Alex Virdee reposted thisAlex Virdee reposted thisI believe the pet industry is about to undergo one of the biggest digital transformations we’ve ever seen. Historically, much of the industry has been fragmented: • disconnected marketplaces • isolated services • limited audience ownership • outdated systems • minimal integration between welfare, education and commerce But consumer expectations are changing rapidly. Pet owners now expect: ✔ trusted ecosystems ✔ educational content ✔ seamless digital experiences ✔ safer transactions ✔ stronger community ✔ transparency and welfare alignment At the same time, technology is accelerating everything. AI, audience data, smarter platforms, automation and connected digital ecosystems are beginning to reshape how people discover pets, access services, learn, and engage with brands. The companies that dominate the next decade won’t simply be “pet businesses.” They’ll be ecosystem builders. That’s one of the things that excites me most about building FurLife Group right now. We are still in the early stages of what I believe will become a much larger transformation across the global pet industry. #FurLifeGroup #PetIndustry #DigitalTransformation #PetTech #Innovation #Startup #Marketplace #FutureOfBusiness #AnimalWelfare #Technology #BusinessGrowth #GlobalBusiness #FutureOfPets

Alex Virdee reposted thisAlex Virdee reposted thisSeveral months ago, PurePaws was just getting started. Today we now have 30+ sign ups, 15 breeder applications, and 10 approved breeders actively on the platform. We're growing this intentionally. Curated and quality focused committed to providing a safe and responsible experience for breeders and families. We've also recently brought on an additional developer to help accelerate feature development, and working closely with a connection in marketing to sharpen our growth strategy. Still early and much to do but the foundation is getting stronger every week. Grateful for the growth and helping shape what PurePaws becomes.

Alex Virdee shared thisBuilding my own platform, PurePaws, has been a labor of love. I’m truly enjoying working on my own product. Looking forward to building and growing it even more in the new year!Alex Virdee shared thisAfter months of building (starting back in the Summer of 2025) writing code, testing flows, fixing edge cases I’m realizing this: The hardest part of building isn’t always in the code. It’s telling the story behind what you’ve built and are working towards. PurePaws is being created with one simple goal: to help responsible dog breeders connect with caring families all in one place with transparency and trust at its core. From Stripe integrations to dashboards and public profiles the platform has come a long way. I’m excited to keep building in 2026 and continue making PurePaws better for breeders and families. Wishing everyone a safe and joyful holiday season! #purepaws #startup #responsiblebreeding

Alex Virdee shared thisAlex Virdee shared thisMe and a few of the The Cherry 450. One year ago, when we all got laid off from our health-tech jobs, we banded together and… well we vented and drank wine and just existed together … but we also supported one another with job leads, resume help, and general encouragement. The Cherry 450 gave me something to log into and be apart of everyday which made being unemployed feel purposeful and the start of something new instead of the end of a road. In hindsight, I owe a large chunk of any success I’ve enjoyed in the past year to this community who took a heartbreaking event and turned it into family. Thanks Alex Merkert 🍒, Chris Estes, MBA, SHRM-SCP🍒, Jess Stevenson, Miranda (Lawhon) Winar and everyone else I’m forgetting.

It's building her entrepreneurial spirit, giving us a way to give back to our community, and giving me another excuse to use AI. 🤝 The giving side Our next batch of donated prints is headed to JungleGym in St. Pete, Florida for their Safari Games, a ninja competition for kids with autism and other physical or developmental differences. We're printing custom keychains and fidgets so every competitor goes home with something made just for them. 🛍️ The business side We just launched our Spooky Season collection 🎃 and in October we hit our next milestone: selling at a local market for the first time. Claude did the heavy lifting on our brand, business cards, banner, catalog, and even some of our designs, including an NFC-enabled business card holder. 💳 Special thanks to #GlobalPayments for setting us up with a #Genius device so we can take card payments at the booth. 🛒 Check out the shop: https://lnkd.in/eXNu4TNg #smallbusiness #3Dprinting #entrepreneurship #givingback #Claude

Alex Virdee liked thisI use AI a lot, and I see one problem with it. The more I use it, the more I notice that I start losing some understanding of what is actually happening in the project, even if I review code daily. When AI does most of the work, of course I move faster, but I also feel less connected to the codebase. I do not want to optimize only for speed. I still want to write code, debug things, and understand how everything works, but it is getting harder to do that. This will become one of the biggest problems with AI-assisted development. Some people say coding is solved. Maybe, or maybe not. But I see the real problem somewhere else. If you do not write code yourself, at least some critical parts of it, one day AI might not be able to fix something for you and you will be stuck. Or maybe that never happens, and we just become AI slaves forever. #AI #SoftwareEngineering #Programming #Developer #AICoding #Tech

It’s hard to put 5 years into a few paragraphs, especially when this chapter has been such a significant part of my career. When I joined, Provet was just beginning its journey in the US. Over the years, I had the opportunity to help bring the product to market, build our presence across North America, and watch what started as an idea grow into a platform used by veterinary practices across the country. I’m incredibly proud of what we built, but even more grateful for the people I had the opportunity to build it with. Thank you to my teammates, customers, partners, and everyone who played a part along the way. I’ve learned a tremendous amount from all of you. Saying goodbye is bittersweet. But I’m proud of the impact we made and grateful for everything this experience has given me, both professionally and personally. Thank you to everyone who was part of the journey. Excited for what comes next.

I’ve worked for Citi since I was 21 years old, so this has been pretty hard for me. I have spent the last few weeks processing, grieving what I have always known, and learning how to move through into the unknown. BUT- I am my father’s daughter and I have persevered through some pretty hard times in my life, and made it to the other side, I will get through this too. I am moving on with positive optimism, a growth mindset, and with the most dedicated focus to finding my next 15 years (or more) at somewhere new, where I can show off the skills and my talent that I spent all that time curating and perfecting to the best of my ability. I would be so grateful to you, my LinkedIn community, if would take a moment to check out my profile and keep me in mind, or reach out to me with any promising job opportunities that you may have or see come up. To all of those that helped mold me at Citi to become who I am today, especially the teams I have managed, I have unwavering gratitude and love for you. Thank you for being the best people I have had the honor and pleasure of working with and getting to know. 🩵

Alex Virdee reacted on thisAlex Virdee reacted on thisA quick personal career update and something I’ve never shared with my LinkedIn network before. Alongside my career in tech, I’ve spent the past few years building something close to home: a watch business with my brother. We called it Refined Movements. What started as an idea became a real business. I helped establish the foundation, from the website and processes to the infrastructure and operating model, while my brother has taken the lead on day to day operations. It’s been exciting to see that work translate into something real, with nearly 50 five star Google reviews and a growing base of repeat customers. What I didn’t fully anticipate when we started was how much the experience would complement my career. Building a business forces you to think beyond your functional role. I’ve gained exposure to customer relationships, authentication, working capital, P&L, and building systems that can scale. The same principles I apply professionally at Atlassian working in AI and automation: simplifying processes, creating leverage, and building for scale. Between building something meaningful with my brother and continuing to grow in my career, it’s been a fulfilling chapter, and I’m excited to see what’s ahead for both. So, to my network: if you’re ever looking to buy, sell, or trade a watch, or simply want to learn more about the market, feel free to reach out! I’d be happy to connect you with the team at Refined Movements :) 👉 refinedmovements.com
