Domain Summit

Very happy to announce Lars Jensen, Founder & CEO of ShortDot, as a featured speaker at Domain Summit Asia 2026 in Bangkok 🇹🇭 ShortDot has just taken a very big step. For the first time, the company has entered an ICANN new gTLD application round = submitting 40 applications covering 80 proposed strings. That gives us quite a few things to talk about in Bangkok :) Which new extensions make sense? What makes a new TLD commercially viable? How do you build registrar distribution? What have registry operators learned from the previous generation of new gTLDs? And perhaps most importantly — what does the next round mean for registrars, domain investors, brands and the wider domain industry? Lars has been building ShortDot since 2017, and today the company operates extensions including .icu, .bond, .cyou, .cfd and .sbs. ShortDot is also one of our partners for Domain Summit Asia, so I am particularly happy that Lars will be joining us again. There should be plenty to discuss. 📅 6–7 December 2026 📍 Holiday Inn Bangkok Sukhumvit by IHG 🇹🇭 Bangkok, Thailand Registration and event information: https://lnkd.in/eQVvBMch See you in Bangkok, Lars! #DomainSummitAsia #DomainSummit #ShortDot #Domains #DomainNames #NewgTLDs #ICANN #Registries #Bangkok

Hong Kong → Bangkok 🇭🇰✈️🇹🇭 Very happy to announce that Louise Wong will be joining us again as a featured speaker at Domain Summit Asia 2026. Louise was with us at Domain Summit Asia in Hong Kong last year, and I am very pleased that our conversation will continue this December in Bangkok. Louise is Special Counsel at HKIAC (the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre), where she leads its domain name dispute resolution work. She is also Secretary-General of the Asian Domain Name Dispute Resolution Centre (ADNDRC). For domain investors, registrars and registries, this is a particularly important side of our industry. Most of us spend our time thinking about acquiring, selling, developing and operating domains. And then occasionally comes the much less pleasant question: Who actually has the right to a domain name when there is a dispute? UDRP decisions, trademarks, bad-faith registration, legitimate interests, investor rights and changing domain-name jurisprudence can have very real consequences for both businesses and domain owners. Louise works with these questions every day. That is exactly why I want the legal and dispute-resolution side of the domain industry properly represented at Domain Summit Asia — and not hidden away as an afterthought. Very happy to have you back with us, Louise. 📅 6–7 December 2026 📍 Holiday Inn Bangkok Sukhumvit by IHG 🇹🇭 Bangkok, Thailand Registration and event information: https://lnkd.in/eQVvBMch See you in Bangkok! #DomainSummitAsia #DomainSummit #Domains #DomainNames #UDRP #HKIAC #ADNDRC #ICANN #Bangkok

Another person I am very happy to bring to Bangkok 🇹🇭 Veronique Duong will be attending and speaking at Domain Summit Asia 2026. I only recently met Véronique in Paris at NDDCamp, organised by our French friends David Chelly, PhD and Marc-Olivier Bernard. We had a chance to talk there, and it quickly became obvious that her work sits right in the middle of several subjects we want to explore much more deeply at Domain Summit Asia: SEO, GEO, AI search, domains, content and, importantly, how all of this works across Asian markets. Véronique has been working in SEO for many years, including international SEO and visibility on Google, Baidu, Naver and other Asian search platforms. More recently, a lot of her work has naturally moved into GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) and the question of how companies and websites remain visible when people increasingly search through ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and other AI systems. Interestingly, at NDD Camp she was already discussing the journey from a domain name to an AI-built website, and what happens next with Google, LLM visibility and monetisation. So yes = we definitely had to continue this conversation in Asia :) Very pleased that Véronique accepted our invitation to join us in Bangkok. 📅 6–7 December 2026 📍 Holiday Inn Bangkok Sukhumvit by IHG 🇹🇭 Bangkok, Thailand More information and registration: https://lnkd.in/eQVvBMch See you in Bangkok, Véronique! #DomainSummitAsia #DomainSummit #SEO #GEO #AISearch #Domains #DomainNames #Bangkok #Thailand

Edmon Chung is coming to Bangkok 🇹🇭 Very happy to announce Edmon Chung, CEO of DotAsia Organisation (.Asia), as a featured speaker at Domain Summit Asia 2026. Edmon was with us at Domain Summit Asia in Hong Kong last year, and I am really pleased that he will join us again - this time in Bangkok. He has been involved with .Asia since its early days, and over the years has also played an active role in ICANN and the wider Internet governance community. He has worked extensively around multilingual domains and IDNs as well, so there are very few people who can speak about the development of the Asian Internet and domain industry with the same first-hand perspective. And, of course, .Asia is also one of our Registry Partners for Domain Summit Asia 2026, which makes this announcement even nicer for us. Edmon knows this industry extremely well, but more importantly, he always brings interesting things to the conversation. I am looking forward to hearing what he has to say about where the Asian domain and Internet market is heading next. 📅 6–7 December 2026 📍 Holiday Inn Bangkok Sukhumvit by IHG 🇹🇭 Bangkok, Thailand See you in Bangkok, Edmon! https://lnkd.in/eQVvBMch #DomainSummit #DomainSummitAsia #DotAsia #Domains #DomainNames #ICANN #Bangkok
