I had a really interesting conversation with a domain investor this week. They sent us a domain evaluation for the domain name at one million U.S. dollars. And honestly, the reasoning sounded pretty convincing. It found a potential buyer, a huge comparable sale, and even a celebrity with millions of followers. But something didn't add up. So we took the exact same domain name and put it into our side on the same AI tool. Our evaluation around 20 to 30,000 USD. Same domain, same AI. Completely different answer. So which one is right? That's the problem with relying on AI to evaluate your domain names. Depending on how you ask the questions, a I can give you plenty of reasons to justify the number you already have in your head just to please you. So use AI for the research, but don't let a I convince you there's $1,000,000 buyer when the market hasn't shown you one.
