I kept coming back to the same themes: 🔐 Data protection ☁️ Cloud-first architectures 🧩 Simplifying increasingly complex security stacks That’s what drew me to Netskope. There’s a clear focus on helping organisations secure how people actually work today — across SaaS, web, and private apps — without adding unnecessary friction. What excites me most isn’t just the world-class technology, but the people 🤝 Sharp, curious, genuine, and customer-first. I’ve had the pleasure of knowing many of the team throughout my career in cybersecurity, and I’m looking forward to now calling them colleagues - Michael Kontos, Luke Healey, Jackson Smith, Jason Soentpiet, Adam Saul, Garth Gilbert, Julianna L. Across the sessions and conversations, a few themes stood out: 🔹 Building trust in digital government depends on strong cyber resilience. 🔹 Identity security and Zero Trust are becoming foundational, particularly as AI introduces new risks and opportunities. 🔹 The focus is shifting from compliance to operational resilience—preparing for, responding to and learning from incidents. 🔹 Creating a cyber-aware culture remains one of the biggest challenges, with people continuing to be our greatest strength and our greatest vulnerability. The event provided an opportunity to connect with security leaders, practitioners and technology partners who are tackling these challenges every day. Thanks to the organisers, speakers and everyone I had the chance to meet. Our new report, Netskope Threat Labs AI Report: 2026, finds that downstream data policy violations, where an AI service returns data a user or agent isn't authorized to access, are still less common than upstream violations. But the rate is climbing fast, more than doubling over the past year: from 12 to 31 per week overall, and from 72 to 206 per week among the top 25% of organizations. The report also examines how agentic coding tools are creating new execution risks, and how attackers are weaponizing the AI supply chain.
