Last week at a community roundtable, the chat turned to DE&I in tech leadership, and it got personal.. A few clients spoke openly about their struggles to close the diversity gap at senior levels. While DE&I pledges are everywhere, the actual pace of change varies wildly from one organisation to the next. Some are making real progress, tying leadership goals to measurable outcomes. Others are still figuring out where to start. What stood out were the stories from women and underrepresented folks aiming for those leadership seats. Many talked about the need mentors and colleagues who can fight their corner, and how much difference a visible, supportive network can make. That’s why events like Women in DevOps matter so much to me. 🌍 Yesterday marked International Women’s Day. A moment to imagine a world where opportunity in technology is truly equal. A world where diverse voices are heard, leadership is representative, and the next generation of women in tech can see a clear path forward. This year’s theme, Give to Gain, captures something our community has always believed. When we share knowledge, create space for new voices, and support one another’s growth, everyone moves forward. It’s been a busy time here at Women in DevOps, and it’s all thanks to those who want to share their stories, to the businesses who want to diversify and create more equitable workplaces, and to the growing community of engineers, leaders, and allies who continue to show up, support one another, and push for a more inclusive future in DevOps. 🙏 Thank you!
