“Every day, I see the genuine difference our people make in customers’ lives, whether it’s helping someone take their first holiday in years or achieve their dream of owning a home. Knowing we play a small part in those important moments is what motivates me. Premier Banking is about helping customers make confident financial decisions. We do that by building trusted relationships and partnering with customers through every stage of their financial journey, helping them navigate important life moments with clarity and confidence. One of the initiatives I’m most proud of has been evolving our Premier Relationship Management model to better meet our customers’ changing needs. By investing in technology and strengthening the way we engage with customers, our Relationship Managers have better insights and tools to deliver more personalised, proactive support when it matters most. It’s a great example of how combining great people with great technology creates better outcomes for customers. Recently, I was honoured to be recognised as an AFR BOSS Young Executive. It's an incredible privilege and I also see it as recognition of the broader team's work - none of these achievements happen individually. They're the result of strong collaboration, shared ambition and a collective focus on delivering for our customers. I’m excited by the opportunity to continue combining great people with technology to create even more personalised experiences for our customers. If we can make financial decisions feel simpler, more relevant and more accessible, we'll help even more Australians feel confident about their financial future.” Aaron Bergstrum - State Manager Premier Banking

“NAIDOC Week is a time to celebrate the strength, resilience and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. I always value the opportunity to get along to community events, listen, learn and connect with mob. It's also a chance to recognise the generations of people who have worked tirelessly to preserve culture, advocate for change and create opportunities for those who follow. For me, it's a celebration of the world's oldest continuing culture – something that's uniquely Australian. The work I do at CommBank is challenging, but it's also the most rewarding of my career. I genuinely believe we have an opportunity to create meaningful economic change for First Nations peoples by improving financial wellbeing, supporting vulnerable customers and helping more First Nations families achieve home ownership. One initiative I'm particularly proud of is helping to expand the My Money Dream program with the First Nations Foundation. Developed by First Nations peoples, for First Nations peoples, the program builds confidence and capability with money through practical, self-paced learning. Seeing the program reach more First Nations customers through our branches, contact centres, digital channels and Indigenous Business Banking has been incredibly rewarding. During a visit to Palm Island as part of implementing our First Nations Reach Program, I saw first-hand the impact of travelling to remote communities to support customers with their banking needs. It reinforced why this work matters and the lasting difference it can make. Looking ahead, I'm excited by the momentum we're building across CommBank in financial inclusion and accessibility for all customers. By continuing to strengthen partnerships and improve access to financial services, we have a real opportunity to make a difference at scale.” Kyle Leong - Senior Manager Retail Banking Indigenous Engagement

AI isn’t just a conversation at CommBank, it’s something we’re leveraging to reimagine banking, through simpler, safer, faster and more reliable experiences. Accelerate AI brought together the people shaping what’s next, exploring how AI is transforming business, innovation and the Australian economy. At CommBank, we’re turning that energy into capability, collaboration and action across our teams.

"I’ve had the privilege of spending more than 35 years with CommBank, building my career alongside the communities I serve. What has always mattered most to me is helping customers grow, adapt and succeed, particularly in regional Australia, where small and medium businesses are the backbone of local economies. Interestingly, I didn’t set out to build a career in banking. After deferring a Business degree, I joined my local CommBank branch as a proof machinist, processing cheques and balancing the day’s work. It was a very different time in banking. From there, I progressed through a range of roles, developing a growing interest in finance and lending. A pivotal moment came when I joined the new Business Banking Centre in Lismore. That opportunity led me to become a Small Business Banker, supporting more than 300 regional businesses and discovering a passion for helping local enterprises achieve their ambitions. During this time, I also completed my degree while working full-time and raising my daughter, Phoebe. It was a busy but incredibly rewarding chapter of life. My passion for regional communities led me into a Relationship Executive (RE) role, where I became the first female RE in Northern NSW. Supporting larger businesses and contributing to regional economic growth remains one of the highlights of my career. Leadership wasn’t something I initially pursued, but with encouragement from mentors, I stepped into a Regional Manager role and quickly discovered how rewarding it could be. Helping people grow, succeed and make a difference in their communities is now one of the most fulfilling aspects of my work. Being part of the Lismore and Northern Rivers community means a great deal to me. It’s a region shaped by resilience, innovation and a strong sense of community. I’ve seen firsthand how people and businesses come together through challenges and opportunities, and that shared spirit is something I’m proud to be part of. I’m equally proud of how our teams show up locally. We don’t just work in these communities; we’re part of them. That local presence and deep understanding of our customers help us create meaningful, lasting impact. Supporting regional Australia matters. These communities are vital to the nation’s economy, yet often face unique challenges, from access to capital and workforce to infrastructure and connectivity. That’s why initiatives like the CommBank Tour are so valuable. They allow us to connect with customers, celebrate local success, and have important conversations about innovation, growth and resilience. Ultimately, it’s about partnership. We work alongside customers, teams and communities to support their ambitions and help build a strong future for regional Australia. That’s something I’m incredibly proud to be part of every day.” #CommBankLife – Leesa Battistuzzi, Executive Manager – Regional and Agribusiness Banking

Yesterday we held our inaugural CommBank Accelerate AI summit, marking a significant moment for a national conversation on AI across industry. Bringing together industry leaders, global visionaries and Australian change makers, the summit explored how organisations can move from AI experimentation to real, responsible impact at scale. Here are some of the ideas shaping Australia’s AI future 👇 🤖 AI is advancing fast, and enterprise adoption is still early The tech is ahead of deployment. The real challenge now is translating capability into measurable value. ⚖️ We’re still figuring out the human + AI balance The nature of work will shift, and how people and AI best work together is still evolving. 📊 Data is the competitive advantage It’s no longer just physical scale. Advantage is shifting to how much proprietary data you have and how usable it is. 🧠 Skills and confidence unlock value Scaling AI requires more than tools, it takes workforce enablement, transparency and trust. 🌸 Scale comes from backing what works Experimentation matters, but impact comes from doubling down on what proves its value. Scammers will often impersonate trusted authorities, create a false sense of urgency, and use familiarity to build trust quickly. That’s why community conversations matter. In Hurstville, local leaders, police and banking representatives came together to help Mandarin-speaking community members recognise scam warning signs, ask questions and share practical ways to stay safe. One message came through clearly: if something feels off - stop, check and reject.

“Career breaks shouldn’t close doors, but too often, they do. I joined CommBank almost 10 years ago as a Chartered Management Accountant, having worked across a few different industries. Since joining, I’ve had the opportunity to build my tech knowledge and eventually move into a tech role, with consistent support from leaders who were open to that kind of transition. It’s one of the things I’ve valued most about working here: the ability to grow in a different direction without having to leave. For the past five years, I’ve been part of the Engineering Practice, supporting initiatives to strengthen and grow our engineering capability across the bank. More recently, I’ve had the chance to lead our Career Comeback Program for engineering. Last year was the first intake, and it was a great success. We brought in engineers who were returning to the workforce after a break, and they quickly became valuable contributors to their teams. Managers consistently called out their attitude, perspective, and the different ways they approached problems. With the right support, they were able to get back up to speed while still being challenged with meaningful work. The good news is that we are running the program again this year, with applications now open. If you’re an engineer who has taken time out of the workforce and are considering returning, this is a structured way to do it, with support built in and real work from the start. CommBank has been a place where I’ve been able to shift my own career in a way I didn’t originally expect, and this program is an extension of that. For more information and to apply now, use the link in the comments.” Claire Pepper, Executive Manager- Engineering Practice Operations & Governance

“One of the biggest things I’ve learned working in AI is that it only really creates value when it becomes part of how everyone works day to day. It can’t sit in one team. It has to be something the whole organisation builds confidence with. That’s a big part of what brought me back to CommBank. There’s already an incredible mix of talent across the business, and a real ambition to use AI in ways that make a difference. Not just making things faster, but applying it in areas where it helps customers and colleagues in ways that were previously too complex or too hard to scale. Just as important is how we do it. Safety, privacy and accuracy have to be built in from the start. At the same time, we need to be willing to test, learn and move forward with confidence. Getting that balance right is critical. Over time, I think AI will follow a similar path to digital. It will just become part of how we get things done. And when it’s working well, you don’t really notice it. It’s just there, helping everything run better. The opportunity isn’t just adopting AI. It’s using it in a way that creates real value for customers, colleagues and the broader community.” — Ranil Boteju, Chief AI Officer, CommBank #CommBankLife

CommBank has opened a San Francisco Technology Hub, connecting our team with one of the world’s most concentrated AI ecosystems. The new Hub brings CommBank technologists and product teams into downtown San Francisco. There, they are learning from frontier AI leaders to accelerate how new technologies can be applied back home in Australia. It builds on the success of CommBank’s Seattle Technology Hub, opened in March 2025, which has supported learning for more than 100 CBA technologists. Across the two locations, CommBank is working closely with OpenAI, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Anthropic and Microsoft. CommBank Chief Executive Officer Matt Comyn said the hub gives engineers and technologists access to world‑class tools, expertise and partners. “This is part of our commitment to working at the frontier of technology, alongside leading global partners,” Comyn said. “We’re investing significantly in our people and capability, because attracting and supporting the best talent means giving them access to the best tools, expertise and opportunities globally.” The San Francisco hub brings our teams closer to where AI models are being built, connecting us to global ideas and innovation that can be scaled across our 10,000+ technologists to deliver better experiences for CommBank customers. As one of our partners OpenAI put it, “proximity sets the pace”.
