Leonid Kulskyi hat dies geteiltProtoDevs GmbH is happy to release the new industrial platform - PD.Touchscreen_PLC ! 𝗧𝘄𝗼 𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀. 𝗧𝘄𝗼 𝘄𝗶𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝘂𝗻𝘀. 𝗧𝘄𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗹. That's what every automation project signs up for: a touchscreen to show the process, and a separate PLC to control it. We built the 𝗣𝗗.𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗰𝗵𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻_𝗣𝗟𝗖 to end that split — a 7" HMI and a full industrial PLC, in one compact unit. 🔹 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 → 48+ physical I/O points: 12 DI, 12 DO, 12 switchable AI, 12 switchable AO (4-20mA or 0-10V, software-selectable) → Ethernet+PoE, dual RS-485, CAN, USB, I2C, UART → Program it your way: open-source OpenPLC (full IEC 61131-3) or custom firmware via Arduino / PlatformIO / ESP-IDF / MicroPython on the onboard ESP32-S3 → IEC 61131-rated: -30°C to +70°C → Drop-in footprint: 200.5 x 137.9 mm, standard 189 x 127 mm panel cutout ✅ 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗳𝗲𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲, 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗳𝗲𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘂𝗿𝗲 — merge the display and the controller and you cut panel space, wiring hours, and a whole category of integration bugs at the same time. 𝗙𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗾𝘂𝗼𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 — fewer parts to spec, fewer cables to pull, fewer things for a commissioning engineer to debug on-site. 𝗡𝗼 𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗿 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗸-𝗶𝗻 — run it on open-source OpenPLC or write your own firmware. Your team keeps full control of the logic, forever. 𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗯𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱, 𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗿 — analog channels switch between 4-20mA and 0-10V in software, so it adapts to whatever's already installed instead of the other way around. 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 — built to IEC 61131 for temperature and EMC, so it holds up on the plant floor, not just on a bench. 𝗟𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘁 — one unit instead of an HMI plus a separate PLC cabinet, with a footprint that drops straight into standard 7" panel cutouts. From wellhead monitoring and artificial lift control to compressor stations, metering skids, and truck loading racks — one module replaces the cabinet. Leonid Kulskyi hat dies geteilt🔋 ProtoDevs GmbH Team just released the advanced field-tested (6-months) Firmware for our Smart LiFePO4 / LiIon battery management module with a full I2C/UART protocol — and I'm genuinely excited about what it enables! The board integrates a multi-cell Gauge, a solar MPPT 2x-channel input charger, and the ultra-low power MCU with a rich API command interface — all accessible from your host MCU in minutes. What makes this different: the entire board is software-configurable at runtime. No hardware respin to change charge voltage, input current limits, cell balancing, or MPPT behavior — just send an I2C command. A few key things the API lets you do: → Read live cell voltages, SoC (state of charge), temperature, charge/discharge current → Tune charger registers in-field (voltage limits, DPM, precharge thresholds) → Enable/disable cell balancing and configure MPPT on the fly → Store up to 4 user data fields in flash for application use → Push firmware updates over the wire — no physical access needed → Drive an eInk / TFT / LCD display directly from the board → Bus-connection supported to create multi-battery chargers → Vibe-coding-ready API description in TXT format - just upload it to ChatGPT or Claude and it will generate the control code → ... and much more! Communication is simple: I2C at 100 KHz (default address 0x3B), or UART at 115200 — including a human-readable text mode great for debugging. Optional CRC32 for mission-critical deployments. We're targeting IoT sensors, solar-powered field devices, and industrial remote monitoring — anywhere you need a reliable, long-life battery system that stays manageable over its whole lifetime.

Leonid Kulskyi hat dies repostetLeonid Kulskyi hat dies repostetLast week, we returned from the HANNOVER MESSE — a good moment to look back and reflect on the outcomes. For ProtoDevs GmbH, this event was more than just a showcase. It was an opportunity to validate our solutions through direct conversations with visitors, partners, and industry professionals. Our HMI display, PDScreen PRO (https://lnkd.in/dSR4WuC8), attracted the most attention — which was hardly surprising. Both visitors and fellow exhibitors highlighted its practicality: a fast and efficient way to upgrade production information panels without complex integration. A solution designed specifically for outdoor, industrial environments, already delivered to the market in 2025 with over 2,500 units deployed. We are planning an additional 3,000 units in the pipeline for this year. We also presented PD.Gateway (https://lnkd.in/dPXP2Qmu), which generated strong interest across diverse segments — from solar panel manufacturers and installers to companies in the camper van industry. This range of use cases once again confirms the product’s versatility and scalability potential. In addition, we brought a compact demo parcel locker to showcase our off-grid solution in action. It turned out to be a strong conversation starter — we saw a steady flow of questions and discussions from visitors exploring real-world applications and deployment scenarios. Hannover reinforced a clear message: the market is not just looking for technology, but for solutions that are easy to implement and deliver immediate business value. At Hannover Messe, we also had the opportunity to meet with two delegations from Sweden and Catalonia — sincere thanks for your time, insightful conversations, and genuine interest in our company, technologies, and innovations. To round off the overall impression of the Hannover exhibition, I also had the chance to listen to Toto Wolff live. It even meant standing in line for 30 minutes just to get into the session — absolutely worth it. Yes, I’m a Formula 1 fan. Who else here follows F1? Which team? 🏎️ Also, sincere thanks to THE LÄND team, and personally to Katja Dorongov, for the organization — everything was organized and delivered at the highest level, as always. It also makes a difference when you work with people who truly enjoy what they do. Thank you, THE LÄND! 🤩 🫶 Thank you to everyone who took the time to connect with us. Leonid Kulskyi gefällt dasLeonid Kulskyi gefällt dasNo two delivery networks handle parcels the same way. Some sites see mostly small parcels, others need space for bulky ones, and a one-size-fits-all locker rarely fits either. 👉 Modular column system: Mix and match compartment sizes to match your actual parcel mix, not a generic average. 👉 Fits your volume distribution: Size each site to its real throughput, from low-traffic locations to high-density hubs. 👉 Scales as you grow: Add or reconfigure columns as parcel patterns shift, without replacing the whole unit. For logistics operators, that means less wasted locker space, fewer failed deliveries due to mismatched compartment sizes, and a network that adapts to demand rather than fighting it. This is Cleveron 302, our indoor parcel locker.

Leonid Kulskyi gefällt dasLeonid Kulskyi gefällt dasI'm an Sr. AI engineer. I’ve led real projects and touched real systems. And yet… I hesitate to call myself an “expert.” Because I know how complex, evolving, and humbling this field really is. But every time I scroll, I feel like I’m watching a parade of overnight experts. People throwing around buzzwords. Selling courses. Telling others how to “not get left behind” in AI When they barely understand the difference between machine learning and magic. Let’s be clear: AI is powerful. It is changing industries. But it’s not a magic trick, and it shouldn’t be treated like one. Fear marketing? Promising secret formulas? Pretending they’ve decoded the universe after 2 hours on ChatGPT? We owe better to the people we’re trying to educate. And I say this as someone who’s still learning too Because anyone who really works in AI knows: "The more you learn, the more humble you become" If you’re new to AI: Don’t be afraid to learn. Just be mindful of who you learn from. We don’t need more AI gurus. We need real experts. Image credits to Eduardo Ordax

Leonid Kulskyi gefällt dasLeonid Kulskyi gefällt dasYesterday, I had the opportunity to attend the #Wirtschaftsforum Baden-Württemberg – Ukraine in Stuttgart, a forum dedicated to strengthening economic cooperation between Germany and Ukraine. What stood out most was that the discussions were focused not on future intentions, but on concrete actions. The agenda covered topics such as: - investment guarantees for German companies operating in Ukraine; - opportunities for new economic partnerships; - the role of Ukraine's IT industry in the country's economy; - collaboration in innovation, manufacturing, and defense technologies. The forum featured insightful discussions, real examples of ongoing projects, and open dialogue between Ukrainian and German businesses. Events like this demonstrate that the interest in working with Ukraine is genuine and driven by long-term cooperation rather than just declarations. As a Ukrainian, it was especially meaningful for me to be part of this event and to see how highly Ukrainian expertise, resilience, and the potential of the companies are valued. Many thanks to the organizers for the invitation ProtoDevs GmbH and to everyone I had the chance to meet and exchange ideas with. We often talk about oscillators as "just the clock source," but in high-stakes RF design, they are the heartbeat. When thermal instability creeps in, phase noise becomes the silent killer of signal integrity. An OCXO is a great start, but as this post highlights, a DOCXO architecture is what takes you from "good enough" to "mission-critical." What stands out to me is the physics of the double oven: it isn't just about heating the crystal; it's about isolating it from the environment to such a degree that the only thing left is the pure carrier. For anyone designing satellite links or precision instrumentation, this is the difference between a signal that works and a signal that performs. #RFEngineering #PhaseNoise #DOCXO #OCXO #SignalIntegrity #AerospaceEngineering #SatelliteCommunications #RadarSystems #PrecisionInstrumentation #HardwareDesign #DynamicEngineers #EverythingRF

With 10+ years of field experience, this really feels like a second nature to me, but I think it's a skill that can be learnt by anyone. In this video, I use Altium Designer, though you can apply these principles in any PCB design CAD, or even during the review of fabrication files. If you'd like to learn more, also check out the Dr EMC AI-based PCB diagnostics tool. This tool is specifically tailored for finding potential EMC issues in your Gerber files, without using learning algorithms or violating your IP - https://lnkd.in/enespmZ3 #pcb #EMC #electronicdesign #circuits https://lnkd.in/efGEYmT8

Choosing the right PCB layer count isn't just about space — it impacts signal integrity, power delivery, and cost. Here’s a quick breakdown: -) 2-Layer Board Simple and cheap. Ideal for basic designs, but not great for high-speed signals or dense routing. -) 4-Layer Board A sweet spot for many. Allows better signal routing and solid ground/power planes. Great for noise control and moderate complexity. -) 6-Layer Board Best for high-speed, high-density designs. More routing layers = better EMI control, impedance matching, and thermal performance — but at a higher cost. Bottom line: Stack-up isn't just about how many layers — it's about design goals and performance requirements. what do you think 🤔 Need help in electronics product design for your next project? PCB procurement checklist for #hardwareengineers - When procuring PCBs, engineering and sourcing teams should follow a structured checklist that validates BOM accuracy and assesses fabricator capabilities. - As a hardware engineer, NPI lead, or procurement manager, you must verify component lifecycle status, define attrition buffers, and evaluate cost impact before issuing purchase orders (PO). Article highlights: -> Component sourcing represents 60 - 80% of total printed board cost and is the leading cause of procurement-related delays. -> Defining attrition buffers prevents kit shortages, partial builds, and assembly schedule slippage. -> End-of-life (EOL) components must be identified during schematic and pre-release BOM reviews to prevent production interruptions. -> Checklist-based board procurement improves engineering and supply chain alignment. Read the article to learn the complete procurement checklist to help you prevent delays, sourcing risks, and maintain product launch schedules: https://lnkd.in/gF-eXWc3 --> Repost if you find it useful. #pcbdesigners #productdesigners #pcbfabrication #pcbassembly

DAY 26: Why MCUs Reset Due to Power, Not Code ⚡🧠 One of the most frustrating moments in embedded development is when an MCU randomly resets. The instinctive reaction is to blame firmware: stack overflow, watchdog issues, bad interrupts, race conditions. But in real hardware projects, the truth is simpler — and harsher: 👉 Most MCU resets are caused by power integrity problems, not software bugs. Here’s why power is usually the real culprit: 1. MCUs Are Extremely Sensitive to VDD Dips Modern MCUs run at high speed with tight voltage margins. A drop of even 100–200 mV for a few microseconds can trigger: brown-out reset (BOR) internal regulator collapse clock instability These dips are often too fast to see on a multimeter — but very real on a scope. 2. Transient Loads Starve the MCU Real systems don’t draw constant current. Sudden load changes from: RF modules (GSM TX bursts) motors and drivers LEDs switching DC-DC converters GPIO banks toggling together cause instant current spikes. If the local decoupling isn’t perfect, VDD sags — and the MCU resets. 3. Regulators Can’t React Instantly Even a “2A” regulator has: control loop delay transient response limits bandwidth constraints During fast load steps, only nearby capacitors supply current. If they’re too far away — or insufficient — the MCU sees a brown-out before the regulator recovers. 4. Ground Bounce Looks Like a Reset High current flowing through poor ground paths creates: ground bounce reference shifts false reset triggers clock glitches From the MCU’s perspective, VDD-GND briefly falls below safe limits — reset occurs. Again: not code. 5. Power Noise Corrupts Clocks Noisy power rails affect: internal RC oscillators PLLs external crystals Clock instability during a power dip can: violate timing break flash access trigger internal fault resets The firmware never stood a chance. ✨ Big Takeaway If an MCU resets “randomly,” assume power first. Code bugs are repeatable. Power bugs are chaotic. Before rewriting firmware: check decoupling placement check ground integrity check transient response check load steps on VDD Most “mystery resets” disappear when power integrity is fixed. #EmbeddedSystems #MCU #PowerIntegrity #PCBDesign #ElectronicsEngineering #HardwareDebugging #SignalIntegrity #LearningInPublic
