About

I've been around computers since I was a kid. Video games first, then Photoshop, then building websites before I knew what a developer was. I taught myself to edit photos and videos, streamed, tinkered with anything that had a screen.

By day, I work in cybersecurity. Started fixing computers young, moved to help desk, climbed to security engineer. Along the way I picked up whatever the job or the project needed.

"That blend of structured security thinking and freeform building defines how I work."

The turning point wasn't one moment. It was repetition. The same manual work, the same ceiling, the same feeling that I could do more. I wanted independence. I wanted to build things that actually helped people — not just close tickets.

My first project, ChannelWatch, started because I couldn't find what I needed. I was a Channels DVR user who wanted real-time monitoring and alerts. Nothing existed. So I built it. Late nights, learning Python and Docker by doing, failing and iterating until it worked. That project taught me more than any course — and watching others use it was the best feeling I'd had in tech.

The name CoderLuii came late one night during a build session. Three monitors deep, news on the right, terminal on the left. I needed a handle for my first public repo. "Coder" because that's what I was becoming. "Luii" because that's me. No strategy. Just a guy shipping code who needed a username. It stuck.

"If a tool I built saves you two hours, that's two hours you get back. That's worth the work."

Now I build in the open. Morning to early morning, every detail until it's right. When a tool I build can help other people, I open-source it. Not because it's easy to maintain — it's not. But I believe we're here to help each other.

Connecting with fellow tinkerers, builders, and self-hosters is what keeps this going. If my work resonates with you, that's the best encouragement I could ask for.
