Different Avenues

Welcome to Different Avenues!

At Different Avenues we believe in our inherent ability to make change within our own communities, as women of color. Being located in the Washington, DC Metro Area, we live in an area that is experiencing the most intensive gender, race, and class-based health disparities in the nation. As those experiencing the daily impact of these issues, we believe we are best positioned to make change in the policies, practices, and systems that contribute. Through building and sharing leadership skills, we will organize to make change and improve and protect the health, rights and safety of women and girls in this region and thus nationally.

At Different Avenues all of our work is framed by our core values. We believe that it is essential for the means by which we accomplish our mission to be critically guided by our values, and so they remain always at the forefront of our efforts.
