prospects sitting in the CRM with no next step against them. That last one surprised me most. A system that catches its own rot is worth more than a system that's tidy on day one. What changes is that context starts to compound. Every meeting and every decision makes the next piece of work slightly easier, instead of evaporating the moment I close a tab. If you're using AI a lot and it still feels like hard work, that's usually why. The intelligence is fine. Nothing is holding on to it for you. You don't need all six to feel the difference. Pick one project, put everything about it in one place, and see how the next conversation goes. What's the thing you find yourself re-explaining to AI every single day? Start there. 👇

David Burk liked thisDavid Burk liked this25 years. Per the BLS, about 35% of US businesses make it to 10. Even fewer hit 25. In the information industry — our neighborhood — only 29% are still standing at the decade mark. So the math on a quarter-century is, statistically, somewhere between “improbable” and “please stop, you’re embarrassing the spreadsheet.” And yet, here we are. The Jellyvision Lab turns 25 today, which feels both impossible and exactly right. Twenty-five years of weird ideas, weirder pivots, brilliant people, questionable snacks, late nights, launch days, layoffs, comebacks, murder (the game, not the crime), cupcakes, conference rooms named after things they probably shouldn’t have been, software that worked, software that absolutely did not work, customers who believed us anyway, and somewhere along the way, an actual category-defining product. I’ve thought a lot about what to say here and I keep landing in the same place: it was the people. It was always the people. The ones who built things that didn’t exist yet. The ones who stuck around when sticking around was the harder choice. The ones who left and came back. The ones who left and didn’t come back but who shaped us anyway. The ones quietly doing the un-glamorous work that made the glamorous work possible. The ones who told the truth in meetings when the truth wasn’t fun. The ones who sweat the small stuff which was actually the big stuff at the end. The ones who made me laugh so hard I forgot what I was stressed about. And especially the ones who forgave my jokes and memes and whirling dervishness and broke bread, drank wine, and inspired me for oh so many years. I adore you all. If you’ve ever worked at Jellyvision, sold for Jellyvision, bought from Jellyvision, partnered with Jellyvision, or been partnered with someone who came home from Jellyvision and needed to vent about Jellyvision — thank you. Genuinely. You’re part of this. Twenty-five years is a long time to do anything, let alone do it with this many people you actually like and respect. Happy 25th birthday, Jellyvision. Here’s to the next chapter. And to whoever’s still here in 25 more years — be kind to the legacy code. It tried its best.

David Burk liked thisDavid Burk liked thisAfter an acquisition, my time working with tvScientific has come to a close. I’m so grateful for having had the opportunity to help shape the brand during such an exciting stage of growth, and to collaborate with an incredibly talented team. Now I’m looking for my next full-time design role! I’m a brand/visual designer focused on bold identity systems, marketing campaigns, motion, and interactive work — especially for tech and product-led companies. I love turning messy creative ideas into clear, cohesive visuals that actually perform. If you’re hiring (or know someone who is), I’d love to chat! Portfolio: AlexRosenthal.net

AI has changed how marketing teams think. It hasn’t changed how most teams execute. Ideas happen in ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, Gemini. Execution still lives across a maze of tools, handoffs, and status checks. That gap — between thinking and doing — is where momentum gets lost. We built Asana AI connectors because AI shouldn’t sit outside the work. When your AI tools can see what’s actually happening across campaigns and launches, teams stay aligned and move faster — without more meetings or busywork. AI that helps you think is powerful. AI that helps teams execute together is transformative. That’s the shift we’re making. 👉 https://lnkd.in/gfPm7K6m

I don't care if you use AI, just make it good. All of this hand ringing and get-off-my-lawn-ism is not going to age well. The history of tools is littered with premature reactions—from the piano to the Moog synthesizer—universally these innovations are first seen as diminishing the value of the end product until true practitioners learn how to master them and produce works of even greater variety. Related anecdote: I have access to a paid Pangram account. At first it was interesting, then it became just noise. The reason is simple: it's not a measure of taste, it's a measure of statistical likeliness. Who cares if you used AI to write it. If it's awesome, it's awesome. If it sucks, it sucks. Let the end result be the judge, not some statistical algorithm.

Great interview Aidan McLaughlin! Indeed sits in a remarkable storytelling position. On a micro level, we see individual lives change every day. On a macro level, we see global patterns of supply and demand that almost nobody else can see. That combination is powerful.

A new article from Kristina Monllos in Marketing Brew calls out the trend of “AI slop,” a growing reminder that audiences value authenticity from brands more than ever. She mentions that while some brands may want to show off their AI tool capabilities, using AI in the end product of an ad may be antithetical to brands that value real-life connection and quality. This applies to the B2B world too. AI can be a powerful engine for fueling meaningful connections at events, but leaning on generic AI-generated content only adds to the noise. To truly stand out, brands need to show that they understand their customers’ real needs, not just automate their way through them. You can read Kristina's article here: https://lnkd.in/eTw6AvgE

Becoming AI-native starts with Claude, and takes a network of tools and expertise. Starting today, Claude Marketplace brings that network together in one place: → Add connectors and plugins: 2,000+ for the tools your teams already use, like Atlassian, Notion, and Salesforce → Buy agents and products: Claude-powered software from CrowdStrike, Cursor, Harvey, and Snowflake, which customers can buy with a portion of their committed Anthropic spend → Scale with service partners: experts from the Claude Partner Network, like Accenture, Boston Consulting Group (BCG), and Deloitte Read more on the blog: https://lnkd.in/eT5rmXYU Proud of the team that brought this together.
