This week, we had the pleasure of welcoming students from HOWEST University of Applied Sciences, the University of Surrey, The English School, Nicosia and Dasoupolis Lyceum (Cyprus) as part of the very first Dynamic Works Student Week initiative. Throughout the week, they'll gain hands-on experience with 𝐀𝐈, 𝐜𝐲𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐬𝐨𝐟𝐭𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐀𝐏𝐈𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐡𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 while learning from the people who build and work with these technologies every day. From what we’ve seen of them already, we know they'll leave with new skills, new ideas, and maybe even a clearer picture of where their future could take them. Visible as a country that is building confidence in research, technology, innovation and digital transformation. As a Cypriot, this matters deeply. Because small countries are often underestimated. But size does not define ambition. Geography does not limit influence. And a country of just over one million people can still have a global voice. This recognition also reflects the direction set by President Nikos Christodoulides: to establish Cyprus as a trusted research, technology and innovation hub — connecting talent, ideas, investment and public service to create real value for citizens, businesses, researchers and future generations. In the age of AI, GovTech and digital transformation, visibility matters. Not for vanity. For trust. For investment. For partnerships. For citizens. For the next generation. Because technology is not the destination. People are. AI only matters if it improves lives. Innovation only matters if it creates value. Over the past days, we had the opportunity to present the new generation of Dynamic Works Syntellicore Financial CRM and our latest innovations in AI, digital identity and compliance to government officials, business leaders and technology stakeholders across the region. The level of interest and the quality of the discussions confirmed that there is real demand for practical, commercially ready innovation developed in Cyprus. What impressed me most was the shared ambition to build stronger bridges between Europe and ASEAN. Cyprus has a unique opportunity to position itself as a gateway for technology, innovation and business, and missions like this demonstrate what can be achieved when government, research and industry work together with a common vision. It was a pleasure to hear the insights from Prof. Stella Christie, Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia, H.E. Denis Chaibi, Ambassador of the European Union to Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam and the delegation of Cypriot companies and enterprises. I believe the opposite is true. Academic education has never been more important. Technology can provide answers, but education teaches us how to ask better questions. The two combined are a force that enables and elevates knowledge. I'm therefore delighted to be joining CIM - Cyprus Business School l as a Visiting Lecturer for the UWL MSc Digital Marketing. This academic year, I will be teaching: • Digital Tools – Fall Semester • Content Marketing & Campaign Management – Spring Semester One of the reasons I'm excited to join CIM is its commitment to education that extends beyond the classroom. As a business owner, I know this well. It prepares professionals to think critically, adapt to change and lead in their respective fields. I'm looking forward to contributing to that environment. They recommended high-risk brain surgery to obtain a biopsy, a procedure that carried the possibility of serious complications. But something did not feel right. I used AI to analyse the available medical information, challenge the original assumptions and explore alternative explanations. Its assessment suggested a very different possibility: that my father was more likely suffering from a treatable condition.I sought two additional specialist opinions. The second team agreed with the original diagnosis and was unwilling to seriously consider the AI-supported analysis. The third team was different. They remained open-minded, reviewed the evidence and reached a conclusion that closely aligned with the AI’s findings. Faced with conflicting opinions, we chose the path supported by human expertise combined with artificial intelligence. We decided not to proceed with the high-risk brain surgery. Four months later, that decision proved to be the right one. My father recovered,and today, he is healthier, more informed and more conscious of the lifestyle and metabolic risks that contributed to his condition. This experience changed how I see AI forever. AI is not here to replace doctors, experts or human judgment. It is here to help us ask better questions, challenge assumptions, identify possibilities we may have overlooked and make more informed decisions. The future will not belong to humans competing against machines. It will belong to people who understand how to combine the two. Question everything. Use AI. Combine it with human expertise. Nine more are weighing it. Two have moved their intellectual property onto the island and started hiring Cypriots to work on it. Those figures come from Demetris Skourides, Chief Scientist of the Republic of Cyprus, and they sit at the centre of our feature published today. The argument is not the one you expect. For decades the Cypriot diaspora has been discussed in the language of heritage - memory, belonging, pride. Skourides treats it as infrastructure. Founders, investors, researchers and operators who spent twenty years building credibility in Melbourne, Mumbai, Dubai and Palo Alto can open doors a state of one million people cannot open on its own.
