Which plan is right for me?
  • The Developer plan is perfect for solo developers, side-projects, and experiments. It includes 500 Docker build minutes, 2,000 GitHub Actions minutes, 2,000 Depot CI minutes, and 1 user, with additional usage billed monthly.
  • The Startup plan is great for teams building production applications. It includes 5,000 Docker build minutes, 20,000 GitHub Actions minutes, 20,000 Depot CI minutes, and unlimited users, with additional usage billed monthly.
  • The Business plan is for dev teams looking to scale, and includes additional security controls and deployment models.
What is Depot Cloud?
Depot Cloud is fully-managed remote build infrastructure, including both compute and cache. With Depot Cloud, we handle the infrastructure and orchestration, with no need to manage your own build infrastructure. Depot Cloud runs on AWS, and is available in the us-east-1 and eu-central-1 regions.
What is the usage granularity?
Docker build minutes and GitHub Actions minutes are billed on a per-minute basis, tracked per second. Depot CI usage is billed per second based on vCPU-seconds. We don't enforce a one minute minimum, so if you run a 30 second Docker or GitHub Actions build, you'll only be billed for 30 seconds. Test results are billed per individual passing test.
Can I self-host Depot? What is bring-your-own-compute?

You can connect an AWS account to your Depot account and Depot will use that account for build compute and cache storage. This ensures that your build data is entirely under your control and allows you to access any private services in your account during the build. Additionally you can customize the types of machines used for your builds.

Am I charged for build usage and storage?

You are charged monthly for build usage and storage. See usage granularity above for how build time is measured.

Storage is a single combined total that covers your container build cache, Depot Cache, and Depot Registry. All three draw from your plan's included storage, and anything above that amount is billed at $0.20 per GB per month. Storage is billed as the average storage used over the month, sampled hourly. Data transfer into and out of Depot Registry is free.

How are test results billed?

The Developer and Startup plans each include 1,000,000 passing test results per month at no charge. After that, it's $0.000001 per passing test, or $1 per 1 million tests. Failed, errored, and skipped tests are free.

When will I be billed?

Depot bills monthly on the 1st. If you sign up partway through a month, your first charge is prorated for the remaining days. Usage-based charges accrue through the month and appear on your next invoice on the 1st along with your plan charge for that month.

Are there discounts for non-profits or open-source?
Yes! Please contact us with more information about your project and for more details.
Do you offer credits for startups?

Yes, through our startup partner programs. Y Combinator companies can claim Depot credits from the YC deals page.

Startups approved for PostHog for Startups receive a partner code worth $5,000 in Depot credits. See our PostHog for Startups documentation for how to redeem it and what it covers.

Can I cap my usage so my bill doesn't run over?
Yes, you can set self-imposed usage caps to control monthly usage. If you reach a cap, Depot will stop running builds until the next month or until you raise the cap. You can change these limits at any time.
What payment methods are accepted?
For the Developer and Startup plans, we support monthly payments via credit card using Stripe. For the Business plan, we additionally support invoice billing, ACH, and AWS Marketplace.
Can I pay through the AWS Marketplace?
Yes! We support AWS Marketplace billing on the Business plan. Contact us for more details.
