We sat down with Billy Shore, Founder & Executive Chair at Share Our Strength His answer wasn't about resources. "We don't lack food in the country, we don't lack food programs," Shore said. Sometimes it just takes an idea and a sign on the door. That is how Billy Shore, Founder & Executive Chair of Share Our Strength, described the start of his work to end hunger. After years in presidential politics and campaigns, Billy and his sister brought their skills in community organizing, fundraising and media to the nonprofit world. The 1984 Ethiopian famine put hunger in front of them. Live Aid and USA for Africa were on the way, powerful and celebrity driven. But moments like that tend to fade. So they asked: "Could we build a more lasting institution?" Then they got started. That is the kind of leadership we gather to learn from at Prosper Forum.
