  • I ruined a first date last night. We were at a cozy wine bar. Candlelight, jazz in the background, a charcuterie board that cost more than our AWS bill. She smiled and asked, "So what do you do?" That was my moment to be a normal human. To say "I work in tech" and ask about her dog. Instead, I said: "Have you heard of Agent Led Growth?" She hadn't. A switch flipped. "First there was Sales Led Growth," I said. "A rep calls you, takes you to dinner, closes the deal." "Like this?" she asked. "Exactly like this. Then came Product Led Growth. Free trial. You fall in love on your own." She took a slow sip of wine. "But now there's a new buyer. AI agents. They research, compare, and recommend products before a human ever gets involved." She put the glass down. She tucked her hair behind her ear and leaned in. "Which means brands aren't just marketing to people anymore. They're marketing to agents." She was fanning herself with the wine list. "And the companies that use Gauge to optimize for it are going to win everything." "Everything?" she whispered. "Everything." She grabbed her coat. "Check, please." I thought I'd blown it. Then she said, "Your place. I want a demo."

  • Had a pretty insane encounter at our event last Friday. We hosted a small social for agent builders with TinyFish at the Starlite Lounge penthouse of the Beacon Grand. I was chatting with one of the guests, and asked how he found out about our event. He said he was only in SF for one night, as he'd been traveling for a conference. On his Uber ride back to the hotel, he figured he'd try and find something interesting to do, so he asked Muse to find an event that matched his interests and sign him up for it. 30 minutes later, there he was. It's always been our thesis that agent-led growth matters for more than just developer tools. It's crazy just how fast that shift is occurring.

  • Last Friday, we handpicked 50 product/growth leaders & founders for a happy hour with TinyFish. The results were even better than I anticipated. Met tons of cool builders and expanded the Gauge network/community. There were no talks about our products. Just drinks, food, at the top floor of the Beacon Grand. Targeted events beat mass invitations on Luma any day of the week.

  • Last week we had the chance to get out of the office and celebrate what we've accomplished at Gauge. We're usually heads down all week, so it was cool to pause for a second and cherish the progress we've made. I think a lot of it boils down to actually enjoying spending time with each other. Only in the age of AI can 5 people have this much velocity. Excited to be adding 2 more to our team soon, and can't wait to see what the future holds! 🚀

Docs in 2026 are fundamentally different than docs in 2025. Mintlify has a front row seat to the data and shows that over 66% of traffic is coming from AI agents. Next Tuesday, I'll be joining David and the team Mintlify to share how agents are consuming context and why documentation has has never been more important. We'll share how AI is using documentation as a key source of context, share learning from thousands of docs sites and coding agent sessions, and make concrete recommendations for how you can improve the usability of your product for coding agents.
