This week, #TeamDepot volunteers are on the National Mall working alongside our partner, Purple Heart Homes, Inc., to construct a custom, modular home for a deserving veteran. Over several days, our associate volunteers are pouring their time, skill and heart into every detail of this build. Being the Cornerstone Partner on a project of this scale - and on our nation's front lawn - is a profound honor and a powerful reminder of what happens when we come together to serve those who served us. Housing stability changes lives. We’re proud to give our time to build a fresh start right in the heart of Washington, D.C. Read more here: https://lnkd.in/e8jW-ZzS

From military service to a career in the trades, John’s journey is pure inspiration. When John transitioned out of the military, he faced an unimaginable hurdle: while navigating his daughter's medical condition, he didn't know how he was going to provide for his family. Everything changed when he discovered the Path to Pro military program offering free skilled trades training for separating service members. He threw himself into training, mastered his craft and turned his determination into a thriving career. Today, John works full-time in the trades—building homes for military families, providing stability for his own and teaching his skills to the next generation of tradespeople. Watch John’s moving story below to see how dedication and the right opportunity can build for the future.

25 years later, we remember. On September 11, we pause to honor the lives lost, the heroes who stepped forward, and the countless acts of courage and service that followed. Earlier this year, Tunnel to Towers Foundation brought a steel beam recovered from the World Trade Center to The Home Depot as part of its Steel Across America tour. For our associates, the opportunity to pause and place a hand on a piece of history was a powerful reminder of the lives and legacies we honor today. We will always remember. 🇺🇸

This summer, #TeamDepot volunteers across Greater Los Angeles brought service to life through a wide-reaching Summer of Service that directly impacted neighborhoods across the city. Volunteers drove meaningful change by donating 20 bicycles to the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Clarita Valley, clearing invasive plants and preserving trails at Deukmejian Wilderness Park and completing a major multi-room renovation—including fresh paint, custom shelving, and new recreational equipment—at the Salvation Army Red Shield Community Center in downtown LA.

In the wake of recent severe weather across the Midwest, we’ve teamed up with Operation Blessing to deliver 600 disaster relief kits loaded with essential cleanup and recovery supplies to the communities where our associates and customers live and work. Local stores are coordinating with fire departments, emergency management and community agencies to get the free kits directly into the hands of those who need them most to help local families begin rebuilding.

Building stronger communities takes teamwork, shared vision, and a willingness to put in the sweat equity. The Home Depot Foundation has proudly partnered with Boys & Girls Clubs of America to empower the next generation—from introducing youth to the skilled trades through our Path to Pro program to transforming the very spaces where they learn and grow. We are excited to continue this incredible work today alongside the Boys & Girls Clubs of Long Beach to leave a lasting legacy for local youth. At the Westside/Freeman E. Fairfield Clubhouse, 100 dedicated #TeamDepot volunteers rolled up their sleeves to completely transform the Club’s indoor and outdoor spaces. From building new pergolas and upgrading the outdoor sports pitch, to painting murals and installing brand-new storage for the kids, this project was all about creating a more welcoming, inspiring and functional environment for the Club members. Thank you to our incredible partners at Boys & Girls Clubs of America, our hardworking associates and the Long Beach community for allowing us to be part of this transformation. Together, we are building safe, beautiful spaces where youth can learn, play, and thrive. 🧡
