Retail people know the feeling. You walk into a strong specialty dealer. Benchmade is selling. Customers love the brand. And within five minutes, you can see the next 100 units. A display with room to expand. An assortment with whitespace. A floor team ready for the full story. An event that could bring even more customers through the door. The account is doing well. You see how to make it great. That instinct is what this role is built for. We are looking for someone who would rather be on that floor than behind a screen. Someone who can arrive with the math, expand the display, train the staff on one hero story, build the ask, close the order, and set the next date before leaving. Not because a checklist said so. Because that is how you stack growth with a great dealer. This role is national. It is hands-on. It is a road life by design. WHAT WOULD YOU DO IN THE FIRST 45 MINUTES? https://lnkd.in/e4XNrxmg #FieldSales #SpecialtyRetail #Benchmade
First 45 minutes? I’d watch before I touched anything. Who is the actual customer, what are they stopping to look at, what are they walking past, and what questions are they asking the staff? My first reaction is there’s a lot competing for the eye here. Before expanding the display, I’d want to understand what’s actually earning attention and what’s just taking up space.
I would start by adding more of your awesome visuals of users engaged in the Lifestyle of being a Benchmade Knife owner, so the customer can envision themselves taking those adventures and being part of the Benchmade Family. That is where I would start.
As a Product Specialist who spends a lot of time at shows talking directly with customers, I’d spend those first 45 minutes listening and observing. Talk to the staff, see what customers are actually buying and asking for, identify what’s missing, and then figure out where you can add value. The best opportunities usually become pretty obvious once you understand what’s happening on the floor.
