Sakura Quest

I would’ve liked to see Funimation tackle Fate/Apocrypha, but I guess it would be hard to get dubbing rights from Netflix.
Funimation dubbing a Netflix series has actually been something I’ve been pondering about myself; I’m actually wondering about that situation myself with Kakegurui. After all, Funimation has home video distribution rights for The Seven Deadly Sins, so dubbing a Netflix series should be the next logical step. Plus, would a simuldub of a Netflix series mean it gets put up there faster? Or does Netflix want dubs in multiple languages before a series is considered ready to be available?
It’s more based on how Netflix releases its content. Their entire model is mostly based on binge-watching: therefore, they will release an entire season at once, so that people can quickly watch in a short amount of time. Simuldubbing/ weekly releases doesn’t jive with their system, and. Plus they want to have the largest audience possible for when they release it, so they’ll wait until the dub is finished before they release it online. A shame, but it’s how they work.
I wouldn’t write off Funi dubbing a series, though from the looks of the other Netflix Original Anime, they’re relying on a California right now.

I mean, I would rather wait 2 more weeks for a dub than the 1-2 years it used to take for dubs to be released.

Are you kidding? MHA is the only one I watched dubbed since it released same day. Why didn’t you just finish the season with the same schedule you were doing? Guess I’ll have to go back to Crunchyroll…lame.
Honestly the only reason I have a Funimation Subscription is for Hero’s Simuldub. If that’s going away I see no reason to keep paying for something I don’t use. There is not much of a selection of anime that I like personally.
Also, you can’t really call it a “Simuldub” anymore if its gated by 2 weeks between each episode. Simuldub implies that its dubbed simultaneously alongside the Japanese dub. 2 weeks is not simultaneously, its now just a regular dub.
Its a shame, I really loved the voice acting but I am sure I can adapt to the Japanese dub too.
I’m excited for what’s coming, but I kind of don’t want same-day SimulDubs if it means a gap down the line… Kudos to the hard-working writers, actors, and A/V crew for their efforts, but going two weeks without a new MHA is going to kill me. I need my consistency!!! *flails about like a child in the throes of a tantrum*

Sweet! Epic summer of animes! Sucks about Academia, but my dream is for all anime to be simuldubbed same day at some point in time! It’s just not fair japan gets it first and we have to wait, but good work funi, been loving these simuldubs and they just get better!
well my life is complete what a wonderful line up you have there funimation i especially am looking forward to knights and magic as well as another world with a smartphone and reflection those seem so cool im glad i only have to wait weeks per episode its a pleasant change from years of waiting plus i hear testament new sister devil part 1 is out soon on bluray thank you for that i hope to see many more amazing animes become dubbed quite soon

Should have been more up front about the simuldub being temporary with Hero Academia, I’m seriously tempted to just cancel now and subscribe to CR, not so much over the fact that they will be 3 episodes ahead, but more that I feel cheated finding out about it so late.

The one new show That I found to be surprisingly delightful to watch and I eagerly wait for each week it The Restaurant To Another World. It is entertaining and fun, I would not have expected such an Anime to actually hold my interest as I normally go for comedy or action Anime. I sincerely hope there are more then 5 episodes to this lighthearted and whimsical Anime.
