The scammers send out emails using a leaked email + password as "proof" of having installed malware on your machine. The reason this is interesting is that it's evidence of an until-now unknown user DB breach of Livejournal.

I had something similar the other day (never had a LiveJournal account though). Same email.. 750 BC else my "porn habits woukd be shared"
and my password was sent to me in an email in lowercase -
I have no idea what site it's from though in my case. It's a password I used back in 2000/2001 and do remember using it more recently for something that I didn't really care about too much at the time (normally use a password mgr) bit for the life of me can't remember where now.

I got a email like this, too, with lowercase-converted password. My LiveJournal account is about 10 years old, and I think I never changed the password. The account history doesn't show any foreign logins or anything suspicious in general.

Was just searching Twitter to see if you'd mentioned this - I just got one of these sextortion emails, and no mention of the email address in haveibeenpwned, so consider this another confirmation. My password was NOT converted to lower case.
