Translation markup causing Parsoid error

Some of the translation markup causes raw "</tvar>" to show up in the rendered page when using Parsoid. The Parsoid team says this is an error in the markup, not Parsoid, and this page should be edited:

[The] page has wikitext of this form [mailto:info@wikimedia.org '''info@wikimedia.org'''] - the tvar is wrapping two different parts of the extlink (url, linktext) and that doesn't work. The two email ids should be wrapped separately with tvars. Or since it looks like the entire extlink does't need translation, they could get away with wrapping the entire extlink by moving the [ and ] inside the tvar. Same for the other instance.

Done - Fixed, I believe! Thanks, as always. Quiddity (WMF) (talk) 20:56, 15 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I was wondering whether the paragraph "If you need information about a specific website user, please refer to the Wikimedia Foundation's Procedures and Guidelines for Requesting User Information." links to the right page. Right now it links to Policy:Wikimedia Foundation Access to Nonpublic Personal Data Policy. But I would guess that it is supposed to link to Legal:Wikimedia Foundation Requests for User Information Procedures and Guidelines, right? Samoasambia (talk) 17:23, 20 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

Thank you - you're right! The change has been made in the EN version, and will now need to propagate across to the translations. Thanks very much for flagging this. PBradley-WMF (talk) 13:11, 16 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
