Curious?Edit Avital שיתף את זהBouclair Year In Review 2021 We are more than 1000 colleagues at Bouclair. We are PASSIONATE, HARD WORKING, DEDICATED and we always work as a TEAM! I am proud of my colleagues and would like to highlight some of our collective achievements over this past year. 1. Record Sales 2. Record Profits 3. We renovated 9 additional stores (Beauport, Whitby, Levis, Hull, Brampton, Lachenaie, Waterloo, Marche Centrale, Newmarket). 4.We have plans to renovate 10 more stores next year, which will bring our total new concept count to thirty. 5. By the end of 2022, 80% of our revenues will come from e-Commerce and our New Concept stores (talk about a BRAND TRANSFORMATION💪). 6. We opened our 1st Urban Flagship store in Griffintown (Montreal, Quebec). 7. As part of our Griffintown store, we also launched Galerie B, to spotlight local emerging artists and to provide the artistic and creative communities with a platform to express themselves and an opportunity to be discovered (We value CREATIVITY!) 8. We increased our team sizes in Canada, Israel and Ukraine (makes for better parties 🍷). 9. We invested in and implemented multiple new systems and are in the process of adding several more, which will accelerate our TRANSFORMATION. 10. We are investing significant sums to renovate our corporate office and transform it into a hybrid between a luxury home and a boutique hotel with community, cooking, art and music as the central focus (We realize that post-Covid, no one wants to work in a $&@& environment anymore!). I want my colleagues enjoying, being relaxed, stimulated, feeling creative, and generally being well taken care of. It’s good for them, it’s good for their families and it’s good for business. (Psst: I’m also betting that some of you will want to join us too 😁. Hurry up though, as there are a limited number of spaces available for acoustic guitar lessons and only a few spots left in the Introduction to Finance class. 11. We declared ourselves a WFA(Work From Anywhere) company. We understand that people want to have breakfast at home, walk their dog, drop their children off at school and work out during the day. We will all gather for two half-days per week (making sure we avoid traffic) and meet with our teams, brainstorm and connect and eat together (based on what we are creating….I think some people may want to spend more time at “work”). AND I PROMISE YOU, WE ARE JUST GETTING STARTED…2022, HERE WE COME!!! Edit Avital הגיבו על זהEdit Avital הגיבו על זהWhen You Have The Right Approach So, my two daughters (9/sitting/cashier and 7/left/celebrates each sale) and their friends set up a lemonade stand outside our house. Our street is pretty quiet. Very few cars drive by. So, I thought to myself, nice idea but it will never work. BUT....the two older kids came up with an interesting idea. FREE LEMONADE which they yelled at each car that went by. 75% slowed down and/or stopped, and half of those "bought" a glass of lemonade....and EVERYONE put some money into the TIP jar (brilliant). $38 dollars in around 90 mins. I am not an experienced lemonade stand operator, but I think they may have just come up with a new twist on an old business. Edit Avital הגיבו על זהEdit Avital הגיבו על זהA Moment Of Personal Reflection As I write this, I am sitting down and enjoying a veal chop that I have just grilled on my BBQ, while drinking a glass (under statement!!!!!) of red burgundy wine. I am scrolling through IG, and noticed a post from Bouclair that made me reflect. Like all entrepreneurs, I too, grind it out each and EVERY day. (To the young entrepreneurs out there, who are asking when will things get easier....when will interest rates go back down to "normal" and when will they have to stop grinding....I SAY...HA!!) In a world of inflation, high interest rates, mortgage payment challenges, and a slowing economy, it is not always easy to see the positive. However, I invite you to look at the picture I posted. Did you know that when I led a management buyout of Bouclair (I was 32 years old), the company sold fabrics by the metre, sewing accessories, shoulder pads, buttons, thread and needles!?! YUP, 100% true. At this point, it almost feels like a dream that I barely remember but it really was the case. My point is that vision, hard work, dedication, resilience and time, absolutely have an impact. When you look at the living room in this photo, I want you to think about the journey it took to get there. (What is the best way to eat an elephant? One bite at a time). Is business easy? In my experience, NO. Is the future crystal clear? In my experience, NO. Are there always challenges? In my experience, YES. Am I proud of my team and confident that we will always find our way...YES! In life, it is important to stop and eat the veal chops (not my best line, but at this point I am on glass #3???)
