Kris Holland shared thisSince day 1 (or at least nearly 1), we've been big into video at Kitto Towers. And recently, we put together a really brilliant video to show off lots of the video we've worked on. In a world where it's easier than ever to send 10,000 personalised emails, actually putting people and their stories on camera is becoming even more impactful. So, if you want to talk about doing that, hit me up.

Kris Holland shared thisSpoke to a marketer yesterday who had a lot on their plate, for really exciting reasons. The business they work for is going 🚀, and a huge part of that success has been down to the events and community strategy they've adopted since setting up a few years ago. The reason for the particularly full plate is that they (the Marketing Manager) is being flown out to the US for a 2 weeks of events. In their words, they've spent the last 3 months preparing for the next 2 weeks. For lots of companies, the idea of flying anyone but billing consultants anywhere would be crazy. But for those companies making the most of the opportunities presented by a proper growth marketing function, they realise the value of it and that that person being there might well 2 or 3x the ROI on that event from everyone else. It's time to talk growth functions in recruitment, which is a team sport.

Kris Holland shared thisA weekend of music! The Streets on Friday night and The Sunshine Underground Saturday. Both at Kirkstall Abbey, which was a fantastic venue. Great to see more/ newer places in Leeds putting on shows. Then, onto a big week in Kitto Towers. Hearing back on some mega proposals, keeping the wheels moving with our existing clients and getting set for an intercontinental trip in the not too distant future 👀 If you’re a recruitment leader in the big apple or Boston (and reading this at 2am) and want a F2F meeting in August, hit me up…

Kris Holland shared thisNew personality trait unlocked. After my first experience of sauna/ cold plunge last week with our EoQ celebrations, it’s now obviously all I do and talk about. Kicked off today in there again with Amity Watts and it’s so good. Although when you get in the cold plunge I do think that might be what dying feels like? Anyone else into it?

Kris Holland posted thisI've had the pleasure of presenting to 3 businesses in the last week, all of which have different needs. All of which we've got a great track record in. 1️⃣ Very exciting agency with the coolest clients I've ever seen. Super experienced in house Director who wants an alternative to starting again with a team. We'd aim to wrap around that person and be the creative arms and legs to help take what's already an amazing brand to the next level. 2️⃣ A business in growth mode with a fantastic infrastructure but right at the start of their marketing journey. With no dedicated in house presence, we'd take on the full strategy and execution of it, as their outsourced in-house marketing department and help them stand out and grow, crucially working to some tangible but achievable ROI numbers. 3️⃣ Another belting brand, with an internal marketer doing a great job, but headed off on mat leave. The job here is continuity - being a quick-to-ramp safe pair of hands and delivering progress in her absence, so we can keep up the momentum and hand back over. It's always a pinch me moment when I'm getting to have this level of conversation with this level of business inside less than a week. 🤞 they go our way. And if any of these sound like you and you'd like a chat about how we can help, hit me up!

Kris Holland shared this"Strategy without tactics is the slowest route to victory Tactics without strategy is the noise before defeat" Not to get too bro-y about it, but that's 👆 a Sun Tzu quote I came across at the weekend in a book. And not to get too LinkedIn-y about it, but it's bang on for marketing in recruitment. 🗺️ "Strategy without tactics is the slowest route to victory" Top heavy leadership team, lots of grand plans for marketing. Super high yellow/ sapphire/ I personality types who love starting things but not finishing. 🔊 "Tactics without strategy is the noise before defeat" Marketing Exec/ Manager in house. Trying to be proactive, but ends up super reactive. Doing a huge amount of 'doing'. CEO says: why aren't we doing SEO? Why aren't we doing a podcast? Let's send some emails. Nothing joined up, and then shocked when something doesn't work. You need the plan and the ability to execute it. There's also a fine balance as to how much time you spend on the plan, too. Don't spend 3 months on a 12 month strategy because by the time it's done, everything's changed. If you use Kitto, you get CMO level strategy and expertly executed tactics. So, if you want to win just like my friend and yours Sun Tzu did (I assume?) then get in touch.

Kris Holland shared this“One elephant on the shirt” Whilst we might be out of the World Cup, the Kitto train rumbles on. Just a little bit sadder. But not for long! Pitching to a phenomenal business today in the big smoke before high tailing it back up north in the company of Holly Hermance for some Kitto end of quarter celebrations tomorrow!

Kris Holland shared thisRecruitment is basically lots of different companies selling very similar services. Lots of you say, when we ask "what's special about your business?" say "our people". So on that, it stands to reason that you'd want to showcase your people in order to stand out from all the other companies selling an almost identical service. If you could change the logo on the corner of your website and noone would notice, that's not a brand. If you notice any of the stock footage you have on your website ANYWHERE else in the world, that should ring alarm bells. Don't underestimate the importance of differentiating yourself and distilling your 'secret sauce' through your brand. If you have no idea where to start with that but think it's time - give me a shout, we'd love to help.
-
Kris Holland shared thisIf your consultants are sat 'doing sales' and then do a big sigh when you ask them to 'do marketing' then our webinar this afternoon is for you. Ben Browning and I will be chatting about how to build a growth function today at 1pm; notably how those two functions should, and can, work together. Kris Holland liked thisKris Holland liked thisI spent over a decade building my career from an SDR to Head of UK New Business in Europe’s largest PE backed software company, eventually landing as Sales Director for an amazing Global demand gen company, but in January this year I decided to complete the loop and start again, by going back into an IC role… for lots of reasons. And it’s been the best decision I could’ve made. Having a sustained break from people, strategy, budgets, forecasting and being the conduit for all stress down from the board and up from the team is a liberating thing. Forcing myself back into the IC mindset has made me sharp again… I’ve always been a sales leader in the trenches helping generate leads, close deals and coach on the field but you don’t realise how things change, the market adapts and you forget how hard the IC role is from a leaders seat. You realise how easy it is to be patronising/condescending to a highly talented sales organisation. And personally, family life… I’m lucky I landed that Consensus as you’re treated like an adult, it’s a fully remote role but aslong as you do the “world class basics” you’ve got a lot of freedom to make sure your family doesn’t suffer from your absence. I’ll be be a much better leader when the time comes for that, again, with this experience. I’d encourage all leaders to get back in the seat in some capacity, at different periods. You’ll learn a lot about yourself in the process. I’ve never been scared of a challenge, and pushing myself out my comfort zone; it’s been the thing which has accelerated my career over the past 14 years but I can’t lie, I was a little nervous about being a true Enterprise AE again after a long time out the seat… That said, I’m buzzing to report that I’m ending my first full quarter 116% to target and 92% for the year. What better way to destress before next quarter kicks off, on Monday, than an early morning round of golf ⛳️ We won’t walk about Ross Kirkland not showing up for the tee time 👀 🍻

Kris Holland liked thisKris Holland liked thisBowling in Leeds. Karaoke in Manila. Same team, one very good Friday. Two Fridays ago, the whole of Kitto took the day to celebrate a strong Q2, just in very different ways depending on which side of the world you were on. Our UK team started the day with a sauna session (yes, really), then moved on to lunch, bowling in Leeds and drinks to finish. Meanwhile, our Philippines team spent the day exploring Manila, packing in activities before ending the night on karaoke. Different cities, different plans, same reason: making time to properly connect and celebrate as one team. Roll on Q3. We can't wait to see what it has in store.🧡 #Kitto #TeamCulture #RecruitmentMarketing

Well yesterdays plans changed quite quickly 😆and I ended up attending The Scotsman Highlands & Islands Green Energy Conference 2026 and so glad I did!🍃 And it was interesting listening to conversations about the future of the Highlands, energy, investment and economic growth. Since launching the Highland Division last year I have been enjoying attending more and more events and as someone who is working in recruitment across the region it’s becoming more apparent there is a theme… A few quotes really stood out to me: 💬 “The Highlands are recognised as the powerhouse of the UK.” 💬 “The Highlands have never stood on the sidelines of change – we shape it.” 💬 “If we don’t have challenge, then we’re not doing enough.” The more I listened, the more one thing became clear: the Highlands are at the centre of something very significant…. We’re seeing major investment arrive and continue to grow. Projects are progressing. Organisations such as SSEN Transmission, investment from Sumitomo Electric, Green Freeport status, and developments across renewable energy and infrastructure are creating real momentum…. What was equally encouraging was the focus on people and communities…. Which is something I am passionate about and have pioneered since launching… The discussion wasn’t just about generating power. It was about creating the conditions for stronger communities, well paid employment, affordable housing, and giving people a reason to stay in the places they grew up 🧡 Young people are increasingly looking towards renewables and future industries. The Highlands have some of the best energy resources in Europe, from our hydroelectric heritage to the next generation of clean energy, energy storage and innovation. Of course, growth brings challenges. Housing and transport were themes throughout the day. But resilience is just as important as growth, and creating sustainable communities must sit alongside economic development. When I think about what the Highlands can offer, it’s much more than jobs: 🏔️ A better lifestyle 💷 Well paid employment 👨👩👧👦 A safe place to raise a family 🤝 The friendliest communities 🌱 A chance to build a career in industries shaping the future ⚖️ Work - life - balance 😍And of course breathtaking scenery on your doorstep!! The opportunity ahead is enormous, but perhaps my biggest takeaway was this: “The Highlands aren’t waiting for the future to happen to them. They’re helping to shape it.” #Highlands #Inverness #RenewableEnergy #CleanEnergy #GreenFreeport #EconomicDevelopment #EnergyTransition #Scotland #Recruitment #FutureOfWork #NetZero NT Engineering & Manufacturing Karen Stewart Danielle Scott Jonny Elliott Holly Clark

Big news for Scotland’s green energy future The Scottish Government has granted final consent for SSE Renewables’ 4.1GW Berwick Bank Offshore Wind Farm — a game-changing step towards net zero. Located ~38km off the Scottish Borders, Berwick Bank could become the world’s largest offshore wind farm, generating enough clean electricity to power 6+ million homes annually. ** Consent granted under Section 36 of the Electricity Act ** Culmination of 10+ years of development by SSE Renewables ** Would increase Scotland’s renewable electricity capacity by nearly 25% Economic impact: ** £8.3 billion potential boost to the UK economy Up to 9,300 jobs created at peak construction - 4,650 of them in Scotland Berwick Bank is a cornerstone of the UK’s Clean Power 2030 Plan, which targets 50GW of offshore wind capacity by 2030. Stephen Wheeler, MD of SSE Renewables, said it best: “Berwick Bank can play a pivotal role in achieving Scotland’s climate goals and the UK’s clean power ambition.” What’s next? SSE now awaits a successful outcome in the Contracts for Difference (CfD) AR7 auction to move forward with final investment and construction. A huge milestone for UK energy security, job creation, and climate action. The renewable energy talent war is global and the pipeline isn't keeping up. Every scaling IPP I speak to is wrestling with the same challenge: the skills needed for utility-scale development, grid integration, and hybrid projects are scarce, and you're competing with developers and infrastructure funds worldwide for the same shortlist of people. This is exactly why proactive talent strategy, and not reactive hiring, is what separates the IPPs that scale smoothly from those that stall at critical moments. What's the hardest role to fill on your team right now? #RenewableEnergy #IPP #Power #CleanEnergy #TalentStrategy #Headhunting #Recruitment #Renewables

Massive congratulations to the entire AFC Energy team! We’ve worked alongside AFC Energy for more than 10 years. We know the people behind the progress, the setbacks, and the persistence it takes to turn big energy ideas into reality. They’ve now received Environment Agency approval to export and sell low-carbon hydrogen from their Dunsfold ammonia cracking pilot. It brings revenue forward and shows the system works exactly as intended. More importantly, it turns clean hydrogen from an idea into something real and usable. Milestones like this matter. They show real progress toward cleaner energy and a more sustainable future. 👏👏 Full announcement: https://lnkd.in/djitrghx - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - New here?
