National messaging system redirect
[edit]Why did you change the redirect on the national messaging system page as it was moved due to the name of said system being changed from the placeholder name the Australian government used and may still be redirecting from articles which still use the old name. Im suggesting we roll this back to avoid breaking links. Rwils32 (talk) 12:12, 5 September 2026 (UTC)
- Rwils32, there are no articles that use the old name. ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 12:42, 5 September 2026 (UTC)
- Yep didnt realise that was a tool Though who in their right mind would even search for that exact article Rwils32 (talk) 12:44, 5 September 2026 (UTC)
FAC
[edit]Hi, thanks for taking the time to review my FAC. Do you intend to support or oppose? NRP (talk) 01:22, 7 September 2026 (UTC)
- Hi NRP, I haven't yet had time to have a second look. ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 15:19, 7 September 2026 (UTC)
- No problem, just wanted to make sure you hadn't forgotten about it. NRP (talk) 20:56, 7 September 2026 (UTC)
Question about article PROD Nominations
[edit]Hey @AirshipJungleman29, I wanted to reach out because I noticed that you had nominated a few articles I had worked on for LLMPROD on possible suspicion of them being AI generated. I can understand that but these were recreated after I had appealed my block, wherein the admin had reduced my block to just main space. The relevant discussions can be found at Wikipedia:AI_noticeboard/Archive_14#c-Newslinger-20260720024700-User:Flyingphoenixchips. I also noticed that you had nominated these articles in a very short time duration, so logically you could not have reviewed the content of those article. I understand why you might have nominated them, but the issue was already fixed. I had recreated them via the AfC process and I hope you can look at the edit history of those articles to ascertain that they were indeed not written with AI assistance. Also Ruopfüzhano Whiso for most parts had very little contribution from my end. It was re-edited largely by two separate users, so I did not understand why you would nominate that on the rational of my LLM block. Thanks Flyingphoenixchips (talk) 18:00, 7 September 2026 (UTC)
- Fair enough Flyingphoenixchips and apologies; it's sometimes quite hard to follow all these different timings and discussions, but sorry for being too hasty. I've left the tag up at List of Assamese-language media, which was tagged by another editor, but I've reverted the rest. Thanks, ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 08:42, 8 September 2026 (UTC)
- appreciate it, and thanks :) Flyingphoenixchips (talk) 15:48, 8 September 2026 (UTC)
Your recent(ish) PRODs
[edit]The author was namespace blocked, but these were submitted through AFC after the block. Cheers, In solidarity Wikipedian12512 (Talking is fine | contribs) 20:03, 7 September 2026 (UTC)
- (Save for List of Assamese-language media, which the person wants to be draftified.) The PROD feels like a sort of statement that people who are partially blocked are somehow “below” those who aren’t, a statement that I disagree with (see my block log). Cheers, In solidarity Wikipedian12512 (Talking is fine | contribs) 20:06, 7 September 2026 (UTC)
- I think that's quite a bit of a reach Wikipedian12512; in any case, please see above. ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 08:43, 8 September 2026 (UTC)

A request
[edit]Hey @AirshipJungleman29,
I've been working on cleaning up the draft Draft:Lee Han-yeol to remove AI generated text and hallucinations. However, I'm not sure if I missed anything, so I was wondering if you'd like to take a stab at evaluating the content so it can be further improved?
Thanks, I really appreciate the help! Flyingphoenixchips (talk) 04:00, 9 September 2026 (UTC)
Oleg Burlakov Edit Request
[edit]Hi. How are you? I hope you remember helping out with the merge of "Burlakov case" with "Oleg Burlakov." I am working on edits now to remove poorly sourced statements and improving the NPOV of the page. Since you were helpful before, I am hoping you might not mind looking over my edit request, found at Talk:Oleg Burlakov#Biography section edit request. Another editor had begun working on this, but he dropped the ball, so now I am reaching out to you. It is a straightforward edit, and should be simple to implement. Thanks so much. Draft image for Iron Gate
[edit]Here is a draft of the 550 AD diagram of plate 11.14. It is still work in progress (e.g. I'm aware the fill colors are too dark), but I wanted to get your feedback early because the other five images from plate 11.14 will be copied from this. So, it is most efficient to make any changes early. Let me know if you want the font changed, or more textual annotations, or whatever. I altered it a bit from the orig image to ensure there are no copyright concerns: e.g. I omitted the 11 meter horizontal scale bar, the unused aqueduct, etc. But I can put them in if you want.
This is in SVG format, so it is very easy to change colors, fonts, shapes, etc at any times. So don't worry if you find a change you want to make a week from now or a month from now. I can make changes, or - if you cant reach me - any competent graphics person can. Noleander (talk) 21:07, 12 September 2026 (UTC)
- That’s perfect Noleander, and beyond anything I could have done! Thank you so much! ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 21:49, 12 September 2026 (UTC)
- @AirshipJungleman29: - I've finished the diagrams, shown below. If you see any mistakes, or if you want any enhancements, let me know ... I have plenty of spare time to do more work on them. I stuck one of the diagrams into the Iron Gate article just for kicks, but – of course – if and where they go into the article is entirely up to you. Noleander (talk) 00:58, 14 September 2026 (UTC)
- Thank you so so much Noleander, this is absolutely fantastic. ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 22:48, 14 September 2026 (UTC)

Women in Green's October 2026 Edit-a-thon
[edit]
Hello AirshipJungleman29:
WikiProject Women in Green is holding a month-long Good Article Edit-a-thon event in October 2026!
Running from October 1 to 31, 2026, WikiProject Women in Green (WiG) is hosting a Good Article (GA) edit-a-thon event with the theme Around the World in 31 Days! All experience levels welcome. Participants are invited to work on nominating and/or reviewing GA submissions related to women and women's works (e.g., books, films or organizations created by women) during the event period — and this time, we are extending our focus to encourage more Did You Know (DYK) submissions spotlighting new GA articles about women and women's works. We hope to collectively cover article subjects from at least 31 countries (or broader international articles) by the event's end. GA resources and one-on-one support will be provided by experienced editors, and participants will have the opportunity to earn a special WiG barnstar for their efforts.
We hope to see you there!

Genghis Khan
[edit]Hello. I notice you removed an image from the Genghis Khan article. What make you think it isn't really relevant? ~2026-52227-75 (talk) 14:57, 29 September 2026 (UTC)

- The image chosen was of a Mongolian barbecue restaurant named Gengis Khan. It was placed alongside the following paragraph:
"The Western world, never directly affected by Genghis, has viewed him in shifting and contrasting ways. During the 14th century, as shown by the works of Marco Polo and Geoffrey Chaucer, he was seen as a just and wise ruler, but during the eighteenth century he came to embody the Enlightenment stereotype of a tyrannical Oriental despot, and by the twentieth century he represented a prototypical barbarian warlord. In recent decades, Western scholarship has become increasingly nuanced, viewing Genghis as a more complex individual."
- Per MOS:IRELEV, what about the image was significant and relevant in the context of the article? ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 15:01, 29 September 2026 (UTC)
- Something named after someone fits the definition of legacy. The image of a restaurant named after Genghis Khan in L.A. shows an example of how the Mongol leader is perceived one way in the Western World. ~2026-52227-75 (talk) 15:09, 29 September 2026 (UTC)
- WP:OR. To repeat myself again, "Per MOS:IRELEV, what about the image was significant and relevant in the context of the article?" ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 15:13, 29 September 2026 (UTC)
- Define "significant." How is something named after someone not relevant in the context of the article? ~2026-52227-75 (talk) 15:28, 29 September 2026 (UTC)
- You would need secondary sources discussing things named after him to use something like this. Mike Christie (talk - contribs - library) 15:32, 29 September 2026 (UTC)
- (edit conflict) Because if you had read the article, or perhaps searched on Google, you would know that there are thousands of things named after Genghis Khan. The way we decide what's significant is if it illustrates something that's described in the article text, which is decided upon by the weight of reliable sources. So, for example, if you had an illustration in a Chaucer manuscript depicting Genghis as "a just and wise ruler", or if you had an Enlightenment-era depiction of a "tyrannical Oriental despot", that would be significant and relevant. What is not significant is this image, or an image of Mr Prosser (a direct descendant in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy), or the cover of a song titled Genghis Khan. ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 15:36, 29 September 2026 (UTC)

Temper (film) GA Reassessment
[edit]I went through the hassle and removed all uncited sources and there are no unreliable sources either. Can it be a GA now? @Kailash29792: said, If the [citation needed] situations are handled either by being deleted or replaced with better refs, this article can retain GA status
DareshMohan (talk) 21:11, 29 September 2026 (UTC)
- DareshMohan, you can renominate the article for GA status by following the instructions at WP:GAN. ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 09:55, 30 September 2026 (UTC)
FAC mentoring
[edit]Hey, I saw you were on the list of FAC mentors. Would you consider helping me through nominating Hubert Rochereau's preserved room as an FA? This would be my first nomination, and I'd like some help. Thanks! Bungle491 (talk) 22:28, 29 September 2026 (UTC)
- Bungle491, a few thoughts. If promoted today, the article would immediately be in the top 30 shortest FAs. It's 837 words, of which 261 (almost a third) is the lead section; that's definitely too long compared to the rest of the article. I suspect a lead half its length would be more suitable, in which case you'd be reaching the top 10. An article that short can be promoted, but it needs to be watertight regarding comprehensiveness, one of the FA criteria. Currently, one of the sources is flagged as generally unreliable by one of my scripts. There are three French-language sources (all from fr:La Nouvelle République (France)); are you sure that there are no more coverage in that language?
- There is also the possibility that some reviewers opposed because they don't think there is enough coverage for FA status. Not much you can do about that, unless you find some high-quality academic scholarship that provides significant coverage. ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 10:08, 30 September 2026 (UTC)
- Thank you for your response! I’ll try to find more coverage in French language sources to increase comprehensiveness, although if I can’t, I may just hold off on going for FA. Thanks for the advice! Bungle491 (talk) 11:10, 30 September 2026 (UTC)
